The graphics might sometimes be a bit old school, the quality of Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition certainly is not dated. This is still one of the best real-time strategy games ever made.- Gamer.nl

If you've ever loved Call of Duty but dropped out of the series, we advise you to return. Modern Warfare offers an excellent story mode and intense multiplayer pots. Modern Warfare is Infinity Ward like it’s supposed to be.- Gamer.nl

While Star Wars fans hoped for the ultimate redemption, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is just a good game. The combat is nice and the Star Wars force is strong, but technical flaws and a rippling story make Fallen Order just average.- Gamer.nl

Fortunately, the technical imperfections and the lack of genuine innovation hardly disturb. After all, Pokémon is ultimately about collecting cool, sweet, tough or kiddy little monsters that know how to steal our hearts - and Pokémon Sword and Shield are fascinating.- Gamer.nl

Although the Pokémon franchise is experimenting more and more with innovation, Pokémon Sword and Shield is not focused on modernization. Instead, the games prove that the Pokémon formula does not need such change. In no time you lose yourself in the beautifully designed game world and above all enjoy the cool new Pokémon. This results in a familiar and sometimes somewhat predictable journey that does exactly what we want from a Pokémon game.- Gamer.nl

Given EA's conservative approach, you already know exactly what you can expect from Need for Speed Heat. We are nevertheless happy with this pleasant exercise in street racing, tuning and police prosecution - although the whole thing has been somewhat frayed.- Gamer.nl

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 knows how to get us excited about the Olympic Games. The sports are not all worked out to the same extent, but the big variation in mini-games, wonderful story mode and pleasant 2D versions of certain sports provide enough entertainment.- Gamer.nl

With Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima covers major themes such as the afterlife, parenthood, the connection between people and even climate change and the extinction of humanity. He portrays all of this in a fabulous and unique way. The core gameplay seems contradictory at first, but once it clicks, the concept offers infinite satisfaction.- Gamer.nl

The remake of MediEvil shows that old franchises can easily be modernized without losing their nostalgic value. The improved graphics and more accurate controls give the game a major upgrade. However, the full potential is not achieved due to a slower game pace and irritating camera movements.- Gamer.nl

At its best moments, Manifold Garden is just as good as Portal and The Witness. And while the puzzle game gradually loses some of its power, the infinite, impossible and awesome levels continue to amaze.- Gamer.nl

The stars of Luigi’s Mansion 3 are the huggable slime blob Gooigi and the particularly creative hotel floors packed with secrets and puzzles. In the area of ghost hunting, this third part feels less varied due to the greatly improved vacuum cleaner and the lack of variation in ghosts.- Gamer.nl

Finally, there is a true triple-A experience for virtual reality. Asgard's Wrath combines things we saw in small VR games and turns it into a groundbreaking experience. The standard for good VR games has been raised forever.- Gamer.nl

Improved 3D models and an acceleration option make Final Fantasy 8 Remastered the best way to play the original game again - but that requires you have to like this old, somewhat polarizing game.- Gamer.nl

With the start of this new Destiny season, almost the entire game has been redesigned. That results in the most promising Destiny in years. Shadowkeep is primarily a content injection. Unfortunately, that content leans a little too much on recognizable Destiny missions and enemies.- Gamer.nl

Ring Fit Adventure offers an excellent fitness fantasy that actually makes you forget that you are doing intense exercises. Although the gameplay and story do not contain much depth, the game offers excellent motivation for gamers who are looking for a little more movement in their lives.- Gamer.nl

The Outer Worlds is Fallout with a heavy scifi influence. A role that gives you so much freedom of choice, whereby every choice also influences the rest of the game in small, practical ways. We have not felt so free in a rpg for a long time.- Gamer.nl

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a bit lost. The many bugs in combination with weird design choices bring down the level of a potentially solid shooter. The strong acting work of Jon Bernthal, the combat system and the Ghost War mode make up for this a little bit.- Gamer.nl

The exclusive PS4 game Concrete Genie is a magical adventure in which painting your own artworks works pretty well. The repetitive gameplay and limited freedom, however, could have used some fresh paint.- Gamer.nl

Trials of Mana is one of the best games from the 90s, which can now finally be played legally in English. The localization of that game alone justifies the high price tag of what is basically a collection of old ROMs. It’s a really nice nostalgia trip that comes with another classic as a gift.- Gamer.nl

Fifa 20 can be seen as Fifa 19: part 2. Despite some changes, some of the frustrations from the previous part remain. In the end the gameplay is not innovative enough to keep you busy. The multitude of strange passes and the unbalanced dribbling system are the main culprits.- Gamer.nl

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will sometimes shamelessly steal from other iconic platformers, but it adds enough ideas of its own to get away with it. The sequel works better in terms of gameplay and level design than the three-dimensional original.- Gamer.nl

Dragon Quest 11 is a fantastic jrpg on Nintendo Switch. The graphic concession does not outweigh the addition of an orchestral soundtrack and the Japanese voice-over. You can also play the entire game in 2D, with slightly faster and more direct gameplay. It really works very well on Switch.- Gamer.nl

The prospect of unlocking every part and every racer depends entirely on draining your wallet - but there is a good chance that I will keep returning with millions of others. The attraction of Mario Kart is even in its diluted form and with a dirty aftertaste too large to resist.- Gamer.nl

With a smoother fighting system and plenty of secrets to discover, this second part does that a little bit better. Yet The Surge 2 lacks an innovative approach. The end result is therefore entertaining, but also predictable.- Gamer.nl

Code Vein looks spectacular, but plays badly. Again it is clear that a soul borne needs a layered level design and a precisely thought out fighting system. Code Vein is okay in these areas, but it does not really leave the best impression.- Gamer.nl

Blair Witch is plagued by bugs and technical problems, which is a major obstacle to the psychological horror. It rarely gets scary in this predictable and fairly monotonous horror game. A mortal sin for a game based on the film of the same name.- Gamer.nl

Dicey Dungeons is a charming, fast and cheerful roguelike that has more to offer than you might think at first. No two runs are alike. Dicey Dungeons also respects your time. In just under half an hour you dice your way to the end.- Gamer.nl
