The versatility of the Kirby franchise is only surpassed by Kirby's capacity to absorb enemies and their respective abilities. Triple Deluxe, however, does not go all the way through and is rather an example of a classic Kirby game transplanted to the 3DS. Level design starts to show some fatigue but Kirby and his enemies are as delightful as ever in their colourful ways and 3D depth perception effects.

Armello is not trying to bring down the giants of strategy games but that doesn't mean it doesn't stand on its own feet and Armello features plenty of options, an attractive visual environment and a competitive level of difficulty. On the downside, its plot isn't very appealing and its tutorials and rules can feel excessive but the game offers enough to keep players enjoying themselves.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus is essentially an expanded version of its predecessor and one which does a very competent job at bringing the Pac-Man experience back, with all its frantically addictive gameplay that made the very first game an immortal classic, now with a cooperative multiplayer experience. While some more additions would be appreciated, this edition is certainly very welcome to the Nintendo Switch catalog, where it will find its place among the fans.

With a gameplay that is as easy to learn as it is addictive and an immense variety of puzzles, made even bigger by the puzzle editor, Pullblox World has all the conditions to become a very welcome member of any Wii U family.

Badland: Game of the Year Edition is a successful example of how a game designed for mobile devices can be interesting to play on the Wii U. Despite its inconsistencies and the lack of a solid plot, its gameplay provides some brilliant moments and the game is full of content and compelling ideas.

Layers of Fear Legacy features a simple and accessible gameplay mechanic that puts the player in a horror-themed adventure that includes a very detailed and well-designed visual environment, as well as some interesting puzzles. It doesn't live up to its full potential, though, as it could be much more immersive and feature more action moments and after some game time, it feels somewhat less appealing.

With the challenge lying mostly on the difficulty levels and on the game modes, Chess Ultra performs remarkably on all fronts thanks to its variety of game modes, its difficulty levels adjusted to the players' skills and high quality audiovisual environment, with magnificent attention to detail.

Indivisible brings together elements of a Metroidvania type of game with those of an RPG and the result is a resounding success. Despite its poorly paced plot, the game's marvelous audiovisual environment, its exploration and combat system and the overall humorous tone of the entire game make this a work that deserves players to put their energy into it, now that it was released in a proper way.

Shantae and the Seven Sirens could have been the best game in the series. It is not, mostly because of its undemanding difficulty level, unhelpful map and lacklustre soundtrack, but Seven Sirens is still a very enjoyable game with an overall experience that will welcome both newcomers and veterans alike, a lovely visual presentation and a well designed level structure. Yet another welcome arrival to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Original in its mechanics and fostering creative solutions when it comes to puzzle solving, Waking Violet also features an original visual artwork and design. A game that puzzle fans are certain to enjoy, Waking Violet is a very welcome addition to the ever growing Nintendo Switch library.

Valfaris does not have to make perfect sense to be a good game and while its plot is rather basic and its gameplay doesn't always feel perfectly fluid, there's enough to this chaotic action platformer with a sci-fi and heavy metal theme to make it stand out. Thanks to its marvelous visual environment, metal-based soundtrack and variety of action moments, Valfaris is nothing short of a fun delight for fans of absurd, violent and chaotic action.

Detention has a flair of the first horror-themed videogames and with its emphasis on the plot, along with its involving visual and sound effects creates an unforgettable setting for the players. Overall, this is one of the best experiences of the kind that can be found in the Nintendo Switch eShop, thanks to its well-crafted plot, art style, simple but effective gameplay mechanics and involving audiovisual component.

GoNNER stands out for its peculiarity, its merciless difficulty level and the audiovisual experience that it provides. While it may not be a game for everyone, it's definitely a game that should be tried by as many players as possible - like it or not, nobody will be indifferent to GoNNER's elements.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto may be landing a few years late on the Nintendo Switch but this fourth chapter in this particular Naruto series of games has plenty to go for. With a fluid, intense combat, an impressive array of characters and an art style that is faithful to that found in the animation series, this is a game that is at the same time considerate of newcomers and which will make veterans and fans feel right at home.

Its journey, through a heavy, grey and gritty world, acts as a good example of how a dramatic connection between the player and the game can be achieved, and while the experience could certainly last longer, this is a work that will be very welcomed by players of all tastes.

The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors often feels like a tribute to the sidescrolling beat'em-ups of the 1980s and 1990s and it does a remarkably good job at that. With its cast of very distinct characters, a marvelous audio atmosphere and high quality animations, this remake and/or sequel will be unquestionably appreciated by beat'em-up fans (and beyond) and is easily one of the best games of its genre on the Nintendo Switch.

The Touryst, a relaxing adventure, if that's possible to do. An adventure with dungeons and puzzles in the background of a lovely summer holiday, with gorgeous graphics and a varied, relaxing gameplay is what comes in this package and it works remarkably well. The game is short and it skips the whole epic side of adventure games but The Touryst is definitely an exquisite gem which more than deserves a chance.

Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn is essentially a remastered version of Kirby's Epic Yarn, with a few tweaks when it comes to some new moves and the loss of the co-op component. Beyond that, the game remains the same: a very easy effort, which was mostly designed to be used as relaxation, rather than as a challenging, competitive piece of gaming and while it does a very good job at its primary goal, it might be too easy for players looking for something more compelling.

Yoshi's Crafted World continues the line that Nintendo has been treading when it comes to 2D platformers of the Yoshi series: visually stunning and with plenty of interactivity, the game also features a healthy lifespan and plenty of objects to collect. Yet another classic in this successful new incarnation of Nintendo's favourite dinosaur.

Pokkén Tournament DX builds on the original game and improves it in a way that is not revolutionary but gives enough reasons to feature on a good Nintendo Switch collection. Thanks to its simple combat system, an improved visual performance and online multiplayer, Pokkén Tournament DX is the ultimate form of this fighting game that throws Pokémon against each other.

Runbow is back to a Nintendo console and this edition for the Nintendo Switch brings a series of welcome elements, such as a simple but addictive gameplay, additional downloadable content, plenty of characters from the indie games world and online capabilities. While it feels too short when played on single player, Runbow is a very welcome arrival to the Switch catalogue.

Thanks to its sense of humour, character creation tool and multiplayer mode, this easily becomes one of the best indie games available on the Nintendo Switch and something that can provide many hours of fun to one, and especially two players.

Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! represent a different line in the Pokémon series. Reflecting a more accessible take, these two games make the experience more open to new players, while keeping several nostalgic and legacy factors intact for seasoned veterans. While not all is a resounding success, namely when it comes to its limited online component, uninteresting motion controls and an overall level of challenge that is below expectations, some of the games' new elements are more than likely to bring a fun, enjoyable time to players of all backgrounds.

Creative levels, an involving soundtrack and a long-lasting experience make Edge a title not to miss. Any flaws Edge might have are quickly overlooked for its sheer quality. A perfect choice for any gamers looking for a puzzle game combining platformer's elements.

All this cannot save it from being covered head to toe in the usual JRPG clichés, with flat uninteresting characters and very a predictable plot. Had these structural issues been addressed, Stella Glow could be a landmark in the 3DS catalogue. Instead, it's held down to being just a good game which doesn't fulfill its true potential.

Jotun: Valhalla Edition is a marvelous effort that clearly stands out amidst the indie games pool. With its rich visual environment, very engaging boss battles, extremely demanding combats that will require full commitment from the player and recurrent replay value, this is a game that will certainly keep everyone clinging on to their Wii U GamePad for a very long time.

This crossover between Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright brings the best of two worlds into one game. With its very well thought and executed concept, Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright is set to charm fans of both series alike. It does miss out, though, on the quantity and quality of the puzzles offered, as well as on the lacklustre outcome of its plot, perhaps a casualty of such an ambitious crossover.

Thomas Was Alone is somewhat of an incognita as a game. Its magnificent soundtrack and overall audio work will marvel the players but the gameplay mechanics should have been much better executed and its occasional technical flaws don’t help at making the experience more pleasant.
