The cooperation between developer Team Bondi and publisher Rockstar led to an amazing final product, in which characters and plot twists take centre stage, with MotionScan as the director. Of course it includes action in the form of fire fights and chase sequences, but L.A. Noire should be played for its atmosphere, many intrigues and the fact that you can get wonderfully caught up in that web.- Gamer.nl

Monster Hunter Generations respects its roots, but makes a big difference in character customization. This might not be the best choice for newcomers, but veterans can enjoy this game for many months to come.- Gamer.nl

For only 1200 Microsoft Points you will get one of the best, most original and humoristic puzzle games ever to be constructed. But keep in mind that the game takes a big chunck out of your hard drive and that The Orange Box is also available for a very decent price. Nevertheless, Portal: Still Alive is an absolute must-buy for anyone that hasn't played the game on the PC.- Gamer.nl

Even on PC Max Payne 3 is an excellent game. You have the option to crank up the graphics to higher levels and the action is just a little bit more intense with mouse controls. Rockstar delivered with a great port, which misses some refinements with its multiplayer.- Gamer.nl

This game is a painful goodbye for the series. In many ways this is the best Metal Gear game thus far, with unique details, multiple ways of succeeding in missions and nearly perfect stealth gameplay. But, the story is messy and it feels unfinished.- Gamer.nl

FIFA 10 is a great football game. On almost every level it outclasses its predecessor, and that was already a fantastic game. The 360-degrees-system, the emphasis on physical elements and the improved passing-abilities ensure that this game appears even more realistic on your screen. With the adding of some interesting game-modes and the improvements over the last game, FIFA 10 is the best football game up to this date.- Gamer.nl

There may be no titans in it, but Xenoblade Chronicles 3 manages to stand head and shoulders above its predecessors. The gripping story and the almost perfected gameplay complement each other in a sublime way, thanks in part to a strong cast and a renewed and improved combat system.- Gamer.nl

Neon White wasn't on our radar, but turns out to be one of the best games of the year. The game continuously challenges you and your friends to go faster in the varied, but short and accessible levels. You don't have to do it for the story, but the brisk pace and fluid action will have you stuck in Neon White for hours on end. Especially if you like leaderboards.- Gamer.nl

Die-hards might have something to say about some of Relics choices, but even they can't deny the excellent real-time strategy game that is Dawn of War 3. It is rich in choices, has great production value and offers an amazing campaign.- Gamer.nl

Maxis does it again and delivers the best Sims game ever. By implementing a handful new gameplay elements, The Sims 3 now feels like an actual game. And without forgetting the players that just want to fiddle around a little bit. Making this one a lot more appealing to newcomers. The somewhat high price of new objects and the lack of accessories don't come as a surprise. The only thing left is the difficult, though pleasant, job of maintaining a second household besides your own.- Gamer.nl

The song 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' by Daft Punk describes inFamous 2 like no other. The story hits you harder than its predecessor did, the gameplay works better and faster and Cole feels stronger with his new powers. That the game isn't much deeper, is a fact you'll take for granted while taking over the world as a hero or villain.- Gamer.nl

Halo Infinite brings the series back to where it started twenty years ago. Back to the lone super soldier, a chatty AI companion and shootings that are bound to lead to a delicious chaos of colorful explosions and screaming aliens. Back to a surprisingly smooth-playing multiplayer, where thanks to the same chaos no two games are the same. Back to a game we want to keep playing indefinitely.- Gamer.nl

Dead Space is an excellent remake, but above all a great horror game. It therefore does not matter whether you already know the USG Ishimura like the back of your hand, or whether this is your first adventure with Isaac Clarke. The graphical renovation and numerous major and minor adjustments are of course welcome, but it's the unpredictability, the seamless experience and the bone-chilling sound that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.- Gamer.nl

Studio Liverpool delivers a great bang for you buck. When all new circuits, modes en versions of existing ships are taken in account you can do the math: the original games' content has doubled. Minor flaws can cause some annoyance, but are compensated by all the other things Fury delivers. Wipeout HD just got even better.- Gamer.nl

After a pretty slow second episode Life is Strange 2 is back with a great middle piece. Circumstances force the two brothers to grow up in two different ways. Thanks to the interesting new characters, setting and tension this is the best episode to date.- Gamer.nl

With new activities and subtle changes to the base concept offers New Leaf a very addicting forest-adventure that rises above its predecessors. No day feels the same, because the game makes subtle suggestions at the right times to prevent a drag from setting in to your virtual life. One day you’re collecting money for charitable works, the next you’ll be completing a museum collection or shaking a coconut tree. Everything you’re doing feels like an adventure you sought out on your own, which is a pretty impressive achievement for a game with such a soft and pleasant exterior.- Gamer.nl

Nier is as awesome as it is obscure. A game that will be hated by simpletons for its bold approach to the action-rpg genre, and loved by anyone in their right mind for exactly the same reason. The oddly loveable cast, the myriad of different gameplay-concepts (ranging from old school to sheer genius) and the awesome soundtrack make Nier into a roughly hewn diamond, brilliantly shining as the surprise of the year.- Gamer.nl

"Aion is an extraordinary MMORPG. Both the PvPvE-concept and presentation of the game are fantastic. Story-wise and gameplay-wise the game feels finished. Combined with the hundred hours that it will take to play through the game, Aion: The Tower of Eternity is an unforgettable experience which every MMORPG player should experience.- Gamer.nl

When the bullets pass by your ears, mortars fall on your hiding spot and tanks open fire on you, you know enough: you’re in a Battlefield-game. Bad Company 2 delivers with a superb multiplayer, perhaps making it the best online shooter currently available. The singleplayer isn’t as polished, but we can forgive the developer.- Gamer.nl

Science-fiction movie fans already had movies like Star Wars and Star Trek. Mass Effect 2 manages to finally give a big sci-fi epic to gamers. Thanks to the beautiful visual effects, the game shows a realistic and convincing way of telling an interactive story. On top of that, the game improves upon almost all of the mistakes of its predecessor, though some players might feel the game lacks some more profound RPG-elements.- Gamer.nl
