If Platinum Games is involved, you can expect something exceptional. But with Star Fox Zero this is not always a good thing. Basically the fun and your ability to look behind the outdated visuals depends on how well you get along with the unintuitive control scheme that takes a lot of time to get used to.

Interesting at first, but in the long run this turn based tactics experiment gets quite monotonous.

It was a beautiful board game. And now it is a beautiful interactive experience. Poker, card tactics and Risk-like conquest merge and draw you into a world of scheming, bluffs and Cold War.

A small game with a simple concept. Well executed though and with sufficient VR support you can get your daily speed fix. [Tested with Oculus Rift]

Gunjack is like other early Vive titles: fast food without depth. Targeting via head movements works extremely well though and it is literally easy on the eyes. [Tested with Vive]

Less complex than Dwarf Fortress but visually more appealing Gnomoria places itself somewhere between the Settlers, the Anno franchise and Minecraft. Not a bad place to be.

As a door opener into the world of Vive-VR Valves tech demo The Lab is the perfect start. But when it boils down to games and mechanics there is not enough substance. [Tested with Vive]

It shows some flaws in terms of interactive storytelling, but nonetheless 1979 delivers a tense political thriller with strong characters.

Stories is a charming, but mechanically slightly superficial action roleplaying game, that heavily relies on its charismatic narrator and its open story structure.

This old-school dungeon crawler will give you enough content to spend a long time in the depths hunting for loot. But you should bring patience and a high tolerance for stale, dowdy presentation.

Is this game to the film to the game a reboot? A remake? A director’s cut? A best-of? Actually it is sort of all of the above and bigger as the sum of its parts. It is great to see Insomniac go back to their beloved action-duo, while on the way they produced the best movie related game since Rockstar’s The Warriors.

If you’re looking for another addition to your collection of twin-stick shooters, you might give this a try. But the art design aside this is average throughout. Fun, but average.

The fighting mechanics are easy to pick up and the all-female cast is varied. Nonetheless almost any fighter from ArcSystem gives you more in every aspect.

Six years after Demon’s Souls the series comes full circle. Dark Souls 3 is as intense as merciless. A beautiful conclusion to one of the most influential franchises in recent memory.

Of course it looks better than on the old gen consoles a few years back. But the conceptual and mechanical shortcomings are still evident. This serves as a warning in which direction Capcom shouldn’t go with the sequel.

While the story and the first class presentation show off Remedy’s skills, the shooter mechanics are not as convincing – even though the time manipulation is pretty cool.

The game design is as flat as the pretty ladies are curvy. A totally irrelevant collection of minigames with a hint of Tamaogotchi. But not even the boob bonus can save this beach vacation.

Call me an adventure romantic, call me crazy, but I love Day of the Tentacle and still think it is one of the best adventures ever made. Modernized in exactly the right spots and with an added developer commentary and alternative controls this is a masterpiece with beautifully crafted puzzles.

If you can look past the boobs that seem to be moved by hydraulic systems and the sometimes unbearably embarrassing dialogue you’ll find an interesting fighting system that gives Koeis Musou-games a run for their money.

If you don’t own a New 3DS, stay away from this, since the old-gen 3DS-systems can’t cope with the technical requirements. If you are the owner of a new system though, you’ll get the same musou fun in Hyrule as on the Wii U.
