Citizens of Earth has a good balance of humor, old-school RPG, and solid turn-based mechanics.

I can only do so much collectible hunting and identical mini-games, and this is coming from someone who has loved the inFamous games. As such, Gat Out of Hell is strictly for fans of Saints Row IV, those who have been wanting to play more of exactly that.

I cannot iterate enough that your time and money should only be invested if you like games that make fun of themselves, other games, pop culture, and never once takes itself seriously.

This War of Mine is a brave endeavor. We see wonders done with this game in a potential sequel; one that will hopefully get a bigger budget, so we can see the genre evolve even more.

It’s a fun distraction for the short term but unless this is the kind of meal you’d like to eat three times a day for the next twenty five years, you are going to find yourself not quite sated by what The Crew has to offer.

As a huge Halo fangirl myself, it absolutely breaks my heart to see Halo tarnished in this fashion. This should have been a solid slam dunk for 343, not an utter disappointment.

Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris has a lot of great ideas running behind it, but the execution fell a little short.

These HD collections are simply getting us all prepared for 2017, and the wait will all be worth it. I just know it. (Please don’t let me down.)

Just remember, if you do decide to hang out in the Himalayas, stop and enjoy the scenery. The environments are absolutely breathtaking.

Fortunately, all of the visual problems I personally experienced, which included severe texture popping and drops in frame rate, disappeared after Ubisoft’s large patch. It’s upsetting that the game was released in such an incomplete and unpolished state, but at the very least, it is fixed at this point.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue delivers a unique twist on the story by putting players on the other side, for once, and offering an insight as to how the Templar Order operates.

For people looking to get lost in a detailed world brimming with political intrigue, warring factions, tough choices that affect the story and gobs of replayability that will last you well beyond Fall and into the new year, Dragon Age Inquisition is a must buy.

The appeal lies in the game’s simplicity as much as it lies in its alluring wackiness, crazy characters and superb atmosphere.

Bayonetta 2 is one of the best action games of this generation, and close to one of the best overall.

Technically speaking the game is the best Call of Duty to date and even the story issues can’t detract from that.

I’ve played a lot of decent horror games and out of all of the classics like Resident Evil, Silent Hill and the more recent ones like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Outlast, I just cannot seem to find a place in my heart or in my brain for The Evil Within. It’s not worthy to tackle any of the aforesaid games. Not on any level.

Annoyances aside, this is the game for anyone itching for something that not only refuses to be taken seriously, it embraces its ridiculosity with open arms.

Skylanders Trap Team may break the bank a little, but it’s still a great game for kids, little and big alike.

Players get frustrated, scared and upset, and it all feels very convincing because they also get outsmarted by an AI and there are few games that can make such a claim these days. Creative Assembly gets a huge plus for enhancing the fear factor in this one.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor definitely isn’t for everyone, but I can almost guarantee that everyone who gives it a shot will find something enjoyable about it, regardless of whether you are a Tolkien fan or not.

In case it’s not obvious, no one should come to Hyrule Warriors expecting a traditional Zelda game. Hyrule Warriors is quite possibly the most anti-Zelda game out there, but it’s also perfect for those of us who have always wanted to send Link on a mass killing spree through hordes and hordes of moblins with the Master Sword.

While the atmosphere can be great from time to time, on the whole, we just missed the post-apocalyptic sci-fi flavored ambience that’s heavily incorporated into games like Fallout.

At least Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments can be broken up into manageable chunks in between your other gaming sessions. If you’re a fan of Sherlock Holmes or mysteries in general, I can’t recommend this one enough.

I especially hope that another cross-over comes down the line, as these two finger-pointers make mystery-solving magic together.

As much as I enjoyed Anomaly 2, I have a very hard time recommending the console version to anyone. Even this non-PC gamer thinks I would have had a far better time with a keyboard and mouse.

In almost every way Disney Infinity 2.0 earns its sequel badge as it has improved on the original.

At its core, Destiny is a loot grind shooter whose story hints at greater things to come.

It’s a sensation few games can match.
