There are some funny elements in Conan Chop Chop, and the gameplay itself is ok, but when the underlying structure is as bad as this, it all collapses.

Triangle Strategy is a triumph. It is a beautiful and atmospheric game that offers both a really engaging story and gameplay that only makes you want more.

GRID Legends stands out from the pack thanks to great variety, action packed racing, fallible rivals and a superbly endearing story mode.

Gran Turismo 7 is a triumphant return for Polyphony. Being so much more than a simple racing game, it's a car enthusiast’s dream come true, with precise driving controls, fancy and immersive menus, and a soundtrack and presentation that tops it all off.

Lost Ark is a huge game, and feels like a game that has been out for several years already. It's polished and balanced, all the different classes are good, and there's an almost endless amount of content here.

Elden Ring is the culmination of everything Dark Souls brought before it, mixed with a fresh take on the open world genre that leaves no hand held with minimal boring sequences or clogged quest logs. Despite a few growing pains and the real fun beginning a few hours in, Elden Ring is what every game in its genre should strive to be; a challenging, mysterious adventure that never ceases to amaze, only getting better the more time you spend in its dark, yet absolutely beautiful world.

Techland deserves praise for having put together a well-functioning and well-flowing game, which is also completely free of microtransactions and other nonsense. It's just a shame that the game itself isn't more fun to play.

Total War: Warhammer III is a spectacle of a Total War game. While it doesn't do much in the way of micromanaging and even defaults on optimization, it offers some truly spectacular moments and epic campaigns whether you're playing as the humans or invading chaos monsters.

Horizon Forbidden West fails to live up to its predecessor in just about every way. While the world and its many new machines are stunning, the experience is bogged down with confusing design choices and variation for the sake of variation - making Aloy's newest adventure one to forget.

Expeditions: Rome is probably developer Logic Artist's biggest and most impressive game, but not all aspects are equally rewarding, and when you're forced to do the same thing over and over again, the whole unfortunately becomes somewhat less than the sum of its parts.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a huge step in the right direction, delivering on parts of the dream of being a pokémon trainer like never before. It's unfortunately also marred by a bland story, lackluster visuals and tons of small frustrations spread throughout.

Rainbow Six Extraction is a fun, slightly different game in the cooperative shooter genre. It's less chaotic, more methodical and maybe doesn't have the extreme peaks that, say, Back 4 Blood can have at its best.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is a fresh new start for the nearly 20-year-old game series, and to some extent manages to reinvent the wheel.

At its best it's action filled and grand in every way, but most of the time you'll struggle with game-breaking bugs or even getting into a match without the game crashing. Hopefully DICE will be able to save this beast with time, but it will demand a lot of work, and an expansion of its most exciting mode, Battlefield Portal.

More figures to choose from, more boards to play on, and individual dice would have done a lot to lift this game up an extra notch, and extend its life somewhat.

Call of Duty: Vanguard offers an at times spectacular campaign and a fun multiplayer mode. Yet the authenticity of the Second World War is all but gone, with missing historical maps, teams and uniforms, leaving me wondering why the developers even chose this setting to begin with.

After 5 games with build-up, we are left with a staggeringly good game that delivers both quality and entertainment beyond all expectations. It is both big, beautiful, varied and very, very fun.

Impostor Factory is another incredibly written and deeply emotional story from Freebird Games. The game is in some ways a victim of diminishing returns, but still delivers laughs and tears aplenty.

Age of Empires IV is fundamentally a true AoE game, but sadly, it's very little else. There are no bold chances taken here, no great additions or revolutionary changes. And that, after so many years, is disappointing.
