People unfamiliar with games themed around Dragon Ball Z will not find much here to latch onto, but fans of the Dragon Ball Z franchise will not know what to expect from a twist and turned filled time travel story that will rearrange all of their favorite characters until those fans can put them back in order again.

Star Wars: Beyond Victory - A Mixed Reality Playset is a fairly simple game with a good payoff for fans of narrative games or people who just want a sandbox to play in and it comes at a price that makes it a lot more enticing for people to give it a shot.

Starfield: Shattered Space is a compelling but messy addition to Starfield and could be recommended to Starfield fans.

SaGa: Emerald Beyond is a strong entry in Square Enix’s most bizarre franchise. It may not be the best introduction to the series, but it’s filled with wacky characters, fascinating stories, and an incredible combat system.

WarioWare: Move it! feels like a return to form for the series, giving fans plenty to chew on as they make their way through over 200 microgames in a new island setting.

NNG is about as relaxing as an afternoon with Papers, Please. It’s also a hell of a lot of fun.

Life is Strange 2 on the Nintendo Switch holds true to its story-telling ability and deep dialogue choices while offering a good-enough option for those wanting to take the game on the go.

SNK vs Capcom was an exceptional fighting game at the turn of the millennium and still holds up now—mostly as an artifact.

While Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora dazzles with its visual fidelity and expands the lore of its universe, its gameplay shortcomings and frustrating navigation prevent it from fully realizing the thrilling potential of embodying a Na’vi warrior in the mesmerizing world of Pandora.

Even though there is very little that has changed since the Hollow Fragment Vita release, the multiplayer aspect definitely adds to the game experience and makes it feel slightly more like the MMO depicted in the series.

Gryphon Knight Epic is a challenging and enjoyable—if forgettable—little shoot-‘em-up with plenty of nostalgia to offer the 25 to 35-year-old crowd.

Deponia Doomsday is an experience hardcore fans of these series will love. Its humour is as crude as ever, the story is confusing, and its characters are still missing a few vital brain cells. But with a beautiful art style and interesting puzzles, Daedalic has delivered yet another solid adventure game.

Clearly, the players who stand to gain the most value from purchasing this re-release are those who have bought or plan to buy a next-generation console and for one reason or another haven’t played or finished the original DMC5 campaign yet, as it is for them that the game will yield the most surprises and offer the most longevity. That said, if I were to draw a Venn Diagram titled “gamer groups interested in buying DMC5:SE” that encompassed the DMC-curious, franchise die-hards looking for new challenges, and brand new 4K60/120 HDTV owners, I’d be willing to bet that there would be a sizeable amount of overlap. Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is still one of the best looking games of last generation, and if you’re looking for something dazzling to flex the muscle of your next gen console and give your thumbs a serious workout at the same time, you could easily do far worse, especially on Xbox Series X/S where there are fewer standout next-generation games to play.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for the Switch offers its own set of unique features, only available for the Nintendo Switch in order to make up for its lacking power.

Despite some moments where the campaign seemed confusing, Modern Warfare III is a decent enough reboot/sequel, allowing for some fun gameplay in the multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Visions of Mana marks a solid return to the series, featuring an emotionally engaging storyline and striking visuals. However, the side quests and voice acting may turn some players off.

Onimusha: Warlords is a somewhat rough but enjoyable adventure, making it worth revisiting.

Toukiden 2 isn’t a bad game but there are enough flaws to stop it from being what could’ve been a great. I believe fans of the hunting style action RPG will easily get the most out of this, enjoying what they already love about the genre as they’re introduced to Toukiden 2's new ideas. If you’re not already a fan of this type of game however, it’s unlikely that this title will be the one to change your mind.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is simultaneously cliche and transgressive, offering refreshing takes on genre conventions while still reliant on them. Its expanded gameplay systems can be mind-numbing to newcomers, but longtime franchise fans will find an unrivaled buffet of content to grind through.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival has potential, but with it’s overwhelming animations and pricey day-one DLCs, it’s hard to recommend to anyone looking to get into the series.

What Friday the 13th: The Game on Switch lacks in graphical fidelity, it makes up for in consistent fun.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is finally playable on modern consoles in a faithful to the original way, flaws and all.

This collection is without a doubt the best way to play any of these four games legally without spending too much money.
