While it probably won't have as significant an impact as the previously released Lego properties, Legends of Chima: Speedorz certainly has the potential to be a family friendly time sink for those looking for a lighthearted racer. Plus, when factoring in the additional content coming down the road, there is no reason not to give this free romp a try.

Infinite: Prime is a very enjoyable game, but falls short by only providing four levels. I was just starting to really have a good time when the game came to an end.

Yumby Smash is yet another reminder that breaking something down can be just as fun as building it up. It's cathartic.

The game's physical mechanics are so well-executed that I enabled the push notifications with some anticipation mixed with my disappointment in the current product.

Overall, there is fun to be had here, however. Objectives exist in the capture of rockets, but most matches seem to exist merely to kill each other, whereby it offers many an option to the player.

It's a shame that Ronin takes a bit of time to hit its stride because it runs the risk of scaring off impatient players. However, anyone who sticks with it for a level or two will undoubtedly find plenty of enjoyment. So long as they never put more than one finger on the screen, anyway.

This game is truly fascinating to me: it does so much in its minimalism, comfortable to let the player learn and figure out what it offers. It's a triumph of game design. Play this.

Don't let the gorgeously stunning art style fool you either, because it actually manages to play EVEN BETTER than it looks.

The short of it is that Spaceteam is an absolutely stupid amount of absolutely stupid fun for any small group of iOS users. Whether they idolize Gene Roddenberry or love satirizing Captain Kirk.

The repetition will be a killer for some people, but there's plenty of entertainment to be had here too. For fans of the art style or those that just want a frantic game, this is worth the download.

Badly Drawn Movies is a very simple and fun movie guessing game. It has a humorous vibe to it and is dead simple to play. Any movie fanatic will enjoy it and it has enough movies so that most people will be able to guess many of them.

There are four different skaters, each of which is an animal. All of the racers look really weird. They are not drawn badly by any means, but the clothing and look of all the skaters is strange. For instance the rabbit is wearing pink-rimmed star glass and looks like it's sewn down the middle, and the octopus is wearing a boat anchor necklace.

Last Knight is a fantastic looking game, and could potentially be a bunch of fun if it weren't so unmercifully frustrating. It definitely doesn't need more options, but the ones that are already present need some serious tightening before I'd consider this game to be anything more than a showpiece.

I do recommend it despite having not really been a huge fan of it. If these kinds of brain-teasers, if the thought of unwrapping a tricky puzzle sounds delightful, then go for it! But if not, then I suggest moving on. It's a fine game, but one that never got its hooks in me.

It's a shame, because the 2D gameplay does provide a nice counterpart to the complexity that Grand Theft Auto introduced, the visual style is still rather unique and surprisingly colorful. At times, the appeal of the game shines through. But when the package still feels this rough, why settle for anything less than the real thing?

While the package is technically sound, the inherent limitations of touchscreen gaming unfortunately just hold Metal Slug 1 back. Only dedicated fans in need of a fix, or those extremely curious, should dig in and check it out.

Overall, Pixel Defenders Puzzle is a good mash-up of a match 3, strategy, and combat game. It's not what a causal gamer looking to kill a few minutes will want, but for a more dedicated person, it could be exactly what they are looking for.

Setting aside the spotty voice work and choppy animations, The Journey Down: Chapter One is still an adventure worth taking. It doesn't trump work from Telltale or Lucasarts, but with a little more refinement it could sit comfortably at the table with them.

It's full of wonderful illustrations, delightfully twisted humor, and just enough nuance to set itself apart from other similar titles. It's totally my new favorite.

Mutant Fridge Mayhem – Gumball oozes fun. From the well-polished artwork and enjoyable music to the addicting gameplay and exciting power-ups, it's an instant classic and highly recommendable.

It's an intriguing game and quite artistic in its appearance, but one that I suspect will only ever be a trifling distraction rather than anything to play for any great length of time.

The Great Jitters: Panic Ride doesn't quite have the 'just one more go' factor that other Endless Runners offer, but it is quite enjoyable. Unlike other titles in the genre, it gets right into the action so there's no slightly dull start to contend with, instead things speed up instantly.

Ravensword: Shadowlands is a must-have for fans of open-world RPGs who want this kind of major experience that they can take with them on their phone, and then sit back and enjoy while on the couch with their iPad.

The Portal of Power is the best justification for this game. For those looking for a new reason to use their Skylanders figure collection, or wanting to get into it, then buy the Portal of Power and go crazy. Otherwise, stay away: as a purely-virtual experience, it's somewhat lacking.

Ma3e is like very strong alcohol. It takes an idea and distills it down to such a pure, undiluted form that it is almost too much, it's off-putting.

I'd have expected to be more interested in the faster-paced riding elements found in Horseworld 3D, but in all honesty it's the methodical horse maintenance that holds the most entertainment value.
