The curse of the license strikes again. The action reminds me of Gauntlet and actually the Guardians stay as shallow and monotonous as the retro classic. No challenge and no variety make it difficult to appreciate the colorful art design.

It was clever to cut the name Resident Evil from the title. Even better it world have been to cut all ties to the Zombie-IP. With its technical flaws and abundant content this shooter is as much needed as another Operation Raccoon City or another hole in the head.

The concept is the most intriguing part of Entwined. Everything else is rather bland.

In theory, D&D: Dark Alliance is a decent action rpg with hack&slay appeal. But server problems and bugs are annoying while the chracter development is rather puristic.

The concept is interesting: Who doesn't want to see themselves in a cow costume with a sunflower hat and a guitar on your back throwing kicks that are as deadly as they are elegant? Unfortunately the execution of that concept is far less interesting.

While the mechanics definitely work better that in Lucius’ first killing adventure, the Devil’s son stumbles over bugs, clumsy UI and a total lack of atmosphere.

I was really looking forward to Infinite Air with its skate-infused controls. But unfortunately the control scheme is clumsy so your boarder feels like someone who had a few too many shots before going on the slope.

The concept was solidly transformed to VR and delivers nostalgic but sweet dance fun. The price tag isn’t worth the admission though...

As a tactical roleplaying game it serves its purpose, but when it comes to details in storytelling or game mechanics it becomes monotonous rather quickly.

Politics are a cumbersome topic for a game. But on top of that Power & Revolution tries its best to push you away. The interface is plain ugly, the consequences of your actions and decisions are vague. And on top the devs weren’t able to decide if they want to go down the serious or the joking path. You will need more than patience to fathom the depths of this newest iteration of the geopolitical simulator.

Mechically and in terms of storytelling disappointing VR premiere from Hidetaka Miyazaki.

After all the Call of Dutys, Medal of Honors and Battlefields this is… different and kind of interesting. But nonetheless I don't see enough reasons to spend more time with this steampunk sleeping pill than necessary.

In its best moments, the concept could give Bomberman a run for his money. But the fun is short lived and gets too hectic too soon for its own good.

A routine Telltale game based on the proven formula that slowly gets stale even with the Dark Knight as a protagonist.

An intense, atmospheric shooter which, however, cannot fulfill its potential due to its disastrous tech. Massive AI glitches, frustrating bugs and enormous performance problems cause significant frustration.

Almost everything that you associate with Ninja Gaiden is missing, above all the challenging difficulty level. Furthermore the intensity of the fights has been sacrificed to please the casual gamers. This feels more like a Dynasty Gaiden or Ninja Warriors than a true sequel to the once-feared franchise.

What a wasted chance. This could have been the multiplayer system seller. But with Bomberman’s past success in mind, the flimsy controls and lack of extras leave a lot to be desired.

This is a typical theme park experience: A lot to sea, an occasional highlight ride, but a lot of mediocrity to pass through.

Despite technical faults and chronically strained servers, Pokémon Go managed not only to spark my initial curiosity but kept me motivated – in its weird, strange way that defies all gaming definitions.

That Slitherine opted to release the strategy previously released on PSP, is not a bad choice. Unfortunately the conversion is below par and technically not up to date – not at all.

The good: The weak storytelling aside, Sacred Citadel doesn’t do anything wrong and ticks off every box in the fantasy-beat’em up manual that was written by Segas Golden Axe. Then again, it doesn’t do anything particularly right, either.

Datura fails in a lot of areas: The world is small, the interaction limited, playing time is rather short and controls are sloppy. Nonetheless the game paints some interesting pictures.

The combination of music and hack&slay is promising. But in the end this is just a rather dull clone of the latest Gauntlet that just scratches on the surface of its possibilities.

The steampunk approach in track and vehicle design is charming, but mechanics lack variety and most of all tight controls, regardless if you enter the course with a gamepad, keyboard or mouse at your disposal.

Pulse takes a distinctively different approach to blindness than Beyond Eyes. And while I welcome the gaming aspects that give you a sense of danger the audiovisual concept is hardly more than a tech-demo – a very arduous one, which makes the short playtime even sweeter.
