Even after four years, Bayonetta's frantic action, relentless combos and spectacular antics remain a solid playable wonder which no Wii U should go without. The additional Nintendo-related bonuses only make this version ever more desirable and an even bigger reason to jump into this gem.

Luigi's Mansion 3 may not feature the greatest plot ever written but even if its controls are not top-notch, this is undoubtedly a marvelous game that features plenty of things to do, as well as lots of moments that are strong in both humour and gloom. Its gorgeous visual environment and exquisite soundtrack make a big contribution as well, for a result that is nothing short of a remarkable game that could only improve if it was more daring in its innovative qualities.

Gunman Clive’s transition to the Wii U brings virtually the same two games that were previously released on the 3DS with almost nothing else to present other than a technically competent HD conversion and remarkable sound upgrade. Beyond that, there’s nothing else to point out: a simple compilation, that’s what Gunman Clive on the Wii U is all about.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D brings to the New 3DS what was one of the best games released for the Wii in all its JRPG glory. While some technical aspects are clearly downgraded, this does not affect the overall experience of the game and with an enormous gameplay and world to explore, this Xenoblade port is an excellent opportunity for newcomers.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright could very well be an outstanding chapter in a series that is cherished for its narratives and gameplay mechanics. Unfortunately Birthright falls down before it reaches its goal. Its very good production values and sharp combats openly clash with an uninspired and dull narrative, poorly implemented difficulty curve, generic and empty characters and the simple fact that it just doesn't work as a stand alone game in the first place.

The HD release of Twilight Princess brings all the splendour of the original game to the contemporary age, with a much deserved high definition refurbishing and very welcome mechanics unique to the Wii U. Its structure and fundamentals remain untouched and Twilight Princess HD is as much of a monumental game today as it was upon its original release.

A rhythm game requires intuitive controls and a good sense of progression and Thumper provides both. Players will have to pay close attention to their surroundings, especially to the sound, as their timing will have to be on the spot in order to advance and thanks to its gameplay mechanics, this is a game that easily seduces those who let themselves be wooed by catchy rhythms.

Slay the Spire feels like a breath of fresh air that joins elements from card-based and roguelike games, which in principle may not sound like a winning formula but Slay the Spire gets it all right thanks to its combat system, lifespan and unpredictability of each experience. The result is an addictive experience that players of all tastes should enjoy.

Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling was made as a tribute to the Paper Mario series and in an attempt to recapture the spirit of the first game of the series. While Bug Fables does not succeed in this purpose, it does deliver a good game, with an addictive combat, well structured plot (and a lot of dialogues), as well as game world that's a marvel to look at. So while the more spiritual goal to pay tribute to Nintendo's series went off the mark, the secondary objectives to make a good game are undoubtedly successful.

Adapting this immense, lengthy and content-packed experience into a handheld format without harming its qualities is worth of every compliment and despite its technical concessions coming into full view when played on a television screen, the privilege of having The Witcher 3 in the Nintendo Switch and with all its content makes it a compulsory purchase.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 takes the original game's qualities and improves on them to deliver a vast, open world with more possibilities when it comes to progression, city-building and interaction with the other characters. West of Loathing is something particular. An adventure RPG with a bare simple art style and full of humour in a wild west setting...and it works, anyone who enjoys a good dose of humour, plenty of text, an absurd plot and who doesn't mind the rather uninspired combat system will have enough content here to go through the entire game and even to forget about the main story and get lost in all the side quests.

Neurovoider takes a bold step forward and brings RPG and shooting elements into a roguelike game, a recipe that works surprisingly well. Action-packed, frantic and nerve-wrecking at times, Neurovoider could use a more balanced sense of progression and difficulty but it's certainly on the right path.

Darkest Dungeon is an ambitious game that features impressive details, a very complete and thorough atmosphere and a complex gameplay. Its experience ends up getting harmed by the arbitrary factors that come into play on certain moments and the overall difficulty level can be quite hard in the beginning of the game but there is no mistake in regarding Darkest Dungeon as major title within the indie scene.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a surprising and unlikely game - or perhaps surprisingly unlikely, as it offers fun and engaging combats, a good variety of characters and abilities to choose from and a series of mechanics that will make many players interested in a tactical turn-based RPG crossover featuring Mario and the Raving Rabbids. Upon realizing all this, the most pressing question would be: why hasn't anybody thought of this before?
