Bad Company 2 does not redefine the FPS genre but confirms the series as one of the most solid shooter experiences out there. The single player experience is not always convincing while multiplayer is dangerously addictive.

Torchlight II is not a game about innovation - it's an extremely well-crafted traditional hack'n'slash. With its very nice visuals and a virtually infinite replay value, the latest Runic's creation is the best alternative to Diablo III.

XCOM 2 is a hell of a sequel. It's better than Enemy Unknown in many ways and slightly different too, but in its core is still the same great experience.

Dishonored 2 is the example of a perfect sequel, a game which improves several flaws of the first title bringing to life a memorable experience. Arkane Studios managed to create a masterpiece, especially for whoever loves the stealth genre.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is the best console edition of the popular Microsoft-owned digital title. PC is still ahead thanks to the support of an ever-growing community and its amazing mods but, considering the previous console experiences with smaller worlds and less performing graphics, Xbox One is the greatest choice you could make to kick-off your adventure in Minecraft.

More robotic creatures, a wider map, underwater missions and better graphics: Forbidden West is bigger and badder than Zero Dawn. Still, after five years the combat system is less appealing and the quality of life is no longer up to the standards. Guerrilla Games could have dared more, but the result is, anyway, worth your attention.

The Halo 3 porting is without any doubt the best of the Master Chief Collection to date, and the job done by 343 Industries is commendable. Although we could have hoped for a remake as happened with Halo 2, the developers have shown that despite the years, the third chapter of the first trilogy is still enjoyable. And with the improvements made, it's more beautiful than ever.

Pokémon X and Y are the best Pokémon versions ever made. The new 3D graphics are astounding and the nostalgia effect when playing many of the most famous first/second generation Pokémon is overwhelming. The ultimate evolution of the series, a new standard for every Pokémon game to come.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a great game, despite not being as perfect as we could believe. The single player campaign presents some narrative solutions that make it boring sometimes , but on the other hand everything on the multiplayer side is pure gold! The new modes can provide a lot of fun and if you liked the previous CoD for the online, Black Ops will be your next divinity to adore.

Deathloop is a promising evolutive step for one of the greatest developers in the industry. Like every attempt to change it has some structural flaws but this inventive FPS/stealth deserves everybody's attention. A fascinating muder puzzle bond to a time loop.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a harsh and evil metroidvania concealed behind a pretty face. You’ll need to time your jump precisely, you’ll need to save at the right time, you’ll need quick reflexes, and you will swear. A lot.

Metroid Dread is the final chapter of the journey started by Samus Aran on NES long ago. Developer MecurySteam has managed to create a game loyal to the series but full of new elements added to renew the gameplay. Being chased by E.M.M.I. is one of the most terrifying experiences you could ever feel in a videogame. It’s just a brilliant addiction. Exploring ZDR planet is a marvelous adventure: as you progress through the game, you will collect new powers and story elements. Metroid Dread feels like old and new at the same time: will please both fans of the series and new players. This game plays gorgeously on the new Switch OLED screen and is a must-have for every metroidvania addict.

Super Mario Maker 2 is just brilliant. It takes the best elements of previous games of the series and merges them, adding a huge series of new elements and games modes. The course editor is deeper than ever and there are a new single player story mode, new competitive and cooperative modes both local and online. This is just dope and you cannot stop playing this game.

High reactivity in every interaction, incredible fluidity in movements, a functional communication system and an excellent mix between a classic Battle Royale and a hero based system create a unique formula, able to bring a breath of fresh air to a genre that seemed to be already saturated.

Starcraft: Legacy of the Void lets the curtain fall on a story that has kept millions of players on their toes for years. The single player campaign is well designed, full of videos worthy of the best CG movies and also features an excellent orchestral soundtrack. As for multiplayer, innovation and brave choices mark the path, but only time will tell weather or not they will have a positive impact on the community.

After so many years, Diablo is back for good. Despite the initial connection issues and the visuals that do not set a new standard, this is still the best hack 'n' slash in town. Will it last 12 years as Diablo II? We don't know, but for sure we are going to play it for months.
