Over 150 well-designed levels means the player well definitely get value for money, and the werewolf ability adds a nice twist.

Not quite SSX for iOS, but close enough.

Foosball HD is a simple but well-made game. It's going to be one of those games I start up anytime I'm showing off my iPad to someone who's never used one. It makes great use of the Retina display graphics and multi-touch.

The controls in Scorched Monster are superb. Players will always feel in complete control of the game and won't often find themselves running off ledges or jumping when they don't intend to do so.

Cubemen is not the friendliest tower defense game out there, but its cross-platform support and unique elements are enough to make it a good recommendation for fans of the genre.

It's not the over-simplified "casual" 4X strategy game that will pull iOS users away from their bird flinging in droves, but it's definitely a great introduction to the genre. It's also an incredibly worthwhile purchase for on-the-go strategy lovers.

Aside from some nutty graphics, Sort Force is as standard as rhythm games can be. It's perfectly serviceable in an off-brand cereal kind of way. However, those looking for something more complex or exciting might want to look somewhere else.

Crow is universal. But owners of the new iPad should definitely choose their iPads over their iPhones to take advantage of the beautiful and strange graphics in the game.

As a platformer CreaVures is at best a tepid success, badly in need of a control makeover. But as a visual and even auditory adventure it's feast for the senses.

It's still entertaining despite the rough controls and cutscene glitches, plus it doesn't cost a thing. Not that being free is an excuse, but it certainly makes it easier to sate that curiosity.

For all my complaining and frustration, I cannot stop playing Fighter City. It does what it does incredibly well. Enough so that I'm actually anxious to jump into a fight or two every time I have a free moment. Speaking of which, I should have more energy by now.

Don't expect to make any masterpieces in Sketch Nation Studio, but the value here is in enabling the creativity of users. It's about taking a silly idea to fruition easily, and reveling in the creation of others along with it. Who knows, maybe the creator of the next great game will find their way into making the next great game thanks to Sketch Nation Studio, thanks to its accessible creation tools.

The gameplay is smooth and the controls work very well. This is a great title, and players might be surprised by how much fun they have. It's clear the developer has put some effort into this title and it shows.

Ultimately, StickWars 3 is an easy to play time waster. The minutes flow quickly while playing it but once put down again, it'll be forgotten nearly as fast. For the asking price, that's all that anyone could want.

Space Op! is a fun game with great visuals and easy game play. There's plenty of content due to a lot a levels and plenty of items to buy. It has a unique game play idea that is executed well and leads to a solid game.

Having gone through a lot of word games on iOS, I think the best compliment I can pay Letterbox is that it does something unique and that the something unique in question isn't just a gimmick.

Something else that's incredibly powerful is the plasma ball. Like most brick-breaker games, this ball passes through everything. While by itself it isn't a huge deal, when coupled with multi-ball (and multi-ball multiple times) it finishes levels almost instantly.

Speaking of weapons, they also do barely any damage to incoming asteroids/ships. Yes, they can be upgraded but the game is so stingy when it comes to giving out credits that the player will struggle to progress past a certain point.

For a free game, Freekick Battle's core gameplay is compelling enough that those who don't choose to indulge in the shop shouldn't feel too cheated. Conversely, while its extra content is weird and superfluous, it's still a nice option to have. Freekick Battle is great for anyone looking for an on-the-go soccer fix.

Propel Man is the start of a potentially good game, but currently it's repetitive and lacks variety. If the developers added additional game play elements and more items to buy in the in-game store, it could make the game much more fun.

It's always nice to see games like 15 Fireworks that try to do interesting things in the well-worn puzzle genre. Too bad, in today's fast-paced puzzle world, it just can't keep up.

The controls make me question the future of such extraordinary titles on iOS devices. Rockstar Games has clearly done everything possible to make them work but there's still that sense that this would all be so much easier with a physical controller.

Anyone who played Spaceward Ho! during its glory days on the Mac will be pleased to know that the transition to iOS is virtually seamless. Touch controls work effortlessly, except for a few occasions when it's hard to select a specific unit to move.

Ski Solitaire is pretty similar to Fairway Solitaire but without the allure (or possibly, the threat) of in-app purchases. Pay the price to buy it and the player gets everything that Ski Solitaire has to offer.

If this is the first time playing a game in the RTS genre then it's going to take some practice to even touch the tip of the iceberg of its gaming potential. Even as a person who has played a good amount, I find myself amazed at how much playing time there is on Imperium Galactica 2.
