An intense and raw experience, Immortality marks an excellent return to the scene for Sam Barlow, in an adventure to be lived strictly with headphones and controllers. Preferably during a rainy night, in a dimly lit room.

You may think that two new stages and an extra boss fight could not be enough fresh content for a Next-Gen version of this great metroidvania. The Turbo Super Championship Edition is instead great, because it polishes the gameplay and the game runs definitely smoother.

Arkane Studios gives us a hybrid single player experience between a first person shooter and a stealth game. Telling a dystopian world, with fun gameplay and astonishing design, Dishonored is one of the best experience in this late 2012.

Zenonia 4 is really great and is really... free! Do you really need more? The only reason that could stop you from buying it would be a tremendous hate against RPG games.

A simple yet brilliant indie, immediate and at the same time profound, which phenomenally mixes genius and unruliness.

Above all, there is a technical, rapid, stratified combat system. A grueling challenge of nerves, tenacity and reflexes, which knows when to open up to less obsessive rhythms, enhancing stealth and exploration. A masterpiece of style and wickedness, lightning and lethal, forged in the blood of mistakes and in the resolution that is hidden in each of us.

If this is really the last Metal Gear Solid, it's an appropriate farewell. The story might be really slow to unfold, but there's a freshness in the gameplay that can appeal to newcomers as well.

Dead or Alive Dimension is a surprising Beat'em Up. It's a strange kind of "Best of", combining old and new elements, strages, charachters. Despite some issues with the IA, its core mechanics work well, and the whole experience is compelling and deep.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a very valid title, which once again demonstrates the enormous commitment made by the Square Enix team in the reconstruction and expansion of the seventh final fantasy. Although this second part of the journey of Cloud and his companions was not as "unknown" as promised, we appreciated all the narrative elements devised by the screenwriters of the Japanese giant, with the sole exception of the final chapter, which unfortunately proved to be lacking in several ways. wait. That said, the action RPG remains one of the most engaging and satisfying works of the House of Chocobo, which for the occasion has strengthened the role-playing component with the introduction of crafting, synergistic actions and an affinity system that will certainly be perfected with the arrival of the third and final part of the Remake Trilogy. However, the exploration is the most convincing aspect of the package, since outside of Midgar the albeit dying world of Final Fantasy VII has opened up to show us a good part of its wonders. On the downside, the technical sector is unfortunately mainly linked to the quality standards of the last generation. We will therefore have to wait for the next episode to truly enter the next-gen and witness the definitive rebirth of Final Fantasy VII.

Bayonetta 3 is Pure Platinum again. Technical uncertainties partially weaken the visual appeal, but do not sufficiently reduce the overall audiovisual footprint and do not prevent the adventure from achieving excellence. The third chapter of the saga is a continuous discovery, a fireworks show dedicated especially to fans of the Witch of Umbra. In support of a flair and a variety of very high thickness stands a highly calculated gameplay, a combination of controlled chaos and trotting spectacularity. There is a lot, in Bayonetta 3, all that is needed to allow Platinum's work to represent the apotheosis of action games.

The talented Japanese team has created its greatest work and, beyond what will be the reception of the general public, has given shape to a stylistic and gameplay masterpiece, capable of synthesizing the needs of players with almost opposite characteristics. Guilty Gear Strive is the new beat 'em up paradigm, by art sector, online infrastructure and balance between the various elements of the gameplay. The few defects found are mostly a consequence of too short development times, and will probably be fixed over time. A title suitable for beginners, but challenging for experts, with a solid online infrastructure and a non-playable, yet smooth and well-written story mode. We are undoubtedly facing a milestone in the fighting game, a product to be appreciated and loved in all its facets. Put aside any reluctance and let yourself be taken by the hand by the rich tutorial modes, you will not be disappointed.

Vampire Survivors is a surprising and well-packaged title, supported by a formula capable of kidnapping the user to drag him into a continuous succession of high-intensity pyrotechnic battles. By putting a simple but effective gameplay loop at the center of the proposal, Poncle has built an experience full of reward mechanics, expertly administered to push the user into a tunnel made of addiction and fun. Son of a talent for game design that we hope will continue to amaze us in the years to come, Vampire Survivors is therefore a title that is absolutely worth trying, especially considering the negligible cost of Luca Galante's work.
