DJ Max: Fever is not a better mousetrap, it's just a good mousetrap, and it's managed to hook a rat like me. I hate to end this review with a pun, but due to the rhythm genre and the insane difficulty level, this game is hard to beat.

I don't care how good the gameplay is - it's been done to death. It's like releasing the game of checkers over and over with different colored game pieces.

This is a huge, well-made title that stays true to the roots of the series without throwing in the towel and becoming a straight-up nostalgia trip. It can be punishing at times, and its elaborate plot is a spectacular misfire thanks to the horrendous voice acting, but it's a must-play for Might & Magic fans.

Infinite Warfare is just about average with a few sparks here and there. The game feels a lot like the few of the other CoD titles I have tucked away on my shelf but with a few shiny upgrades. Same great mechanics, same beautiful visuals, familiar platform, and the baddest Call of Duty game since the original in Modern Warfare Remastered makes this an average title that won’t disappoint the die-hard Call of Duty fan.

It’s an original and moody action-RPG with fast-paced, energetic combat and layers upon layers of depth to explore.

By allowing gamers to adjust nearly everything on their car, from the width of the spoiler to the height of the blower on that ’69 Charger, Carbon allows gamers to truly make their ride their own.

It's quite possible that Champions: Return to Arms is the best hack and slash game ever created. Unfortunately it has been built atop the foundation of "Champions of Norrath." So much so that fans of that game may feel somewhat betrayed that Return to Arms is so similar.

An excellent game for the casual gaming crowd. It is a great alternative to movie board games due to its simplicity and interactivity.

No two games will ever be exactly the same, and the experience is basically the same online as off. If you enjoy what's happening here, there's no reason to ever stop playing.

Costume Quest works better when the emphasis is on action. The "collect all candy to unlock next world" variation may get a little tired by the end of the game, but it's a lot of fun to collect new costumes (and discover their abilities).

The new voice command system works flawlessly, and players should find it to be a mighty rewarding experience.

The lack of overall polish is inexcusable.

Despite some game mechanic hiccups, Metro 2033 is a game worth trying. The inclusion of an alternate ending only adds to the appeal.

Even if you're not a big fan of puzzle games you'll enjoy the structure of the puzzles that are anything but obtuse or arbitrary.

A truly disturbing game. It's not just the look of the creatures that is designed to scare you, it's the anticipation, the unsettling ambience, the shocks and the understanding you have of the horrors that have taken place which make up the backdrop of the story.

The enemies were incredibly intelligent. Antlions would not only attack you in a mad rush straight on but they would also construct sand traps and wait for you to walk over them whereupon they would attack you from below.

By the end of the day Guilty Gear is a fun game that brings back some great memories of 2D fighting and considering that your options are slim to none on 2D fighters, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core may be your best, if not only, pick.

GP Legends will go a long way in providing hours of racing entertainment for the F-Zero buff. It's easy to get into and allows a lot of racing growth as your experience increases.

Plenty of race types, a decent campaign, and online multiplayer will keep you coming back-if the community survives.

In short, I didn’t expect to enjoy NCAA Football 14 nearly as much as I did. Sure, it has flaws, but it is easily one of the most enjoyable sports games on the market. You may not see too much of a change from last year’s title if you’re a faithful, yearly customer, but if you have been away from the football scene for a while and are thinking of jumping back into it, this may be the perfect time to do it.

A well made homage to the Transformers IP that fails to innovate but succeeds, nonetheless. True Transformers fans should really consider this title, as it tells the origin story of their favorite sentient mechas.

While there are some flaws in the narrative setup of the story and the manner by which players are able to get from beginning to middle to end, all in all it is what I always expected it to be: a fun, funny experience with colorful characters, colorful environments, and colorful loot throughout it all.

NHL 18 is fully loaded.

Darksiders Genesis isn’t a bad game. It has a lot of potential to it and there are some things it does well. I especially liked the twists to its story. The problem is that it is pretty clear it didn’t get the same level of attention as its predecessors. Elements of its design makes it feel like corners were cut in an effort to get things done as efficiently as possible. This can mean some platforming segments are difficult to get past and a little perhaps the puzzles could have actually been challenging.

The additional content in the 360 version would be akin to an expansion pack in a PC game. Aside from the added story missions and Favors mentioned before, this version sports five more hit contracts, four new vehicles, six new melee weapons, and 25 new execution styles for players to discover and perform.

Grandia III takes the basic RPG ingredients and cooks up a great, solid RPG that is guaranteed to satisfy millions of hungry RPG fans worldwide.

Faranga is a finely crafted setting for what ultimately turns into a tremendously deep and very satisfying fantasy RPG. It has a few shortcomings; they're largely forgivable, once you get lost in the adventure.

Every remark, battle cry and slash looks, sounds, and feels authentic to these characters, especially Wolverine and Sabertooth. This game will definitely put you in the spandex of your favorite spandex slasher, which by the way is not the manliest of looks.

Keep in mind that Donkey Kong Country 3 is a new game for the GBA but it's not really a "new" game. If you're planning on purchasing it for someone as a gift do them a favor and ask them if they've already played this game on the Super Nintendo.

The game is entertaining enough to replay, and there are enough extras to provide even more incentive to return to The Gunstringer.

A great game, just as scary as its predecessor. It is lengthy enough to count as a full game, and with the extra content and new levels, this game delivers on all gaming fronts.

The good news is that Mortal Kombat: Deception is still a great without the online modes. It's intense, frenetic, strategic, violent and bloody.

With a deep single-player mode, 10 decks to unlock, and new online modes, you'll get plenty of value from this $10 package.

When you're playing and engaged, Hitman is a thoughtful, well-paced, and beautiful introduction to what should be an incredible multi-part adventure. It's hard to imagine how Square Enix and IO could possibly screw up something this good.

Steep and deep. That means it's got a steep learning curve but the depth it reveals will be worth the effort.

A good example that not all of the best game ideas have been taken. Too often developers don't want to take a chance with a new concept and instead just rehash a proven, popular trend.

UNO RUSH is a great LIVE Arcade title. While some may be initially discouraged by the title's frenetic pace and seemingly unforgiving controls, once you get the hang of things, you'll never want to let go!

If you’ve already played the first two games, there’s not much point in playing this one.

It borders on bad taste makes fun and is meant to entertain while having a solid sports game in the mix. The game accomplishes this in every way. [Online Score = 100]

Highly recommended for all RPG strategists. I could only give it an overall grade of 4.0 because it borrows too heavily from past games even though it manages to push the genre into new territory.

If you're a football fan who loves simulation and fine-tuning his team to strategic perfection, you're going to want to stick with the tried and true Madden formula on 360 or PS3. If you're looking for a fun game to play with some friends who aren't really all that interested in football or are relatively new to football, then Madden Wii is a good buy.

Gun has a great story and it's presented with panache.

The campaign isn't too terribly long, but its innovative perma-death mechanics make that experience enjoyable throughout.

Serves a good game to learn the various aspects of turn-based strategy - but little else.

TERA fixes the very worst aspect of WoW-the lame combat-while making some improvements to other features and doing a good job of emulating the basics. If you're looking for a new MMO, TERA is an excellent choice.

An obsession-inducing item collecting and character customization element mixed with a moderately entertaining fantasy story gives Fantasy Golf some solid legs to stand on.

With new kinds of ways to play that give this entry its own distinct identity, lacking something to do is never a worry here. From the surprisingly varied and fun single player options to the customization suites that have come into their own and endless multiplayer, WWE 2K19 is a wrestling game that feels closer to how fans picture a wrestling game than the series has in several years. It isn’t without its issues, but the efforts to keep this ship sailing are tangible here in ways I wasn’t seeing in the recent past.

The scope of the environments are vast, but empty in this free-roam open ended adventure.

The amount of things to see, do, earn, discover, and create in this game is truly impressive.

This is certainly no Super Mario Galaxy, but it is a more than respectable entry in the platforming universe.

While other games have taken the ball and ran with it, Doom has just been content to play hacky sack.

A good enough game in its own right although it's a poor substitute for the real experience.

Whereas the first game was a side-scrolling brawler, this version is more of an action platformer.

While it may not be for everyone, this game certainly lived up to the hype and the wait. It has a great story, fantastic voice talents and enough modes to keep fans of this type of game busy for a long time.

You'll lose track of time and learn about the rising cost of goods and services all at the same time. Economics made easy!

It delivers on its tagline of being a true John Woo experience and then some. While the game may have suffered several delays, I can honestly say that all of the push-backs have been well worth the wait, and it easily strangles all competitors.

There are countless tense moments playing as Jack and my only complaint is not playing as the featured star more than we were given the opportunity.

Battles in Special Forces are more discreet and intense than they were in the original sequel. These wars are fought not by large armies but by squads of specially trained infantry using the latest in weapons and military technology.

Although the "cinematics" remain fairly archaic, the noticeable bump to its graphics and the excellent addition of voice work makes New Blood a more compelling experience overall.

If you're looking for an entirely new gameplay experience from the folks at LucasArts, then you won't find it in LEGO Indiana Jones. However, this is the most polished and enjoyable entry in the LEGO series of games.

Puzzle fanatics will find it hard to relinquish control of the Wii Remote once they get sucked into the crazy physics and impressively designed mazes.

There's quite a bit of platforming. All together, the levels could take over fifteen hours, which is about normal for a game of its type. More importantly, the experience is top notch all the way.

Gameplay and authenticity are what set this game apart, both of which were also included in the PS2 version. Disappointingly, the graphics are very good but not excellent; as a result, I can't recommend the PS3 version over that of the PS2.

It's better than its predecessor in pretty much all areas except flexibility. But this is okay. The lack of flexibility actually gives the game more of an identity.

I know it sounds like work, but this is way more fun than flossing. It's like playing a bunch of puzzle-based mini-games.

It may be simple in presentation, but the execution is near flawless, and all the extra content shows a great level of dedication on the part of the developers. Skylanders is certainly a full and unique gaming experience.

There's not too much post-game content, but the story mode is plenty of fun and multiplayer modes are a nice diversion.

New Super Luigi U is the kind of game the Wii U needs. It’s familiar enough to bring in long-time Nintendo fans; it’s new enough to bring in the newcomers; and it’s challenging and rewarding enough to keep people playing.

An excellent title. It features memorable gameplay, stunning graphics, and a great multiplayer mode. It is also a very long title, and will keep you playing for quite a while.

The experience is quite nostalgic, and the game features plenty of side quests and special missions to extend the experience.

Built on the core of a very solid pool game, Pool Paradise is a surreal and bizarre game that seems like it's capable of doing anything but taking the game of pool seriously.

Pinball games are largely disposable and not recommended for anything more than a rental. The same applies here.

Has just enough elements added to keep it interesting. Perhaps the way the game is designed to be played is one of its most important traits. That, being the ability to save anywhere in the game which allows for an installment style of play.

The entire game looks better motionless if you want the truth. While the screenshots look great, you must keep in mind that as the scenery gets closer, it becomes a pixellated mess making it difficult, if not impossible, to distinguish where you're going.

It took motion control to make me enjoy a golf game, and enjoy it I did.

The fact that everything I do just seems to be unwritten at the end of every episode, and not in any way that ever makes me triumph, takes me straight out of the action. I can’t get invested in this game, because I feel like I’m not doing anything.

If there was just a bit more content in the game, and if the focus was more on solving puzzles, I have no doubt that this would be a huge hit.

There's certainly a case to be made that Crysis 3 is mediocre in numerous ways. Most players will finish the campaign after five hours or so, the attempt to add vehicles doesn't work well, and the intense focus on graphics can make the gameplay feel like an afterthought. But it's hard to deny that the visuals are beautiful, and that the franchise's sandbox approach to tactics has always worked well. In the end, it's different from other first-person shooters in ways that are more than just skin deep, and it's a ton of fun.

Overall the production values are fantastic. It's just too bad the gameplay wasn't more sophisticated.

It’s because Bungie knows the areas they need to play it safe, and because Bungie knows the areas they want to attempt to explore and make better that I am glad this is the game I have waited for all year long, and why I feel this is another example of why the next-gen console cycle is ready to take off into new, exciting, and interesting ways.

But gameplay is no better this year than it was last year and everything else is quite poorly done.

It's easy to control and is so lifelike in it's recreation of the card game, that I wouldn't be surprised if the hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh! fans chuck their card books and play with their DS' instead.

A few more layers of polish, a little more originality, and an interesting story with some substance would make it a much better game. Regardless, it boils down to a good puzzle experience with gameplay that’s strong enough to carry the weight.

The stiff challenge of the single-player campaign and the quality, if not perfect, multiplayer component will keep skilled, patient gamers playing for hours. Unfortunately, this experience simply isn't tailored for home consoles.

It's not that there isn't a lot to do. It's that there isn't a whole lot of reason to do most of it, and what is worth doing is locked behind hours of dull, introductory gameplay.

With so many tasks to complete in Story Mode and things to do while free roaming in Barnett College, the game has plenty of replay value.

The story mode is fun, funny and yet not absurd enough to wonder what drugs were abused during development time.

Puyo Pop Fever has lots of surprises and packs a lot of features - all of them useful. It's a really good version that makes good use of the dual screen, touch screen and wireless network.

The game is almost fully realized although it suffers from some repetition, but that gives it room for improvement. I will patiently be awaiting "Rayman Raving Rabbids 2."

Though some stages drag on far longer than they should, the game is overall an enjoyable experience.

You'll have a great time with the single-player campaign and the fairly limited, but entertaining, multiplayer component of Singularity is just icing on the cake.

RTS fans might find it a little simple, but might find the emphasis on action a pleasing surprise. Action fans might find the strategy a little dull, but with the simplicity of the commands they'll find themselves in the thick of the action as often as they like.

It has everything you could expect from a college football title and then some, but it just doesn't have a whole lot more than NCAA 12 already had.

A great game. The new additions to the title are innovative and impact the gameplay positively. Online play will prove to be a boon for Wii owners, the Party mode helps make the title stand out on this console, and the high quality graphics make it competitive with the other versions.
