Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age does not find the black thread of anything nor try to revolutionize the genre at all; On the contrary, it seeks to pay tribute to its legacy that has forged through more than three decades and that has led it to become one of the most important exponents of the genre and one of the most beloved franchises in Japan. If you are a lover of the JRPG then do not hesitate, Dragon Quest XI is an adventure that you must live and experience.

Destiny has changed and in many ways - this is a better, richer and more functional game than the original release. With a better way to tell its story and well-implemented substantial changes, Destiny: The Taken King is a very good expansion with plenty of content.

Heroes of the Storm is a living proof that companies can innovate in a genre with strictly established rules. It is developed with only one premise in mind: being fun.

I think that if you were one of those who recently made the enormous expense to buy a PlayStation 5, you must have Returnal among your priorities, because it is precisely software that gives the hardware a sense of existence. It is useless to have all those capabilities without games that make the most of it. Housemarque's work has rekindled hope for what the developers will present to us in the future. The truth is that anxiety invades me because I already know what else has been prepared for us and more than anything else, it adds some flavor to this new generation that, as I already told you, had a strange beginning in large part due to the complicated situation that It surrounded us and continues to surround us to this day. Returnal is a celebration of the modernity and sophistication of the medium.

The Forza Motorsport series makes a great comeback which works perfectly with a younger and modern look. The gameplay feels better than ever and the dynamic weather option surely feels like a drastic change compared to Forza Motorsport 6, even though there are some technical issues that we experienced and turned it into a non-cohesive game.

Humanity delivers a vast puzzle game with 90 levels on the main story plus the infinite number of creations the community provides via the robust level maker it includes. Requirements to advance in the story might lead some genre newcomers to quit and even though it looks, hears, and feels beautiful, it lacks the extra-sensorial touch you would expect from this developer.

Even though the idea of having such a big game like Xenoblade Chronicles in a handheld sounds attractive, its implementation in the New 3DS doesn't work quite as well.

If you can surpass the boring structure and setting, you will enjoy a conservative Zelda with the best dungeons in the series. Even though the textures are reworked, it lacks the love and care put in specific aspects like lighting in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.

Monster Hunter Generations is a great game. Hardcore fans will enjoy its well known formula and beginners will find in it the most accessible entry in all the series. More from what you would expect from Capcom, but with new and well implemented gameplay mechanics in form of combat style and special abilities.

Dirt Rally is a must for rally fans with precise controls and realistic physics, one of the best contemporary games among other racing games developed by Codemasters. Even it is a difficult game, the core mechanics works well to give us an experience full of adrenaline, challenge and learning on every race.

Metroid: Samus Returns is a fantastic remake from one of the most unnoticed games from the series. It combines a really well-known formula and complements it with some new gameplay mechanics, functional controls, gorgeous visuals, and many more surprises that make it feel as a familiar yet fresh experience. It is a must have game for any fan of the brave Samus Aran.

Having such a secure path to success with titles like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, or really any of its legacy franchises could have pushed Capcom to retreat further into its comfort zone. However, fortunately for all of us, what the company has achieved over the past decade has had the opposite effect. Proof of this can be seen in games like the sensational Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and now Pragmata, which carries the responsibility of revolutionizing an entire genre. Indeed, we are looking at one of the biggest titles of 2026—one that we simply cannot recommend highly enough to keep on your radar.

I don't know what the next step for the series will be. While Dragon Quest XII is inevitable, I would love to see the fourth, fifth, and sixth installments receive the same treatment. Although ports of the Nintendo DS versions are also something I'd like to see, the HD-2D format creates the perfect space to offer us unforgettable adventures that will not only please nostalgic fans but also serve as a gateway for a new generation.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is a very interesting package. This version offers a short but entertaining expansion for the single-player campaign. The Koopaling levels are great fun and play wonderfully with the core mechanics of the main experience to provide challenges that everyone will love. At the same time, we shouldn't forget that many players will likely be venturing into the Flower Kingdom for the first time—which also means they will be encountering one of the Italian plumber's very best games.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a game with a considerably smaller scale than the last two installments in the series and therefore, with much more earthly goals and objectives, however, Grezzo brings to the table a title with a lot of proposal that knew perfectly how to mix the whole new philosophy of the franchise, with its oldest and most beloved traditions by fans. This opens a completely new line of thought that tells us that smaller-sized The Legend of Zelda also have a place in the future. Needless to say, we are facing one of the great video games of this very strong 2024, one that of course, you shouldn't miss for anything.

It was a pleasure to return to this game after years without touching it, and it became clear to me that there are certain products in the industry that will take a long time to feel outdated, this is one of them. It was a gem in 2017 and continues to be in 2024, a must play for those who just bought a PS5.

The million-dollar question is: Is Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater better than Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater? There's no clear answer, and everyone will have a different conclusion. At the end of the day, Konami and Virtuos' remake doesn't replace the original, which is currently available in the Master Collection, and it does a very superficial job of justifying its existence beyond reviving interest in the series and generating money. The title leaves something to be desired, but—and this is the main dilemma—this remains one of the best games in history, but one of the least interesting remakes in recent years.
