The general difficulty, as repeated several times during this review, is undoubtedly higher than the average of contemporary products, but in the face of the goodness of the proposed experience we strongly advise you not to see it as an obstacle but as an opportunity to put yourself to the test and really understand what you're made of Good luck, you will need it!

Dark Souls 2 is a true masterpiece, and one of the best Action RPG of this generation. Extremely difficult and yet always rewarding, it shows an impressive "lore" and a finely balanced gameplay.

Assassin's Creed 2 is miles away form the first chapter. It's a whole new game, different in many aspects. The main quest is involving and nice to play, and the number of side mission and extra activities is impressive (and all of them are fun to play). The setting is peculiar and unique, and the panoramic views are sharp and, somehow, magic.

Animal Well is a unique experience that will appeal both to lovers of platformers with metroidvania elements and to those who appreciate creative puzzles and mysterious atmospheres. The fascinating visual style, combined with a very solid game system that is easy to learn and difficult to master, make it an unmissable title for those looking for an original, fun and highly replayable journey.

The new expansion for the critically acclaimed MMORPG is huge and massive. While new players should try it out without even thinking about it, the old users might not find the huge cataclysm it rumored to be. The content for the new leveling bracket looks a bit too familiar despite the excellent artistic and quest design endeavors. Overall the Cataclysm is definitly what a WoW-fan should expect from Blizzard but is not as cataclysmic as it first promised.

The sexiest virtual lady in the videogame industry is no longer Lara Croft. Bayonetta is a well packed game that mixes a beautiful, semi-naked, woman, tons of crazy action and a stunning artistic and graphic package. Platinum Games gave life at the greatest "pure" action game in this generation.

The core gameplay is the same of Partners in time, but a bright plot, new features (as touch-screen based minigames) and the correlation between the three main characters add variety to the Rhythm/RPG mechanics.

Rockstar North re-defines downloadable content standards, giving the players a huge game experience, that can compete with fully priced products. Obviously, gameplay mechanic and game structures are very similar to GTA IV ones; that means repetitious missions and variety lack. Anyway, a great plot, few changes in the base formula, and interesting characters make Lost & Damned an exciting expansion pack.

The experience offered by Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is cinematically all-encompassing: direction, music, interpretations (the dubbing in Italian is also convincing) are comparable to those of a blockbuster, and the revisiting of Spider-Man's imagery is superior even to the already excellent one of first chapter. We could discuss at length Kraven's charisma, the role of a powerful Venom, the intimate and perverse dimension of the symbiote but, clearly avoiding any spoiler, it is sufficient to reiterate how Insomniac has given shape to a high-school adventure, where playful soul and narrative move in symbiosis. There certainly remain some uncertainties inherited from the progenitor, yet the adjustments made to the formula and the greater quality of the secondary activities avoid the specter of the boring standardization of the open world, to give Marvel's Spider-Man 2 a lovably hybrid personality: that of a super blockbuster pop and, at the same time, auteur.

For better or worse, there is nothing like Destiny 2 and The Ultimate Forme has done nothing but remind us of this with great vehemence. Of course, this long journey was full of ups and downs, but it certainly cannot be said that it didn't have a worthy conclusion. The final expansion of the Bungie shooter is the best ever made to date and contains everything a fan desires: an unforgettable campaign, a whole new power, lots of new equipment and a really high amount of activities, especially if we add those that have just arrived with Episode 1, Echoes, which is proving to be more interesting than expected. In this regard, we ask you to apologize, but Failsafe draws our attention to Nessus, where we must return to fulfill our Guardian duties against the Vex.

The result is a Metroidvania-style platformer to be experienced, able to take your breath away both with its spectacular audiovisual performance and with its commendable all-round gameplay - for the occasion strengthened by a convincing action grain. Too bad for some burrs in the performance and in the general cleanliness of the code that compromise a vote that otherwise would have deserved to be even more bombastic.

Aside from a couple of hitches that don’t significantly alter the quality of the production, the PC version of God of War Ragnarok shows up to the gamers’ appointment in great shape, ready to drag the masses through the snows of Fimbulwinter. From a performance point of view, we’re talking about a product capable of adapting very well to a wide range of configurations, thanks to the precautions taken by Santa Monica already at the time of the first release. Although the gap between the PS5 and PC versions isn’t exceptionally wide, the overall performance of the porting pushes us to confirm without hesitation the evaluation given a couple of years ago, the same one also attributed to the porting of the previous chapter.
