BioWare set the bar quite high for themselves with the Dragon Age: Origins. With big-but-subtle changes, the developer tries to address a larger audience with the second game, but this doesn't mean that these changes aren't fit for the hardcore demographic. On the contrary, Dragon Age II keeps the deep RPG-elements and the gratifying story that turned the first part into such a well received game.

Cities in Motion is an innovative and well thought through tycoon-game. By putting the focus on the managing of public transport in the cities, the game distinguishes itself from other tycoon-games. The concept has been worked out well as a whole, but the balance in gameplay could've used more refinement.

Kirby's Epic Yarn makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. You'll literally be amazed all the time and the game treats you with all sorts of funny jokes consisting out of fabric and yarn. The game might be to short and easy, but the all around quality and creativity make up for those in full. It's a platform game you'll fall hopelessly in love with.

Shogun 2 is an homage to Shogun: total War. We'll never look back though, knowing that Shogun 2 is simply a better game, thanks to the strongly improved gameplay and a turn-based section that knows even more depth this time around.

The over-the-top racing game, MotorStorm: Apocalypse, convinces with its spectacular concept. The game definitely shines as a multiplayer game, whether it's splitscreen or online. It's too bad though, that it doesn't play as well as its predecessor and the artificial intelligence of your opponents and arbitrary crashes will get your blood pressure to rise significantly from time to time.

De Blob 2 is a platform adventure game in which you paint grim looking locations in all sorts of funky looking colours. Its luscious details and graceful design make it pure eye candy. That makes it all the more painful when you discover the monotonous nature of De Blob 2. The artificial difficulty in the form of a clock increases this painful sensation even more.

This action-adventure game offers a perfect mix of gameplay elements, although each of them separately come of as a bit stale. Combine this mix with an intriguing story, and you'll end with a meal that'll fill you up the brim, which will likely be toppled by the delicious HD-dip sauce that comes with it.

The title of the game is pretty misleading. You'd expect a spectacle, but what you get is a generic arcade racer that could use a little more spunk. TNT Racers isn't incredibly bad, but it definitely isn't a game that will stick with you for long.

Mark Leung: revenge of the Bitch is a bizarre role-playing game. It doesn't just take the piss out of the games industry, but mankind as a whole. Even its numerous technical issues come off as a bit charming.

It shows that Nintendo tried their best to do something new with the Mario vs. Donkey Kong franchise, which didn't pan out as hoped for due to a lack of a decent challenge. The level-editor makes up for a lot though, because it allows other players to challenge you with their creativity.

Killzone 3 might miss an abundance of multiplayes modes and the singleplayer isn't perfect. But that shouldn't stop you from buying this game. As an experience Killzone 3 waltzes over pretty much all of its competition of the same genre. Guerrilla knows what makes Killzone different from other shooters and combines those elements with some refinements in its controls, variation and style, which makes Killzone 3 into what it always should have been.

It seems almost impossible to not have a special place in your heart for Bulletstorm. People Can Fly could have spent more energy in creating a more substantial multiplayer, but the singleplayer and Echoes-mode make up for a lot, if not all of it. The unique gameplay, ballsy humour and colourful environments make us take our minor griefs with the game for granted.

Zombies aren't seemingly unhealthy looking people for a change. They have been replaced by purple blocks, which don't make them any less terrifying. This game offers an especially deep strategic experience with an abstract art style, but also comes with an unnecessarily steep learning curve and lacking an actual campaign.

Fate of Two Worlds is certainly entertaining. It doesn't matter if you have graduated from the traditional Street Fighter-school or if you don't know the difference between a Hadoken and a Dragon Punch. This game has over-the-top action and a low difficulty so that everyone can get enjoyment from this. However, it comes at the cost of balance between characters.

Stacking makes use of some inventive gameplay mechanics that lets the player decide what kind of experience it wants to get out of the game. Accessibility, clever puzzle design, a charismatic world and oodles of fun are what developer Double Fine whips up into this delicious little game.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is not a racing game, it's an MMO with racing elements. There is a lot to discover on the two islands and it can keep you occupied for dozens of hours, but it fails to live up to its predecessor. The controls are sluggish and the graphics outdated.

Tactics Ogre: Let u Cling Together's gameplay is timeless and the choices you make bring about radical changes in the story, that make a second playthrough all the more inviting. It doesn't, however, escape certain small irritations.

Aside from a few bugs, this game is worth getting. The game is daring and will make you laugh more often than the average sitcom. Magicka shines the brightest when playing it online with a few decent players though, throwing out some amazing combo's together during one of the game's many cartoon-like battles.

Mario Sports Mix is a mixed bag: basketball, volleyball and the multiplayer are fantastic, but the rest is hardly worth looking at. This inconsistency doesn't fit Mario at all, and as a result Mario Sports Mix lacks the usual level of polish often present in Nintendo-titles.

If Dead Space was a prototype, then this sequel is the finished product. Dead Space 2 loses some of the frightening charm of the original, but the end result is a much more varied and solid experience.
