I applaud Meganoid (2017) for its ambition. The roguelike platforming that Spelunky offers feels like a great fit for mobile. Unfortunately though, this game doesn't quite capture the magic of its source material, offering a decent, but sub-optimal, platforming for the kind of game it's trying to be.- 148Apps

The environments in Street Wrestler are simply gorgeous. The cell shaded art style, the detailed design, and the dynamically animated backgrounds all make this game one serious piece of stylish eye candy. The controls aren't flawless, but they work well enough that the player can focus on fighting bad guys instead the controls.- 148Apps

This horror game is an enjoyably twisted and complicated web of narrative, but it feels perhaps a little too laser-focused on its core mystery.- 148Apps

Visual puzzles in REBUS flip between the laughably easily and the soul-crushingly difficult, making it feel a tad off-balance - even if it is satisfying in places.- 148Apps

Aside from my micromanagement woes, I like the path that Legendary War takes with the graphics and the story. Both are rich with detail, but not so crazy that you don't know what's going on. In other words, it's pretty and in-depth, but never confusing or hopeless.- 148Apps

Golfing Around is good, simple fun. If you just want a golf game that resembles old school titles like Fuji Golf, this game definitely delivers. Golfing Around is only really disappointing if you know going into it that the creator behind this game used to have ideas like what if slo-mo platforming and also golf? and is now just presenting a no-nonsense golf game with a course creator. It just feels a little underwhelming compared to his previous output, even though this effort is perfectly pleasant for what it is.- 148Apps

The game is aggravating and fun at the same time thanks to what seems like an easy task quickly escalates into a frenzy of herding chickens and foxes. Don't let the cutesy setting fool you, this is a challenging game and obtaining three stars on every level is not an easy task.- 148Apps

It’s not raining men, or cats and dogs, but it is raining words and word game adrenaline junkies might want to hop on board. This is not for the faint-hearted academic; speed is the name of the game.- 148Apps

Shardlight is a solid adventure game that bungles a few story and puzzle elements toward the end of it. As a port, it could use some work on being made a little more mobile-friendly too. Overall, it's not one of Wadjet Eye's strongest releases, but it's still enjoyable as far as conventional point-and-click adventure games go.- 148Apps

Deep Flare: Lander is every bit as simple and oddly fun as its inspiration from the 70s, but it’s also every bit as “classic.” There’s absolutely nothing new here, aside from some rather bothersome ads. Nostalgic Lander pilots will most likely enjoy it despite the occasional thumb slip but I’m not entirely sure younger, more contemporary-minded App Store shoppers will find it all that special.- 148Apps
