Exciting, recognizable and modern, Resident Evil 4 is the example of how to make a remake. The team directed by Yasuhiro Anpo has managed to preserve the spirit of the source material, reintroducing memorable sections, spine-chilling settings and an iconic bestiary with few rivals. However, the whole adventure has undergone changes of various nature and extent, sometimes more showy, sometimes more subtle, but not insignificant for this. Leon's investigation in Europe pushes the accelerator on the action dynamics but without betraying the survival horror cornerstones of the series, also thanks to the work previously done by Capcom on the second chapter. Thanks to these attentions, the comparisons with the abominations of the Illuminados have maintained the right amount of tension and the lugubrious atmospheres of some scenarios have been further enhanced. Always in line with the world of B-movies, even the plot now enjoys greater solidity, testifying to a process of updating the experience that has left nothing to chance. A missed opportunity and small imperfections, therefore, have in no way managed to reduce the pleasantness of what has been confirmed as an unmissable appointment for fans of the series and the reference genre.

As the Anglo-Saxons would say, Windjammers 2 is one of those proverbial cases of "history in the making": an instant classic that collects the heavy and prestigious legacy of its predecessor, even managing to relaunch on the gameplay side - or a topic on which the masterpiece hardware-based NEOGEO has had for decades to teach, from the authentic interactive game design manual it is. Of course, some of that immediacy that made the original a Pong to the nth degree was lost along the way, yet in the end (despite an inadequate tutorial) the game could be worth the candle. Also because the first Windjammers will not disappear anyway, and can always be a valid alternative for purists. Having said that it will be very difficult to give up the exasperated dynamism of this sequel and its genuine playful and audiovisual spectacle.

The core gameplay is the same of Partners in time, but a bright plot, new features (as touch-screen based minigames) and the correlation between the three main characters add variety to the Rhythm/RPG mechanics.

The masters of 2D have in fact given us a convoluted and enthralling narrative interweaving, which between time travel, advanced technologies, dreams of a distant and catastrophic future, unspeakable secrets and mammoth robots, starve the player and unleash an irrepressible curiosity in him. able to keep him glued to the screen for at least thirty hours, especially if he devotes himself body and soul to entertaining strategic battles and the customization of the powerful Sentinels.

Modern Warfare 3 is a solid FPS. If you didn't like the previous chapters, you won't change your mind, since the game doesn't change its formula. Scripted, spectacular and short, the single player campaign is just an appetizer, leading you to taste the savory multiplayer and the amazing Spec-Ops missions.

PES 2017 is on the right path. The team assembled a less frenetic gameplay, and peppered the game with interesting features, improving a solid structure that continues to consolidate over time. Too bad for the usual licenses issue, even if the premium partner is a good solution that will bear its fruit in the coming years.

Victoria 3 finally arrives after years of incessant requests from the Paradox community and grand strategies, and it does it in style. The team responsible for the new chapter has managed to implement what fans were hoping for: expand, innovate and simplify a system of social and economic simulation without sacrificing the complexity that had so amazed already in the second title of the series. Victoria 3 is not a game for everyone but all those who want to play it hard will see this "investment" highly rewarded.
