Thanks to an impressive respect for the game's original vision while also finding areas for improvement to modernize a masterpiece that's more than 20 years old, we can say that the Silent Hill 2 remake not only meets expectations, but far exceeds them and makes the name Bloober Team take on a new meaning after all the doubts that surrounded it. It's also very important to highlight Konami's work in choosing the right team to play such an important title so loved by the community. Needless to say, we're facing one of the great experiences of 2024 that, regardless of whether or not you played the original at the time, you have to give it a chance. Somehow, the Poles have managed to make both old veterans of the mythical saga and horror genre, as well as those who are completely new, more than satisfied.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is not only one of the most beautiful JRPGs from this decade, but it's a one of a time experience. With this Remastered version, LEVEL 5 confirms the game as a unique experience for gamers, despite featuring only a few presentation improvements.

Its now or never, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Nintendo Switch is probably one the best 2D platform experiences available for the console. While as a port it doesn't receive many extras, the overall experience is fun, challenging and now portable. If you didn't play it on the Wii U, we tell you its a must-have.

Mario Kart World kicks off the Switch 2 in a practically flawless way, presenting an experience that not only showcases several of the new hardware's capabilities but also revolutionizes the very traditional way of doing things within the series it represents. While the open world wasn't exactly what we expected, the core of the racing experience is one of the most polished and well-executed projects in the company's history. The achievements in control, mechanics, level design, and audiovisual presentation set a new standard that we believe none of its competitors will come close to matching. The king of karting is back.

While it's ridiculous that PlayStation Studios only delivers one or two games a year, Ghost of Yōtei is the perfect example of how teams like Sucker Punch are true masters of their craft. The title does everything a sequel should, and the result is one of the best experiences of the year. While the title isn't perfect, Atsu's journey is captivating, and it makes clear that this anthology model the studio has created has the potential to expand indefinitely.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is, easily, the definitive edition of FFXII. It offers the same great adventure that many played and loved on PS2 and enhances it with many elements and additions that improve the overall experience. However, even with all of these, the game cannot avoid showing some aspects that look like little bit aged. Nevertheless, all of them are minimal and do not significantly affect the game by any means.

If you've tried the 3DS version, I'd say don't wait any longer and pick it up on any of the platforms where it's available, as you're likely to get hooked on its fantastic simplicity. Meanwhile, if you didn't get to play the first one, but this kind of RPG is more your thing, I also recommend it. I swear you'll become a fan.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a great fighting game with a friendly approach that makes it easy to play by any type of player, It can be enjoyed by both casual and hardcore players, but true fans of the original series are the ones who will appreciate it the most. Whatever your case is, you can be sure that this game will make you pass a really chaotic but fantastic time.

Star Ocean: The Second Story R is much more than a visual remake of the PlayStation classic. Gemdrops reworked a lot of the gameplay system and also aded tons of quality of life improvements that resulted in a better game than the original. A 2023 surprise, no doubt.

Do we recommend Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection? Yes. The truth is that, despite the flaws we already mentioned—chief among them the lack of a truly fresh proposal from the development team—Capcom is delivering a very solid turn-based RPG that I’m sure fans of this beloved IP will find especially charming, and that will likely serve as a great gateway for anyone who hasn’t yet given the series a chance. We would have liked more, there’s no doubt about that, but perhaps we’re asking for something that was never intended to be delivered.

If you're an arcade fan or have even the slightest interest in the subject, I'd say don't pass up the chance to get a copy, either digitally or wait for the physical release. It's not every day that these kinds of gems come around, so it's important to preserve them before the license expires again.

The last Lara Croft adventure comes with basic adjustments to its gameplay that make it an enjoyable and memorable experience. We loved the tombs, we loved the puzzles, we loved the exploration, we loved the world, we loved the combat. Even though not everything is completely perfect in Rise of The Tomb Raider, it’s a step in the right direction for the franchise.

If you are a fan of the first video game, you definitely have to try it, because as I already said, it expands the experience in terms of mechanics and also with a much larger map. On the other hand, if you are new here, you better tread with caution, unless you are already used to similar games that are placed in the RPG genre.
