  1. Call of Duty Classic has taken a big part in shaping the genre into what it is today. As out-dated as it may look it has nostalgic qualities to it and for 1,200 Microsoft Points it’s worth every penny for a true fan.

A genuine classic that's worth another look. [Feb 2010, p.104]

Truth is, $15 is a good price for a fun game, but I'm still not sure why you would choose to spend it here.

    Better as a historical document than a contemporary first-person shooter. [Issue#55, p.104]
  5. It's the same game you've already played in its more advanced form, making this more of an academic exercise in gaming genealogy.

Brilliant in 2003, Call of Duty is an old man in a young man's world. [Christmas 2009, p.118]

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. me I enjoy the first Call of Duty the most because of its difficulty. This game PROVES just how much we've been babied by developers because of the whole "hide behind a corner to gain health" idea. Beating this game on Veteran was probably the hardest thing to do not only on the original PC version but on this Xbox remake as well......!!!! Expand

It's an old game, but it was fun. It was difficult and as an achievement hunter I poured hours on that 100% but it was worth it. It's a true classic.

The original 2003 classic that launched this huge franchise. While this game is obviously graphically bad compared to these days' games, the core Call of Duty experience still exists in COD Classic. The multiplayer is pretty average, but the campaign is very well done. Get this game if you are a fan of COD, or simply enjoy FPS titles. Expand
