Metaphor: ReFantazio takes bold steps with an entirely new fantasy world, philosophical questions, an expansive combat system full of different options, and an extraordinarily intriguing story.

BioShock: Infinite isn’t just one of the best games of 2013, but also of the twenty-first century. The themes and storytelling are unparalleled and are approached from multiple points of view, without being at the expense of the first-person shooter-action. Besides, BioShock: Infinite is a title that gamers really needed after all these years.

Capcom has no trouble in fulfilling the expectation that was hovering over the new installment of the Street Fighter franchise. It's going to be a tough job for the developer to improve this superb version of Street Fighter. The only thing that we can do now is to make a deep bow for Capcom and Street Fighter IV. Currently the best fighting game there is.

God of War Ragnarök is more God of War, but in the best way possible. If you enjoyed the last game and wonder if the sequel meets expectations, than the short answer is: yes. You won't be disappointed.

The singleplayer knows no competition and the multiplayer and brilliant Special Ops-mode make Modern Warfare 2 a phenomenal package. There are truly some scenes in the game that can affect the way you think and feel. After five games, the series seems to have found its high mark. One of the best shooters ever.

Amazing fights, a great eye for detail and one of the most important videogame stories ever told. The Last of Us Part 2 is the best PS4 exclusive and everything we ever wanted.

Chinatown Wars is Grand Theft Auto as it should be on a handheld. Missions are relatively short, you can always save and the point of view gives you that classical feeling. Even the use of the stylus feels like a true addition to the gameplay. And we haven't even talked about the great multiplayer, tons of details and the new 'drug-trading' mode. It's obvious that GTA: Chinatown Wars keeps the franchise going in pocket size.

Pac-Man has received a facelift. The well-known bleeps that we know and love are now accompanied by a technobeat, the pace of the game is much faster and neonlights give the game a modern look. More importantly, the old concept of the game has been altered so that there's an original twist in every level.

This is a triumph in almost every way. This is the most detailed, deepest and most elaborate VR game yet. No other VR game has so much variety and depth at the same time, combined with such a perfect tempo.

Braid is unique. It's a brilliant little puzzler that takes you on a great, confusing and challenging adventure. The music will still sound in your head for days after playing. Backwards. Get this game, you’ll love it.

Super Mario 3D World is a strong and beautiful sequel to 3D Land, but after the amazing heights of the Galaxy games this console platformer feels somewhat more like a step back: the gameplay doesn't allow for many new elements anymore. Despite that disappointment, 3D World is a varied and balanced adventure where newcomers and veterans alike will find many hours of good old fashioned fun.

Wings of Liberty is one of those games PC-gamers have been waiting a long time for. The huge single-player and incredibly balanced multiplayer make for a very complete package. Here's to another twelve years of Starcraft, even if you're not a huge fan of RTS-games (yet).

Being able to finally play God of War on PC is mighty, but select choices make it seem like Kratos is begrudgingly lent. Technically speaking, the port is quite successful, but it won't do anything more than what is strictly necessary. Today's PCs can do so much more - think of a generous photo mode or broader control options - but apart from a few visual adjustments, a lot of potential for an exemplary port is eluded.

Minecraft may not look the part, but what it lacks in fancy bells and whisles, it more than makes up for through sheer depth. Creative players can spend countless hours building, while real adventurers will go on to explore the game world. And best of all, thanks to numerous updates it gets even bigger and better.

Fallout 3 will probably end up being one of the best games of 2008 and, in it's one unique way, a worthy sequel in the Fallout series. Bethesda takes essential gameplay elements from the original Fallout games and gives these elements a new twist. The Fallout 3 gameplay is perfectly executed and Capital Wasteland offers a fantastic world in which you'll find plenty to discover, even after spending dozens of hours in this world. Gamers, hide in your bombshelter and don't resurface before you've played Fallout 3.

We're getting a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of Cliffy B interviews, quotes and other Cliff related stuff that have roamed the world wide web the past few weeks. But in all fairness, Gears of War 2 is a more than worthy sequel of its predeccesor. The co-op mode is still a very attractive part of the game, and the same goes for the Horde mode. With more enemies, more levels and especially more blood it offers just what you expect from a sequel. The game rarely suprises, but it hurls enough cannon fodder towards you that it will blow you away.

Mass Effect 3 is an emotional rollercoaster ride with lots of tension and moving moments. The threat of the Reapers make every decision a hard one and your relationship with other characters will be tested. This, in combination with tight gameplay, makes this the complete experience.

This game is a painful goodbye for the series. In many ways this is the best Metal Gear game thus far, with unique details, multiple ways of succeeding in missions and nearly perfect stealth gameplay. But, the story is messy and it feels unfinished.

It's been a long time since a game grabbed me like Hades. It has been even longer since I played a game that seemed to keep getting better. With almost fifty hours on the counter, I know exactly what to expect from Hades. But nothing makes me want to stop playing, a sentiment that facilitates the endgame very well. Hades is a rare total package. Never before have I dared to recommend a game so easily. 2020 is a difficult year. Treat yourself.

Resident Evil 4 takes everything that was good about the original game and puts it in a shiny new look. The end result is just as action-packed as before, just a little more creepy and, above all, much, much more beautiful. Despite that, the game doesn't really innovate anywhere, making it unlikely that this remake will have the same impact as its illustrious predecessor.
