Sonic Unleashed proves that Sonic Team are back on track with Sonic in some respects, but there's still a way to go before they get it right - trimming the unnecessary night-style stages away, or evening the mix of gameplay, would be a great start.

Metal Slug 7 is an extremely solid entry in the Metal Slug series.

Strong Bad Episode 4 succeeds in appealing to a variety of audiences, and ultimately offering a worthwhile way to spend a thousand Wii Points.

Animal Crossing: Wild World is a good entry to the series for newer players; there's the same charm and simple fun that has drawn in many fans - but with the available technology and development time there was so much potential for doing more.

Those expecting an experience like other 3D Tales games, such as Symphonia, are going to be disappointed. Dawn of a New World simply takes what Tales of Symphonia had and waters it down for the most part, meaning it shouldn't be recommended over the GameCube title for those new to the series.

It does everything it's supposed to, offers a multitude of modes for each separate game and has an interesting take on a party mode - everybody's bound to find some variety they like in there somewhere.

Populous should not have been re-released - remade and updated most definitely, but not merely re-released.

This one's a particular shame, though, as it's actually got some good gameplay behind it - it's just too short to be recommended, and doesn't deserve any higher than the most average of marks because it's held back by the length issues.

And to be honest, the DS controls should work, but due to their hideous inaccuracy and twitchy nature, they don't. That's a real shame, as what you'll find beneath the frustration is a gem of a title that will really get your noodle working.

The tornado concept had potential but poor game design choices such as constant circling, no instant retry and a time limit so harsh you will fail more than you succeed have made it a frustrating game that completely forgets the core concept of games - fun and enjoyment.

Baddest of the Bands is another fine addition to the WiiWare catalogue from Telltale Games, and is a must-buy if you're a fan of the other Strongbad episodes.

What's good about this game is it is genuinely good fun. Whilst it might be aimed at girly-girls who have pink a DSlite, we still enjoyed it in a strange sort of way. It might look a bit average and have music with absolutely no variation, but the tapping and stylus fun is more than enough to keep the target audience entertained for a few hours. Just don't expect anything ground-breaking or particularly toe-tapping.

Overall, it's a well-rounded package that demonstrates something new, tries to bring a realistic yet fun appeal to playing music, with playing around the basic tune being the main pulling factor.

There may be times when the humour falls flat, but on the whole this proves to be a pleasure right until the end.

Although still not quite placing enough emphasis on the gameplay aspect, My Japanese Coach proves how far edutainment titles have come in regards to both learning and actual entertainment.

Cubello is an excellent start to the ArtStyle series, and future entries have a high standard to match up to.

The beauty in Legend Of Kage 2 is that it can be conquered and the game lets you know this and teases you with it - you've just got to be good enough to do it.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility has all the staples of a successful Harvest Moon title as well as a few new welcome additions, but it's not without its flaws.

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is a solid role-playing experience, but it's ultimately an overly lightweight one that is unlikely to truly grab the attention of genre veterans.

Day of Crisis is truly a fantastic pastiche of all the disaster movies currently out there, mixing cliché after cliché together, yet managing to just about tie all of its differing gameplay elements together to make one hell of a satisfying package that Wii owners should really not be without.

The amount of content included in Disgaea DS is staggering. Not only are the game's core mechanics solid, innovative, and insanely addictive, but there's enough post-game content to consume hundreds of hours of your life if you so desire.

It certainly has some potential, but Rhapsody constantly disappoints.

Wario Land: The Shake Dimension proves that 2D platform games can definitely hold their own in today’s world, even on powerful home consoles, since this outing is truly a sight to behold.

Kirby fans and lovers of the platform genre in general should certainly not miss out.

Line Rider Freestyle takes the template of the popular online game and runs with it, improving on the original in every single way.

Third time is definitely the charm…

The gameplay as a whole generally works despite some niggles; it just needed to be tweaked and have everything else done again on the presentation side. It can’t be denied, however, that there are superior golf games on Wii, mainly with EA’s ever-improving Tiger Woods series. Or you could go out and play the real thing.

Telltale has once again delivered a must-have WiiWare download that is by far a cut above the rest.
