We certainly appreciated both the expansion of the explorable scenarios, as well as that of the environmental enigmas that mark the progression, among the meshes of a world capable of kidnapping the senses in a continuous succession of breathtaking views. In short, net of some small roughness, the latest work by Santa Monica Studio has given us an extraordinary experience, destined to leave an indelible mark in the collective memory of the videogame audience. we certainly appreciated both the expansion of the explorable scenarios, as well as that of the environmental enigmas that mark the progression, among the meshes of a world capable of kidnapping the senses in a continuous succession of breathtaking views. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is must buy game. Infinity Ward, despite innovating the game, had listened to the players, taking the best features of the prequel and adding something new.

The Last of Us Part II is a monument to gaming and at the same time a productive miracle, which touches the same fate as its predecessor. That is, to close a generation by making it reach its peak, to immortalize it in a precious and painful memory: sharp as a blade, and priceless as a tear.

GTA Chinatown Wars is a little big revolution. Even played on DS, this title can compete with the home console version, for quality and innovation. A new fresh game that can be placed into the DS top title list.

Half-Life: Alyx is the new benchmark for future VR products. More generally, it is a magnificent game, the worthy heir of an immortal saga: an adventure that has nothing to envy among those episodes that have contributed to mark the history of gaming.

Haters will keep talking about "Starcraft HD" but what we have here is a glorious return, a modern, well balanced RTS, the second chapter of an epic saga. Newbies should practice a lot but then they'll be be part of the most complete and balanced multiplayer experience for an RTS.

Street Fighter IV is probably the best beat’em up of this generation. The gameplay mechanic can entertain who seek immediacy, but surely fulfills even the hardcore gamer needs, thanks to a deep system which involves Focus Attack Dash Cancel and impressive Juggle Combos. Technically speaking, the game is awesome. Maybe some players would not like the character design (gothic and grotesque), but it is perfect to revitalize the brand (following the post-modern artistic wave). A game developed with passion and method; probably the best “fan service” ever seen.

Hades was an undisputed masterpiece eleven months ago on PC and Nintendo Switch, and is reconfirmed as such also on the PlayStation and Xbox formats. The edition intended for the Sony and Microsoft platforms is in all respects identical to the original, with just appreciable improvements in terms of resolution on the most recent machines, where the glance of 4K can be seen in the exaltation of the theatrical setting.

If this is really the last Metal Gear Solid, it's an appropriate farewell. The story might be really slow to unfold, but there's a freshness in the gameplay that can appeal to newcomers as well.

Skyward Sword is different form the usual Zelda experience: there's no overworld, resulting in a hampered exploration. But the other aspects of the gameplay are nothing but great: level design shines in every single area of the game; the pace is engaging, the progression linear but always entertaining. Plus, the game has a strong identity, thanks to its characterization, impressive visuals and the extraordinary musical score. It's not the same Legend, but it's another masterpiece.

Exciting, recognizable and modern, Resident Evil 4 is the example of how to make a remake. The team directed by Yasuhiro Anpo has managed to preserve the spirit of the source material, reintroducing memorable sections, spine-chilling settings and an iconic bestiary with few rivals. However, the whole adventure has undergone changes of various nature and extent, sometimes more showy, sometimes more subtle, but not insignificant for this. Leon's investigation in Europe pushes the accelerator on the action dynamics but without betraying the survival horror cornerstones of the series, also thanks to the work previously done by Capcom on the second chapter. Thanks to these attentions, the comparisons with the abominations of the Illuminados have maintained the right amount of tension and the lugubrious atmospheres of some scenarios have been further enhanced. Always in line with the world of B-movies, even the plot now enjoys greater solidity, testifying to a process of updating the experience that has left nothing to chance. A missed opportunity and small imperfections, therefore, have in no way managed to reduce the pleasantness of what has been confirmed as an unmissable appointment for fans of the series and the reference genre.

Uncharted 4 is one of the best action game ever created. The story doesn't have the same emotional impact of The Last of Us, but it bravely focuses on the characters and their relationships. On the other hand, the tension, the diversity, the pace and the aesthetic value of Nate's last adventure is something we've never experienced before.

Sonic CD was a great game in 1993. Today we can't put two hands in front of our eyes and ignore its flaws. Sega does a great job in mantaining the same old running atmosphere, but are we sure that it can still give to a 2011 user what he wants?

The grueling years of work between the game's announcement and its current release are almost too much to justify a final result so astonishing it seems like a dream, but fortunately Silksong actually exists and is a monumental Metroidvania. Immense in content, sublime in art, and challenging in gameplay, Team Cherry's masterpiece objectively has no weaknesses, although its difficulty level makes it unapproachable to anyone unwilling to familiarize themselves with the numerous tools at the protagonist's disposal. The precise movement system, as well as the satisfying combat system, are a remarkable evolution of those already admired in Hollow Knight, and likewise this sequel marks a decisive step forward with a more readable game world that contributes to the creation of an unprecedented visual and narrative universe. The references to its unforgettable predecessor are numerous and present themselves in many aspects, but Silksong is a work that shines with a blinding light of its own, and is above all an unforgettable masterpiece worthy of being counted as one of the best video games in history.
