Monster Hunter Rise gets a third life on Sony and Microsoft consoles and succeeds, with a few bumps in the road. If you can't take away the fact that it's extremely generous, devilishly enjoyable and relatively clean visually, you also tend to think that there could have been more.

Ghost Trick is a fantastic adventure / puzzle game, and its iOS version doesn't lose any of its strengths next to the original DS version. This is a must-have, perfectly suited to the touch interface, and what's more : the two first chapters are free, the rest can be purchased in-app if you want to finish the story, manipulating the hhost of the hero to possess objects and change the destiny of the other characters of this well-crafted story.

Rayman Legends arrives on PS Vita with a little delay and without invasion's levels. Fortunately, these levels will be added soon, for free. Despite loading times a bit longer than on other platforms (but very acceptable), Rayman Legends offers a touch gameplay perfectly suited to the console. It will be appreciated by the opportunity to play with a friend with asymmetric gameplay, one using the touchscreen, the other the traditional controls. Probably the best platformer on PS Vita.

Visually stunning, Forza 6 is a must have for any car lover. The physics and the gameplay will make you love every corner of its circuits... and this time it does it with many more cars and tracks, a better Career Mode and (finally !) rain and night conditions. We regret that those conditions are not dynamic and not offered for every track, that endurance racing is still far from perfect and that we would love to have a penalty system for cutting corners or dangerous driving, but Forza 6 is still a fantastic racing game.

Donkey Kong Country Returns was clearly made by fans for fans of the original on the Super Nintendo. For trained gamers, indeed. Because behind its alluring colors and refreshing world and atmosphere, lies a spicy challenge, sometimes even a cruel one. Not all levels are as such, but two types specifically aren't as precisely tuned as the others, and become somewhat frustrating. But the experience is undoubtedly well thought, blessed by inspired mechanics, even if its diversity remains below the original. A great game, but not a Royal one.

Congrats Treyarch, you passed the test. Black Ops still has some technical flaws (some erratic scripts), but it doesn't lack ambition, variety, nor freshness. Its solo campaign boasts a good scenario, and its multiplayer is as comprehensive and solid as ever, while changing some basic systems for the better and introducing soon-to-be-cult new modes, as well as community features one could only find in the latest Halo iterations before. There may be ways to improve it yet again, but the 2010 CoD delivers on its promise - we can't say anymore that Treyarch's Call of Dutys don't measure up.

Deathloop is a unique mix between FPS, sci-fi and mystery in a 70's case. Trapped in a time loop, Colt Vahn must understand and memorize every nook and cranny of a strange island and it's strange cast of vilains. Despite some kind of redundancy in its last hours, Deathloop is an intelligent, beautiful, singular and well-written adventure not to miss.

Like an arrow, local multiplayer cannot reach people further than the neighborhood, but that doesn't make it inefficient, particularly through close combat. Hence Towerfall Ascension proves how powerful archery can be, provided that it relies on a masterful execution and a sizeable army. With such a large choice of weapons and a clever use of terrain, the most desperate situations can be overcome, even alone. Thanks to warlord Matt Thorson - the creator of this amazing battle alchemy - here's a great reason to renew local rivalries and appreciate all kinds of human relations, friendly or not.

It's already an artistic achievement to build such a unique, fabulous world out of paper, but some wizardry of design prowess is required to use this material's physical properties in order to craft such astounding gameplay mechanics, with the PlayStation Vita as the main magical tool. Tearaway ventures even further, since it exploits the bond established between the character and the player through a narrative process, their interactions blurring the lines of virtual reality at the same time. Whether it's made from digital or vegetal matter, paper is still a fundamental medium to express creativity. And that might just be the message sent by Media Molecule with this lovely letter.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is a huge update of a remarkable richness and generosity. With even more covered games and music, and still effective mechanics, it will hypnotize music game lovers and Final Fantasy fans alike. An ode to the composers who built the reputation of the license and an infinite pleasure difficult to sulk. A bis repetita which catches like a siren song.

Psychonauts 2 is another great entry in the series, a action-platformer that can look a bit stiff and not very challenging, but has a lot of surface to explore and motivates us to explore every corner thanks to its incredible art direction, stellar characters and story. One of the most refreshing games of 2021.

With this new port, Capcom reminds us just how pivotal Resident Evil 7 is in its now thirty-year-old saga. The claustrophobic setting of a dysfunctional family and the switch to a first-person perspective create an oppressive atmosphere that is just as compelling on Nintendo Switch 2. Furthermore, the hybrid hardware delivers impressive technical performance that perfectly preserves the original experience, with masterful pacing and meticulous level design. All in all, this is a nightmarish new version that we're delighted to dive back into.

No need to Argue, Continuum Shift is a real gem, like its predecessor was. Its 2D visuals are more impressive than ever, is gameplay modes comprehensive, its characters unique and the changes they went through balanced the game enough to make it one of the top fighting games on HD consoles. Even the Online Versus play has been enhanced, and is now more comfortable, with solo play in-between duels like in SSFIV. Last but not least, BBCS has tutorial modes and a system to ease some combos, to ease in newcomers and make it more accessible.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is a great experience and an excellent add-on to Diablo III. With the Adventure mode and Nephalem's Rift, Blizzard erases almost perfectly every inherent problems of Hack'n Slash games. It's actually quite difficult to find real defects in this add-on.

An excellent and spectacular football game. New animations and more accurate physical interactions bring to the last edition formula some great ways to play - that remind us of the glorious era of PES. A.I., especially attackers and keepers, can be relied on, it's smooth, fun to play and quite deep, and there's a lot for players to master in terms of construction and tactical options. It lacks some novelty in terms of game modes, but on the field, with all those improvements, it acts like a champion.

Rather old-school in its approach, Rayman Origins still remains a game that fits well with today's standards. Its gorgeous, blessed by an exceptional soundtrack, it's beyond reproach in terms of fine-tuned gameplay, for a 2D platform approach that's super rich, and intense in terms of challenge. As fun and enticing in solo play as it is in multiplayer, it has almost no shortcoming.

This new Black & White pair of Pokémon games take the necessary and welcome step further in evolving the series. The gameplay's more dynamic thanks to the combat in threes, 3D integration is perfect, new animations for the little animals are welcomed. Communications and trading are easier than ever thanks to new online features. And since the dialogs are better written, and often funny... No doubt remains, Black & White are able to paint new, revived colors on the famous licence!

Thanks to Dispatch, AdHoc and the Telltale veterans who comprise it brought back the episodic narrative game format that made this legendary studio famous with flying colors. The story of Robert and the Z-Team is a constant delight, driven by incredibly endearing characters, phenomenal voice acting, and stunning art direction, all within a fast-paced narrative entirely dictated by our choices. The game also shines with its incredibly addictive and intuitive management mechanics, which perfectly put us in the shoes of a team leader of rookies who will eventually become true superheroes, though this aspect loses some of its appeal once the initial surprise of the first playthrough wears off. This clever mix is, in any case, the indie gem we anticipated, and we now cannot wait to see the Z-Team for a potential second season ! We are nevertheless following the upcoming projects of this promising young studio with great interest.

A year or so after the release of Sonic Mania comes Sonic Mania Plus, a version that adds new stuff like 2 more playable characters - Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the squirrel (who is not very pleasant), a competition mode for 4 players and more importantly Bis Mode that let us discover redesigned levels, great for those who know the original by heart. And it's still an extraordinary platformer for the blue hedgehog's fans.
