The game isn't going to eat up hours, but there is some added replay value in the Game Center achievements. For a casual pick-up-and-play title Cordy Sky is refined and lots of good free fun.

If you're looking for a unique way to get to know someone, Fingle might be right up your alley. Kudos for a developer trying something new and different, even if only the most dexterous can successfully play it.

Pointless exploration and super-repetitive environments aside, Brandnew Boy is one heck of an action game.

Fibble can be infuriating to deal with, particularly when things are just slightly awry, but the game still has its fun moments. With some tighter design in future levels, perhaps this would not be an issue, and the game would be a lot more fun.

Heroes vs Monsters is lots of fun. Even if it is very similar to another title, the overworld map as well as some other gameplay changes - such as defeating characters before being able to hire them - make it different enough to excuse.

Don't Kill the Squirrel is a good idea. The game behind the idea, though, really isn't up to scratch and is hard to recommend.

For now, Dabble is a brief but enjoyable distraction from my other word games. For a limited time it's free, and if you've got 10 or 20 minutes spare then it's absolutely worth a download. Maybe with some embellishing or a sequel it will grow into a must-have for word game enthusiasts.

The controls can be a bit difficult at times, but the gameplay is solid. The visuals are creative and whimsical. All in all, this game balances out really well and ends up being quite fun to play.

For a free game, Roadkill Chicken is a quality, though a bit disgusting and disturbing, game. It's worth checking out. And if the ads are annoying enough, the paid version may even be worth $0.99.

While there are some slight annoyances in Minidragon, it provided a fun overall experience. For $0.99, most players should get exactly their money's worth out of the game.

This aside, Gravity Fleet is still definitely worth playing. It's an interesting idea backed up by powerful weapons and cool looking ships – what's not to like?

An enjoyable enough game. Unfortunately, despite Clapfoot's best efforts, there are only so many ways the player can clear a room full of tanks before repetition sets in. Even the inclusion of a split-screen offline multiplayer option fails to liven things up, due to limited maps that are just too small.

Gnus Revenge is a treat to look at and adds several elements to space-physics games that Angry Birds Space doesn't have, but bad timing is bad timing.

The game is fun to play and easy to enjoy for a few minutes. Players won't be coming back to the game day after day or planning out intense strategies for each level, but they will get a few minutes of arcade shooter enjoyment and flashy visuals for free.

Sliced bread is a lot like other popular slicing games and doesn't offer anything new. However, it will entertain players for a little while and is easy to pick up.

It's not the deepest game, obviously, but the tilt controls are graceful enough, the pups are cute enough, and as quick and breezy distractions go it's plenty enjoyable.

GoldMiner OL is a fun and easy to play game. However, the paid version is only worth it if the free version doesn't offer enough game play.

While it's not really a racer in the technical sense, that doesn't keep Ion Racer from being entertaining. Fans of pretty much any kind of "runner" should certainly consider it. Everyone else should, too, because it's fun. It's also hard to put down and perfect for that pick-up and play gaming iOS users are accustomed to.

Galactic Alliance 2 doesn't do much to set itself apart from the rest of the genre. What it does do differently though, multiplayer, it does quite well. That alone makes it worth a look.

Even though I worry about Train Crisis HD+'s longevity, what's already there is certainly worth it. I can't get over just how much more interesting everything became once a few of those new elements were introduced. And to think, there's potentially at least twice as much game looming on the horizon!

The gameplay in Trial Xtreme 2 Winter Edition is essentially identical to the other Trial Xtreme games but it's clear that this similarity is borne of the "if it ain't broke" state of mind. It plays smoothly with very few hang ups. Players will enjoy this titles, even if they haven't played games of this style before.

Tree World is exceptionally simple but it's entertaining and oddly satisfying. It's the kind of game that will only ever require five minute sessions to check in on but there'll be a sense of achievement in that time.

AstroWings2 definitely gets the basics right, but small details like an odd in-app purchase model and camouflaged projectiles it stumbles right out of the gate. Nothing a little TLC can't fix, but it's tough to recommend in its current state. It does show promise, though.

It's not as deep as I'd like, but Oh, Sleeper – Stand Your Ground is still an entertaining game. It mixes two completely different genres with surprising success, too. I can only imagine how much more fans of the band will get out of it but the rest of us will probably have a fairly good time with it as well.

I absolutely adore roller coasters and endless games with simple controls are my favorite diversion; Madcoaster delivers both. But, what separates an instant classic from just another fun play and discard title is all in the details.

For all its failings, Tide of the Dead isn't really a bad game. It's just a very unpolished one.
