Made in Unreal Engine by a single man, Song of Iron is a product that thrives on light and shadow, a certainly remarkable accomplishment that however failed to fully satisfy us on the playful front. Fans of adventures steeped in Norse mythology and out-of-the-box twists would do well to give it a chance - especially if at a discount - but those who expected a more complex and refined experience in terms of platforming and combat system would do well to weigh with attention to the critical issues of the game. Having said that, we hope that Joe Winter and his Resting Relic can follow up on Song of Iron and this time with some extra help, so as to fully exploit the potential of the ideas behind the progenitor.

Capcom aims to make a new generation of players appreciate the work done by Inafune two decades ago. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection proposes a dozen well-maintained titles embellished by an online sector, a mode that makes the fights less harsh and a couple of goodies (patch cards, for example) that veterans of the Game Boy Advance/ Nintendo DS will appreciate. Someone will complain about the lack of some famous spin-offs, but the package offered puts more than 200 hours of gameplay on the plate (to really complete everything you will have to invest twice as much). In short, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is an unmissable opportunity to rediscover/recover one of the most underrated Game Boy Advance series. The only doubt concerns the price of the collection which is definitely not cheap (59.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is a really good game that combines solid game mechanics with a beautiful cel shading graphic style. The accuracy of the plot, inspired to the 2nd saga of Naruto, is truly unique in a tie-in game. Unfortunately is also an impediment for those who are not familiar with Masashi Kishimoto's work.

Soul Hackers is the sliver of an ancient past, oddly stuck in the line-up of today's 3DS. The remnant of a lost era, revived in its full greatness.

The simulation ambitions of the model offer a stimulating, demanding, satisfying driving experience, at times almost instructive, yet never frustrating and able to welcome even novices, thanks to the flexibility and effectiveness of the aids.

The gameplay satisfies and the simplicity of the experience is a strong point. If we add to this the replayability offered by the extra modes, it is undeniable that this is a little gem not to be missed, thanks to the extremely low price.

The fact remains that it is once again one of those titles that once bought can easily remain installed all year round and that can be an excellent choice to be interspersed with other video games in those days when you wake up with a little of nostalgia for drifting in the mud of Chile or for the breathtaking jumps of the Rally of Finland for a bit of unpretentious fun even for those who do not have a cutting-edge driving position but want to have fun even only with the pad which, incidentally, performs quite well despite the Dualsense functions being only half exploited.

Forgive Me Father is a Doom-clone like many have been seeing of late. A concentrate of extreme splatter, comic graphics, Lovecraftian suggestions and some small RPG ambitions that however end up collapsing under the weight of some anachronistic and superficial game and level design choices.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page offers a touching experience, able to lead the players to identify with the experience of the little protagonist. A powerful and talented narrative that unfolds its effectiveness especially when you find yourself treading the handwritten ink words on your diary in small steps, capable of evoking snapshots that are both daily and suggestive. With more structured gameplay and a higher level of challenge, the adventures of Izzy and the heroine of the world of Estoria could have shone a brighter light, taking the delicate indie to higher heights. Despite this, Lost Words: Beyond the Page remains a title that we absolutely feel to recommend to enthusiasts looking for a genuinely exciting journey, able to fascinate - even if for a few hours - with its delicate watercolor shades.

NHL 22 finally brings the series to the next-gen: the beginning is encouraging but we are still far from the magnificence that had characterized the EA series for long periods in its first thirty years of life.

Unfortunately, some technical uncertainties make the inexperience of the creative choices of the English studio and author much less effective, but the work remains a fresh and original idea both for shifts lovers and for more pure action, succeeding in each case to build a satisfying and balanced play structure.

After the remake of the first Pac-Man World, it was reasonable to assume that Bandai Namco would continue the nostalgia drive, and the forty-fifth anniversary of Pac-Man was the perfect time to re-release the second installment in the series to attract as much attention as possible. There's no denying that a certain amount of effort went into Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, which not only revamped the game's technical features but also improved its controls, even offering some previously unseen extra content that proves useful in increasing the adventure's overall longevity. The problem is that the original game wasn't exactly the most engaging 3D platformer on the market when it was released in 2002, and the fact that this remake remains as faithful as possible to the original isn't the best business card considering 23 years have passed since then. Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a nostalgic journey designed for Pac-Man fans, but it doesn't pretend to match the quality of the best modern platformers out there.

Despite the eleven years on his shoulders, Sonic Colors is confirmed to be among the most interesting adventures of the polygonal "second life" of the hyperkinetic hedgehog. Enjoying it fully is still possible today, certainly thanks to its intrinsic qualities - level design, in particular - but also the efforts made by Blind Squirrel in packaging Ultimate: a very good level of remastering work, albeit perfectible, and a product that we recommend without delay, especially to those who have not had the opportunity to get lost in the colors of the old edition.

Despite a few technical flaws that currently penalize only the Nintendo Switch version, and that we hope will be resolved as soon as possible, Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is a good starting point for the intellectual property of Nippon Ichi Software, which for too many years had rested in deep oblivion. Confining ghosts is a gameplay dynamic that is damned complex and difficult to master, but given its uniqueness, it wouldn't surprise us at all if this allowed the franchise to compete with the best exponents of the genre. Even twenty years after the debut of the original, it would seem that Phantom Brave still has something to say and a lot to teach contemporary strategy games.
