This is not to say that MapleStory Cygnus Knights Edition is a bad game, it's just that I've played better. And its controls aren't so hot.

It's certainly got potential, but in its current state it feels like a broken mess. I suppose time will tell if it can eventually live up to all the accolades.

Tecmo Bowl may have the soul of the classic series, but it lacks the technical execution to be as good as its ancestors.

If you're looking for a digital version of Eight-Minute Empire, this release provides exactly what you're looking for. Although it may take quite a bit of time to get an asynchronous match going, the game otherwise works as intended. That said, playing Eight-Minute Empire isn't all that satisfying, especially if you are looking for a strategic, empire-building experience.

As a big fan of the genre, I felt quite let down by Fix-it-up: Kate's Adventure. While there was some enjoyment to be found and I liked being left to my own devices to an extent, the game doesn't have that extra dose of fun that keeps me coming back to Stand O' Food 3 or Supermarket Mania 2 long after completing them.

Its heart might be in the right place, and it might be briefly fun, but Chipotle Scarecrow lacks staying power.

Although a decent sized RPG, Across Age 2 is too derivative of its predecessor to offer anything new and different here.

It's tragically funny when a concept that shouldn't work actually does, but ends up not being any fun thanks to a punishing IAP economy.

Drag'n'Boom is a neat arcade game that makes a great first impression, but it falls off hard because of its lack of difficulty and tuning. If there were some more complicated level designs or a limit to your powers, I could see Drag'n'Boom being a really satisfying platformer, but instead it's just a flashy power trip that gets old pretty quickly.

While it offers plenty of in-app purchases, not once did I feel forced to buy anything extra which felt refreshing. It won't be long till players find themselves a little underwhelmed by Stick Swipe, however, despite its very promising start.

Most players have probably seen or played this game before, but they're still going to enjoy this title regardless.

Worst of all, that's the same price as Broken Sword: Director's Cut, a far superior title. For those who have already enjoyed the delights of such excellent adventure games, it might be worth delving into Reversion: The Escape. For everyone else, though, I'd suggest caution till we see more of what comes of this series.

When a game only focuses on one mechanic, it better execute on it pretty flawlessly. Trampoloons only aspires to be a time waster but its sketchy controls and lackluster look and sound keep it from fully reaching even that lofty standard.

While it can be frustrating to play, the game has some interesting puzzles to try and solve, and the trying to plan out all of its timing-based puzzles are challenging but rewarding when they work. The core of the game just doesn't feel like it quite works at the moment.

jtpck is a good infinite runner game. It doesn't have any innovative or novel features, but there aren't really any negative aspects to it. Fans of infinite runners will definitely find something to like in it, but others who are tired of the genre may want to think about it.

To its credit, the game does feature a limited multiplayer feature, but on a whole it's MUCH easier to recommend Civilization: Revolutions to anyone interested in civ building on his/her iPad. While there's a difference in price point between the two games, sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Addressing the supremely lacking controls would certainly go a long way to making Samurai Tiger more palatable. However there's a fair number of numerous smaller tweaks (better aiming, smoother combat, improves flow) that are also fairly essential at this point. As-is, it's not much to be excited about.

60 levels are available in all, as well as a Bomb mode that's mostly more of the same, so there is good value for money, but it'll take a patient sort to keep playing. The visual style may be wonderful to look at but everything else is pretty lacking.
