Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is a brand new videogame dedicated to the iconic anime series. With two career modes, the first following the classic events and the second offering an intriguing brand new story, with graphics very similar to the anime and some great moments, this is the most advanced Captain Tsubasa game ever created. Though, there is the feeling of a missed opportunity both gameplay side and story. Frame-rates are not so solid and we would have loved the addiction of the primary school tournament.

Despite some technical limitations, low longevity and lack of replayability, Metamorphosis is a game full of passion and respect for the novels that inspired it. A budget-priced game that every gamer who loves Kafka's works should offer a chance.

Crusader Kings 3 is the perfect sequel to the masterpiece that CK2 was. Better interface, deeper mechanics, astounding production values make this title the best grand strategy game in the market.

Despite an old-gen aesthetic and some minor issues, Descenders is a good downhill arcade racer with pretty good SSX and Tony Hawk's vibes.

Röki is like a sort of an evolution of the point and click genre, an adventure game far less overelaborate but still interesting and intriguing, only in a different, more accessible way which heavily lean on exploration. A journey of discovery and at the same time an intimate story and a folklore's tale.

Wasteland 3 is a good RPG that executes the same old formula sprucing it up with entertaining and interesting combat, good progression, inventory choices and a story that, while only average, is well delivered.

No Straight Roads is a visually charming rhythm-action game that slips on its (sometimes) confusing gameplay ideas and lands on the slightly-above-average level.

Company of Crime is a good tactical game with a fascinating setting and some new mechanics marred by the usual rush to release. AI and balancing issues ruin the experience making this game one to revisit after some patches.

Sometimes bigger is not better. With over 180 different mechs, this game should be a dream for Mobile Suit's lovers, but its dull single player and widely perfectible multiplayer, keep it just above the average.

Hyper Scape manages to perfectly combine the past and the future of online shooters. The Battle Royale genre has a new, fierce and extremely fun competitor.

Battletoads is a love poem to the games of a dramatically distant past and an almost completely successful attempt to refresh a brand, to make the nostalgic happy and intrigue the youngest: a game, in short, full of heart and desire to entertain ... and torment the more casual gamers.

Spiritfarer is a good management game, simple in its playful structure, yet discreetly varied and visually inspired. The characters that we’ll have to accompany in the afterlife are nice, and the writing is accurate and stylistically heterogeneous. Too bad for a rhythm not always effective during the long adventure.

Cold Symmetry has managed to bring home a project with a beautiful atmosphere, strongly inspired by From Software's soulsborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but with original mechanics and folklore; pity for the scholastic execution, certainly due to scarce resources and workforce, which limit its longevity and bring out a framework with too much roughness.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is not just the ultimate simulator, it’s a technical showcase that will inevitably end up catching everyone's attention. If you have a good PC, you won't be able to ignore it for long.

Maid of Sker is an atmospheric horror game with interesting ideas and story, but falls apart relatively quickly due to some poor design choices.

Necrobarista is a 3D visual novel. It is stylish, relaxing and mysterious. Direction and scenography are smart and evocative. The writing is overall good, but it lacks focus, with head hopping and a lot of filler sequences.

In the vast panorama of soulslike games, Hellpoint sits on the lower end of the difficulty scale, bringing a couple of interesting innovations to the genre. Setting and art direction surely original and interesting with a good dose of level design. Combat is a bit unresponsive and laggy.

Horizon Zero Dawn, with the Complete Edition on Steam, arrives on PC with a convincing conversion, which allows you to retrieve one of the most fascinating open world games of the current generation with a significant performance boost and greater detail. Too bad for the lack of support for Ray Tracing and DLSS.

Summing up, Relicta is certainly an interesting puzzle game, capable of offering excellent puzzles based on two elements of physics: gravity and magnetism. Some levels denote a truly remarkable complexity and degree of difficulty, requiring the player, in addition to the knowledge of the basic mechanics, also a not insignificant intelligence.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a pleasant return to the classic fantasy typical of the saga, but it is limping on the technical side and on the variety of experience, creating a questionable compromise between quantity and quality.

Mario’s new adventure is a perfect way to continue the saga. The adventure RPG combines exploration and puzzle game in a new different way. The new Paper Mario is extremely pleasant and suitable for every kind of gamer.

Othercide is a tactical game with a lot of new and interesting ideas. The grinding involved is unfortunately too much and not always fair; together with the badly designed UI makes for a very stressing and fatiguing experience.

Kryptois back in this remake of the original 2005 game that still delivers a quite entertaining '50s old-gen TPS experience with an all new level and the predictable aesthetic lifting.

This fifth installment in the Shantae series is still an enjoyable game but too short and with a flat-level challenge.

The Halo 3 porting is without any doubt the best of the Master Chief Collection to date, and the job done by 343 Industries is commendable. Although we could have hoped for a remake as happened with Halo 2, the developers have shown that despite the years, the third chapter of the first trilogy is still enjoyable. And with the improvements made, it's more beautiful than ever.

Namco plays with our feelings again with another (expensive) double serving of its Good Gold Days games. Feel old yet? You will!

Creaks is extremely unique and different from the usual games crafted by the talented Amanita Design team. Still it is again the quintessence of an incredible work of visual and audio art intertwined in order to create a striking and funny puzzle game. An indie must buy like the previous Samorost, Machinarium and Botanicula.

Railway Empire is a fine and intriguing strategic game about the onset of the railway business in America. The Switch version is not the ideal way to play it as the interface is marred by some very bad decisions.

Besides some shortcomings on the technical side, this port for Nintendo Switch is an excellent opportunity to recover a long-lived and engaging title, certainly not suitable for all palates, but a perfect transition between what has been and what the saga will be.

Ghost of Tsushima is a it is an aesthetic masterpiece, confined in the canons of the typical open world. However the combat system works, and the setting recreated by Sucker Punch has a magnetic appeal. Recommended.

Death Stranding in its PC version represents the best experience in the imaginary world of Kojima Productions. In many aspects the differences with the PS4 version are minimal, this is due to the excellent work done in the beginning by the development team, but improvements such as an unblocked frame rate and a smoother interaction with the game menus, combined with few extra missions, make this the new reference version.

Superhot Mind Control Delete is a sublime action game like its predecessor. A continuous flow of fun that will make you dance through its levels for a long, long time.

Beyond a Steel Sky is an excellent adventure game with a well-made narrative and a very inspired art direction.

Biped is a platform puzzle game with a considerable amount of levels and challenges. Unfortunately, his controls are too unwieldy and they make the adventure frustrating.

VirtuaVerse is a great love letter to old school point and click adventure and to the cyberpunk imagery. Maybe not an absolute masterpiece but definitely a gem for a lot of passionate gamers.

Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption is the most interesting DLC of those proposed to date. Although it requires the usual 7-8 hours for 100% completition, thanks to an all new cast it manages to offer a little more. Assetto Corsa Competizione looks a solid port on the midgen consoles you should consider if you own a solid steering wheel. If you are about to put to rest your old PS4/Xbox One waiting for the nextgen, this one should be killer on next Xbox and PlayStation.

It’s useless to beat around the bush: The Last of Us Part II sets a new all-around quality standard for triple A videogames: balanced in all its elements, it's a game capable of amusing, disturbing and making people think. This is not a game suitable for everyone, for its genre and the topics covered, but it has the potential to easily reach and overcome the prequel in its role as a milestone in the evolution of this incredible, exceptional medium.

V1 Interactive's debut work is a successful hybrid between FPS and RTS with an intriguing plot and a good artistic direction.

Skelattack is a good title. It is not particularly long but the story still manages to be engaging, keeping the interest high from the beginning to the end. Too bad for some design choices, if the developers had dared more, the vote would have been higher. Net of this, however, the production of Ukuza is certainly pleasant and fans of the genre will only appreciate the addition of the title in their library.

Amazon's hero shooter Crucible is quite a disaster across the board. Unbalanced gameplay, uninspired artwork and general monotony outline a severely insufficient production.

MortalKombat 11: Aftermath is by far the best expansion in the whole fighting game genre. Detail level, storytelling and overall quality are all over the top, but the raw size of the experience it's still somewhat underwhelming.

If Found... is a wonderful coming of age story and an artistically gem both visually and soundwise. It's a peculiar tale of a group of characters incredibly real and relatable. Atomicrops is a frantic mix of roguelite and tower defense gameplays. It has a wonderful pixel-art and a nice, fitting soundtrack. It is a solid game, but the farming-sim gameplay fragments the exploration and jam its potential.

Utawarerumono:Prelude to the Fallen is an excellent remake of the visual novel that started a much loved saga in Japanese territory. This remake is an excellent opportunity for many curious people to learn about the game, never officially localized in any western language until now.

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition brings to Nintendo Switch one of the best modern role-playing games ever created: the visual element, the main weakness of the title, has been updated with care and respect for the original work, as well as the musical rearrangements. The game mechanics are still incredibly good today, confirming how mature Monolith Soft's work was at the time of publication.

Neversong brings you in the deepest nightmares of childhood, through an adventure platform game with puzzles and riddles. It’s the perfect match between dreams and reality, an adventure from which you will not take your eyes off.

Saints Row The Third finally comes to current-gen platforms with the best version ever of the game. Not only resolution is higher, but there is support for unlocked frame-rate and HDR, and nearly every aspect of the graphics has been upgraded or reworked from scratch. If you missed this game before, this is your best chance to play it.

A simple and Mine-crafted take on the dungeon crawler genre. Very simple. Maybe too simple, but quite enjoyable particularly in coop.

The Inner Friend is eerie and visually stunning. Vibe, soundtrack and 3D scenarios are its strongest qualities. PLAYMIND should focus to improve narrative and gameplay, to not fall behind games of the same genre.

Cloudpunk is an interesting narrative game taking place in a breathtaking futuristic city in which you zip with your flying car to make delivery, explore and advance the story. Gameplay is a bit lacking but the city graphic design makes it worth your time and money.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection contains four GBA games of the Zero series, and two DS games of the ZX series. All of them are playable with enhanced graphics through a couple of filters and there are nice add-ons too in the form of new modes that increase accessibility or expand longevity. Meanwhile, a huge gallery full of artworks and soundtracks will surely please all the fans of the series.

Sakura Wars (2019) wants to refresh the franchise, while maintaining its core identity and narrative continuity. The rhythm and style of the story is perfect for a fan ofJapanese, anime-style productions and the characters, despite their tropes, let themselves be loved. The choice to simplify the battles so much is questionable, putting them practically in the background from every other point of view, but the Trust system, the stylish character design and the excellent dubbing manage to balance the accounts.

Trials of Mana was a very, very good JRPG... 25 years ago. This remake retains some enjoyable features of the original but fails to jump on the new century wagon.

A short and fresh mini-adventure with no real challenges but a big and strong heart, that deserves to be enjoyed by everyone.

Yes, Your Grace Is a fun romp through the life of a powerful man in medieval times.The narrative is well written and the choices interesting but the trip is over soon and not that worthy of a second try.

ITTA does welli ts job as a competent bullet hell adventure filled with a good number of bosses and a ton of bullets to dodge. The mysterious plot proves itself interesting enough but the boss fights need more variety and complexity in order to let this fascinating universe shine forreal.

Smaller but first of all different, XCOM: Chimera Squad is clearly an interlude in anticipation of the big, epic XCOM 3. Especially at this price point. It is definitely an interlude that new and old fans should not miss.

Iron Danger is a splendidly innovative effort in the RPG scene. The time manipulation mechanic works neatly, until it doesn’t because of the too many enemies on the screen. Production values are also, in general, pretty high.

Lair Of the Clockwork God is funny, clever and full of great humor provided by two amazing protagonists. Platform and point and click adventure mixed up together are a surprisingly tasteful cocktail full of wonderful ideas.

In Other Waters is an interesting take on a bizarre theme, that of marine exobiology.In the end it is a pretty simple, undramatic, narrative romp with a nifty looking interface that will keep you immersed in an alternative reality for a few hours.

Corruption 2029 is good tactical exercise with no soul, a lot of repetitions and, in the end, nothing to really write home about. Mutant Year Zero players who loved it, could take a look if they really want more of the same.

Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories shows its side to undeniable technical criticisms, caused by a bad optimization and a game structure that would have been dusty fifteen years ago. However, it remains a cult game, made with heart and with a great concept behind it.

An atmospheric roguelike action-adventure that misses the magic of previous Capybara games because of its steep difficulty curve and repetitive design.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a love letter from Square Enix to its old and new fans. An excellent title in all its elements, an almost perfect work, full of details that confirm its chiseled realization. The future, however, remains uncertain: the later parts of the project, today more than ever, will mark the true fate of the revival of the seventh Final Fantasy.
