The original Lumi was a must-have game. This iOS port is even more so. It's actually less expensive and will be featuring even more content (game modes, levels, etc.) thanks to planned future updates. Fans of platformers or stylistic indie games in general shouldn't let this one slip by unnoticed.

A refreshing puzzler. I wasn't sure if I would like it at first, but I enjoyed the game the more I played it due to the increasingly difficult puzzles. The impressive graphics combined with the logical gameplay make this indie title perfect for gamers of all ages and types.

Originality is all but impossible in the modern age, so let's just blow over where On the Wind draws its inspirations from and how heavily. What matters is that it's beautiful to look at, fun to play, and challenging enough to keep me coming back for more than a few goes. Still, one hopes the developer's next game isn't called Voyage.

About the only thing that bothers me about Zombiewood is the virtual sticks. Their hit boxes just feel too small. I suppose it also takes a bit to earn Special Money to use on fancier stuff, but the daily slot machine and multiplayer challenge mode (a.k.a. The Arena) are both viable ways to earn it faster. I have to admit I had my doubts, but Gameloft has really come through here and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Sometimes even the best ideas can't survive lackluster execution.

It's a case of brains over brawn in puzzler Hellraid: The Escape, as players take down demonic foes using only their ingenuity and the environment itself.

High score junkies, retro gamers, and achievement hounds should really enjoy the classic fun provided by Dawn of Play's tribute to the early days of handheld gaming.

Amazing Alex is a very engaging and challenging game, and presents all the proof needed that Rovio isn't just a one-trick birdy.

Impossible Road lives up to its title, but in its challenge and minimalistic style is a game with some great hooks.

Heroki is a charming action adventure game with a couple of niggles.

Level-5's newest Layton adventure is a bit of a departure from the norm but it's still pretty darn cool.

Heroes of Destiny is a free to play action rpg that remains fun in spite of its money-making model.

Rotate a maze in order to feed a baby in this cutesy and surprisingly enjoyable physics puzzler of sorts.

Warhammer 40,000: Carnage is a very straightforward action game that knows it, and maximizes the strengths it has.

The graphics are stunning, the concept is fresh, and the controls are tried and true.

Don't miss this spiky gem. If putting that shiny new iPad or iPhone to great gaming use is the journey, Crazy Hedgy is the destination.

Fans of the Metroidvania genre of platformer will find a great example of the genre here.

Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins is not the strongest title by Kaigan Games, but it's certainly better than their most recent efforts. A guided experience led mostly by a pre-established fictional universe takes a lot of the mystery out of searching through this lost phone, but it manages to do enough character work to keep you invested in seeing it through.

Amateur Surgeon 3 keeps the same goofy gameplay that Adult Swim's series has been known for, but is now free-to-play, for better or for worse.

The act of hitting an object that's careening towards the center of the screen isn't complex in any way, but it can be fun. Quite a bit of fun, actually. And the option to choose from three different difficulties makes it possible for players with a fairly wide range of skill levels to partake.

It's more involved than a typical corridor flyer, looks great, plays well and is absolutely loaded with challenge. The price might look a bit scary, but I think fans of this kind of game will get their money's worth here.

The shaking method to destroy the droplets is a nice touch but Liqua Pop still feels like something that either needs a price drop or some extra features to make it truly worth a purchase.

There is absolutely no point to Doodle God, other than "gotta catch 'em all!" But, in some weird way…it's addictive. Insanely so.

Providing more storyline and more intrigue, Republique: Episode 3 is a fun journey if a little repetitive in places.

Vlambeer deserve credit for making a fantastic game, and along with Halfbot, they deserve a ton of credit for making this a shining example of how to bring this kind of game to mobile properly. Even after all the weapons were unlocked, I still found myself chasing after the unlockable characters and modes that require superhuman-level performances in order to succeed. This sets a high bar for other iOS releases to try and match this year.

It'll take more than a terrible script with horribly awkward dialog to derail this impressive JRPG.

It is brilliant and beautiful, but the control issues put a real damper on my enjoyment of the game.

Featuring everything from immersive environments to an expansive campaign, AXL: Full Boost is a game that is well worth checking out.
