The mix of tower defense and action still works as it did a few years back. But since the premiere of Toy Soldiers a lot of games mixed those elements. And in the end the war chest contains nothing to beat the competition once more. But then again: What you get is quite entertaining.

I hate it when I’m right. But games from Farsight can’t seem to show up without bugs or quirk. For example: Who had the idea to exclude worldwide leader boards?

Despite the lack of polish and variety Darksiders Genesis is an entertaining spin-off that keeps a lot of the franchises’ staples intact.

The stubborn insistence on co-op elements impedes more than it helps. But otherwise Capcom is on a good way back to old survival horror virtues with Revelations 2. And that is something that I didn’t think possible after the Resident Evil 6 experience.

Xbox fans had to wait a while, but now they also can experience this challenging puzzle experience. It is less adventure but more intensive puzzle marathon with creative tasks sometimes connected over multiple tiers that lacks a coherent combination of puzzle solving and story-telling.

If you’ve spent time with Final Fantasy 14 a few years back, you will not recognize the reborn Eorzea. Everything seems better connected, better thought through and better executed.

While the AI still has its downs in certain situations, it is a major improvement over the last time we met Karl Fairburne. Sniping in all its infamous glory hasn’t been this entertaining in a while. But the extreme X-ray camera is not for the faint of heart.

Focuses more on action and less on tactical advancement. Additionally the campaign is rarely a challenge. If you're into multiplayer (regardless if cooperative or versus) the Ghosts might be worth a closer look though. But if you're hoping to get a continuation of the virtues of Advanced Warfighter, you will be disappointed.

This is definitely one of the better VR “turret” shooters – the controls are spot on, the challenge level adequate. Unfortunately there is not enough content.

My hope to witness the reincarnation of a "small" Bayonetta was shattered fast. But nonetheless I haven't had this much fun with a brawler since the appearance of the Platinum witch - albeit it is a rather short time overall you can spend with the sweets sucking and chainsaw wielding cheerleader.

Loads of new content and the chance to follow your sims to work where you can try to help them achieve their goals. Too bad the careers don’t deliver equally – with mainly the doctors being the bad apples. That aside The Sims 4 is slowly getting back on track.
