Ultimax is a great fighting game, with different characters and balanced gameplay. Atlus has managed to create a game that is a challenge for seasoned players and a nice way to start for novice ones.

Not as surprising as Brawl, but this new Super Smash Bros. is a more polished version of one of the most fun games Nintendo has ever made.

The best thing about Unity is its incredibly detailed portrayal of a city of Paris that looks more alive than any other scenario in Ubisoft's long running franchise.

The best western RPG in recent years, and a game that shows that BioWare is still capable of doing many many great things.

The best way to describe Far Cry 4 is that it's Far Cry 3 set in the Himalayas. There are not many new things, but Ubisoft has done well not greatly changing a formula that still works great.

It's more of the same? Yes. But it's also better, much better. GTA5 is as great as it was last year, and this version has lots of small changes - or big ones, like the first person camera - that make the experience even more enjoyable.

A good Call of Duty, better than Ghosts. It's a nice step forward for the franchise, that will give hope to fans who were skeptical about its future.

Beyond Earth takes the solid foundation of Civilization to offer a more immersive experience, perhaps the best since Alpha Centauri, if not better.

The Evil Within is a game to respect and cherish, one made by a creator, Shinji Mikami, who is not afraid to learn new things, but is more interested in refining what he knows how to do best.

Playground did a great job with the fist Forza Horizon, and its sequel is exactly what you can expect: bigger, better and faster, possibly the best Xbox One exclusive game you'll play in 2014.
