  1. Like all of the Jump Start products, Escape From Adventure Island is a quality product that would be a welcome addition to any family’s library of Wii games.

Sure, it didn't make Spike's VGA list, but Escape from Adventure Island is a hit with its target audience. Rest assured, your 5-9 year old will enjoy the game - and the learning.
  3. JumpStart Escape from Adventure Island will probably never win an award from any of the critical masses. But the game is a big hit with the intended folks, and is a surprisingly solid learning game.
  4. Personally I feel the title could have benefited greatly with a little more polish, but for its target audience, the faults are far less important. If you are a parent or sibling looking for a wholesome and educational title to buy, this is your game.
  5. It is fun, educational and entertaining. Yes, there are some flaws, but they are not serious enough to fail this game.
  6. Jump Start: Escape from Adventure Island has good intentions and a noble goal: to teach via the fun and accessibility of the Wii. But its gameplay feels rushed, and its less-than-inspired presentation put a very disappointing damper on things.

At the time I was only 8 years old and couldn't tell you the difference between a good and a bad game. Random terrible mobile games were just as fun to me as actually good games, like Mario Galaxy and Legend of Zelda. Even with all this I could still tell this game was god awful. I used to be a big fan of the online game Jumpstart back then, would play it with my friends all the time. When I heard about there being a game for the Wii like it I was ecstatic and begged my mom to get it. Imagine my shock when I first start playing it and immediately die of boredom. There is nothing fun about this game, the only redeeming quality is that seeing it reminded me of fun experiences in my childhood, like raising pet aliens, flying on dragons, crafting potions, or shooting myself out of a cannon for cash in the online game.

Don't buy this unless you are looking to torture yourself, if you buy this for your child they will hate you forever.

Edit: this inspired me to check out jumpstart online. All the servers are shut down. I'm sad.
