A rather bland reiteration of the well known formula. While the user generated challenges are fun to play the base game itself is rather not.

While the series’ photo shooting mechanics work well with the gamepad and the story is interesting enough to keep you hooked, the clumsy fights as well as the slightly boring characters try to drive you away from the ghost hunt.

There might be a decent park management hidden somewhere underneath, but on Switch the control scheme for RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is not only clumsy but imprecise as well.

The song selection is quite huge, but also very “special”, while the mechanics are merely solid and depending on the presence of the Taiko-Controller.

How this design could move beyond concept phase is beyond me. A lightning fast retro shooter that you have to play slow. Really? This is a boring hamster wheel of procedural synthesis. But it loses its grip on you faster than it can build motivation with its fast electro rock and inventive weaponry.

While most of the core mechanics are at least solid unfortunately what sticks in mind is the primitive portrayal of women.

Generic level design, a world without magic, technically weak: This is an exclusive disappointment for the new system.

Technically very basic, but well working cooperative online escape game with a focus on communication and collective puzzling.

It looks better than on consoles. And the added racing wheel support also helps to differentiate this racer from its siblings on PS4 and One. But the disappointment about all the wasted opportunities still is omnipresent.

Natural Doctrine shows a lot of potential – mainly thanks to the complex battle system with its focus on cooperation and positioning. But the game design (or more so: lack of) leads to a lot of frustrating moments and useless grind.

It’s enough milestone. While on one hand it is good to know that visually you finally reach a point which you should have passed a few years ago. And I also appreciate that at its core WRC4 is a decent game. But in the end this is little more than overpriced recycling of previously released tracks.

The science fiction story is interesting, but in the end Psycho Pass is little more than an anime adventure in a multiple choice corset with exhausting dialogue phases.

Outriders is a pleasantly brutal shooter, but in terms of gameplay and storytelling it is ill-conceived, while showing too many smaller and bigger flaws.

I was really looking forward to this. But here Itagaki-San is a mere shadow of his creative former self. Devil’s Third wants a lot: It wants to be a shooter like Call of Duty while maintaining the brute force of Ninja Gaiden’s close combat and presenting a deep story. But in the end it is nothing but generic and unfortunately it fails on most levels.

Even though it carries a venerable name and promotes hardcore mechanics Wizardry Online is just a very ordinary frumpy roleplaying game.

You can sense the good will and the intention to deliver a decent shooter . And while the splatter factor is satisfying and the shooter mechanics well thought out, technically this needs a lot of work – or the change to the newest version of Unity as BadFly implemented it on PC in September already.

An artdesign reminiscent of The Wind Waker is not enough to make a mediocre action-adventure interesting. Cornerstone shows a lot of potential as well as ambition, but in the end that is not enough.

It tries to be like The Talos Principle, but it plainly doesn’t reach it on any level, neither philosophically nor in terms of puzzles or immersion.

SBK Generations offers a lot of content thanks to the use of the superbike licence from 2009 to 2012. But at its core you get the same game as last year or the year before. It's enough.

Armored Core V is a very dull vision of a future filled with powerful mechs – even though the tactical options and the extensive construction of those metal beasts are quite impressive.

I enjoy 2d-roleplaying a la 16-bit, but here the Portuguese team from Aldorlea Games takes the easy way out. Where other retro developers try to combine old school visuals and mechanics with modern amenities, this is as pure as it gets – and sometimes it just feels old.

Definitely the weakest part of the most recent Atelier trilogy. Almost everything feels outdated. Having said that, the tactical turn-based battles are still fun, though.
