If you are looking for a slightly darker and edgier version of God of War then look no further than Dante’s Inferno. What it lacks in gameplay originality it more than makes up for with style and substance, painting a dark and sinister portrait of a literary classic and creating a gameplay experience that you won’t soon forget.

Through my adventure I found several things that I wasn’t a fan of but the things that I did like pretty much overcame the negatives, The folks over at Cryptic obviously put a lot of time and care into creating a wonderfully detailed world and it shows with every explosion, dust storm covered planet, asteroid belt and star cruiser.

Sure there are the usual hiccups such as localization but for the most part White Knight Chronicles is a solid title with some room to grow as far as the online portion of it is concerned.

There is a lot of presentation but not much substance and the whole game comes off as something that would be better played on my iPhone than my Xbox. This leisurely puzzle games just don’t work that well on the console, especially when there is no multiplayer support or reason to play past the first pass.

    MAG
If you are tired of all the juvenile running and gunning of the Call of Duty and Battlefield franchises and are looking for something deeper, more tactical, and certainly more rewarding, then MAG is certainly worth a look.

At the end of the day…the 40th Day, Army of Two offers enough fun and action and cinematic set pieces to earn a solid recommendation as a rental.

I loved the small hidden references throughout the title that made be just laugh to myself or in one case tell by friends about.

Matt Hazard: Blood Bath & Beyond is 1200 points ($15) on XBLA, which is admittedly a bit salty for what is ultimately a rather repetitive shooter.

I can only imagine the sequel and hopefully the chance to play as one or more of the other Horsemen, but until that day arrives, Darksiders is the ultimate quest for vengeance and a heavenly way to dispatch the endless demon hordes, proving once and for all that it is better to serve in heaven than rule in hell.

The puzzles were challenging, the story mode was comical and reminded me a bit of Sonic, and I had a blast playing with friends in the Survival mode.

Puzzlegeddon offers considerable fun for people of all ages with some surprisingly deep gameplay lurking under its simplistic graphics. It may not be for everyone, so download the trial before deciding to buy, but I think that the 800 points (or about $10) is well worth the price for the fun you'll have.

Obviously, The Saboteur isn't representative of the peak of next-gen gaming but for my money, this is the most fun and addictive gameplay I've experienced in 2009, and I'll probably be pulling it off the shelf in 2010 to work on those secondary targets.

All said, Call of Duty Classic won’t win any awards 7 years later – but at $15, it’s not like the game is promising all that much. Still, given the fact that there are plenty of sub-$20 current games for sale, Classic is really only for those who truly want to relive 2003-era gameplay.

I really enjoyed the combat especially on the Na’vi side. The multiplayer was cool with its well designed levels and various modes.

Scanning the web, there is no question that a number of Pro Skater veterans are miffed by Ride’s complete overhaul of their series – but then again, those same folks would be similarly unhappy with another rehash of the nine previous releases. It’s nice to see the series take a new direction – but it definitely could stand a bit more tweaking.

After a decade of jumping on arrows, shaking maracas, and pointing out grooves onscreen, I think I am finally burned out on dance games. I had hopes that Just Dance might help revive my interest in the genre, but sadly it only made things worse. Just Dance just isn’t that great of a game, period.

JumpStart Escape from Adventure Island will probably never win an award from any of the critical masses. But the game is a big hit with the intended folks, and is a surprisingly solid learning game.

Overall, the Sims 3 World Adventures sets an excellent standard for future expansions, introducing a fun and rewarding mode of play to the base game that, while markedly different from the core gameplay, still remains true to the spirit of The Sims series.

Infinity Ward delivers the "greatest hits" of action movies with references to Cliffhanger, Red Dawn, The Rock, and even Spies Like Us. You’re fighting in the arctic one minute and crossing the desert the next, or you might be performing a rescue operation on a terrorist-controlled offshore oil platform or infiltrating a Russian submarine base.

I suppose the game will ultimately find its limited audience, but for the majority, this is a track pack of fun, lighthearted, and easy songs wrapped up in a LEGO-style design that is starting to wear out its welcome.
