Don’t get fooled by the cheesy description “Sci-Fi Romance”. This is an intelligent adventure novel. Unfortunately the puzzles can’t live up to the storytelling.

A really neat puzzler. But be aware: If you play with a friend or partner, get ready to communicate!

Visually and playfully attractive role-playing game in a varied world with an extensive lore. The many dialog options and interesting characters as well as the powerful combat system are among the highlights. However, not recommended for Xbox Series S.

Take a pinch of Rez, add a helping of Gitaroo-Man, serve with loads of electronic beats and fascinating visuals and you get a quite interesting rhythm game. With more content and better balancing this could easily play in the same league as Amplitude or Thumper.

Splatoon 2 is the equivalent to a beautiful, but moody girlfriend. Mostly you have a great time, but sometimes the inherited quirks are too much to bear. Having said that, the mechanics of this ink shooter still feel fresh, but some lack of content is still evident - as is the problem with time restrictions with certain modes (e.g. Salmon Run) and the finicky online app. (updated 07/21/17)

Frozenbyte manages to deliver a magical puzzle platformer that doesn’t build on innovation, but recreates the old the fascination missing from its predecessor.

This is as conservative as it can get. Pure hack & slay with a focus on the bigger, better loot. It helps though that it was made from fans for fans. And if you like your action RPG pure and focused on leveling and looting you will get loads of hours out of this.

Feeling truly powerless and helpless again? The latest Bloober Team game can help. In this space-age survival horror, people seem to die every second. You have to like it – but it's a lot of fun.

While it lasted (unfortunately not too long) it kept me entertained, since the combination of jump&run and rhythm game works surprisingly well.

If you like old school JRPGS and don’t know the 16 year old original or if you want to jumpstart your memories, you can’t miss this time traveling adventure.

Roguelite RPG, that invites you not only with its coop-option, but also the charming pixel design and the well constructed story. But technical issues as well as the high grind factor provide a setback.

Shinsekai is a quite atmospheric maritime adventure with not only a dense sound experience but some neat design ideas as well.

The fight against the robots is not as intense as Superhot VR – but the highscore hunt is catered remarkably well to suit VR needs and a technical masterpiece with accurate roomscale tracking. Content is limited, though.

Visually this is the best version, if you have the appropriate hardware. But neither the top-notch storytelling nor the best visuals can hide the fact that in terms of gameplay the series is stagnant.

Even with annoying design decisions like sacrificing atmosphere and deeper morale questions for the sake of arcade feeling this is a very interesting take on survival action. It manages to entertain you for about five hours and also serves as an appetizer for everybody looking forward to Naughty Dog's The Last of Us.
