iOS gamers looking for a challenge from their games will be satisfied by Commander Pixman, as it is extremely difficult.

In Between has some frustrating snags, but it's engaging and tells a sweet story.

The way Solid Soccer makes multiplayer soccer feel like an easy, pick-up-and-play experience while remaining satisfying is commendable. It's not the deepest soccer game out there, but that's clearly not what it's going for. Instead, it offers up some good and light multiplayer soccer that is reminiscent of old-school soccer games.

If there is a game equivalent to a beach book, Finger Shoes is it. It's not going to tax the mind, but it does make a terrific light summer diversion for those who love fast-tapping action games.

Though light on innovation, Best Fiends is still a slug-squashing good time.

It may not be for everyone, but Machines at War 3 is easily one of the smoothest playing RTS experiences that can be had on the iPhone.

GNOG takes a simple emerging genre and smartly gives the additional depth it deserves.

The multiplayer is the real star here: there's a whole bevy of modes to check out with players form around the world.

Zombie Area! may not have a ton of unlockable content or special challenges to artificially draw out its length, but it honestly doesn't need any of those things. It hearkens back to the good old days of video games, where there were no save points or tutorials. A simpler time where games were just fun, and that fun is what kept us coming back again and again.

Zombies & Trains! isn’t cerebral in any way but it’s a great way of annihilating stress levels at the speed of, well, a fast moving train. Coins that can be used to accrue new upgrades and bonuses increase at a slow rate, but other than that, it’s smooth sailing for the gory yet fun filled zombie slasher.

This aside, Gravity Fleet is still definitely worth playing. It's an interesting idea backed up by powerful weapons and cool looking ships – what's not to like?

Haunted Hollow has two mansions battling for complete control of the town below. Players send ghosts, vampires, mummies, zombies, werewolves, reapers and more into action to seize control of the town from the other mansion’s monsters.

The only real problem I had was that the tiles were tough to move and rotate sometimes. The controls just weren't as responsive as they could have been. I'd say 10% of the time the tile wouldn't move when I wanted it to. Otherwise, the controls worked great.

If you are a fan of Pong and Breakout, or are just looking for a way to pass a few minutes here and there, The Ball Is Too Fast is a great buy. It's not exactly the deepest game out there, but it's quite fun for what it is.

Offering frantic Match-3 style gaming, albeit with an unique twist or two, Blitz Block Robo is a fun way to score chase.

Cipher-lovers will find plenty of entertainment with Cryptogram. It's a very old concept, and certainly not unique, but Cryptogram is a solid app with plenty of puzzles, and I've enjoyed it a lot.

Shinobi III is a very fun action game that holds up well to this day, and while the controls are an occasional nuisance, they do not detract enough to take away from the game's action fun.

Limbic delivers their take on Flappy Bird, by making it a game about skillfully not flapping.

Botanicula is an adventure game that might be a bit frustratingly-abstract at times, but is a beautiful experience.

The kind of game that players will enjoy alongside the family, or when they just don't want to be taxed too much. Sure, the later levels will test them more so but the journey there is what we pay for, really.

Silly Family is a puzzle game with a unique family tree theme that will keep players focused and thinking logically.

The classic PC sim makes its way to iOS, complete with rewarding gameplay and a convoluted interface.

Definitely worthy of the title of a real flight simulator for iOS. It has been well adapted for the mobile platform and the whole gaming experience feels very natural.

Sagrada’s competitive dice-drafting gameplay is excellent in digital form, though it’s multiplayer mode could still use some work.

Peace and tranquility flow through this puzzler like water.

A fun and inspired endless running game, putting a fresh twist on the classic Pac-Man game.

Crimsonland is an intense twin-stick shooter that lets players paint the town red. Literally.

Aside from the few minor issues Steampunk Racing 3D is absolutely a fun racing game. There are plenty of apps in this genre, but this one is particularly intriguing and worth checking out.

Pengi promises over 100,000 distinct puzzles and vows that no two puzzles are the same which is certainly great value for money. So while Pengi might not be an instant buy, you really should give it a shot. It's deceptively brilliant and offers a heck of a lot of longevity.

My masculinity might have dropped a few notches for enjoying Bathtime Boogie so much, but it was well worth the sacrifice.

Rebel Inc. is fascinating and fun, but if you find a strategy in the game that works, it works just about everywhere. This doesn’t bode well for a game that doesn’t really have enough story or other content to it to switch things up dramatically, but somehow I still find the game fun. It’s just oddly satisfying to walk through the steps of returning a region to stability, even if the way you go about it is largely the same every time you do it.

Even though this game may suffer from being overly simplistic, it still deserves a try. Senkai Puzzle is an intriguing app that brings with it a different take on the popular cube-rotating game we all know and love from our childhood. Give it a shot.

There's really no reason not to check out Father and Son. It's a beautiful, free game that tells a solid story along the way. Go get it, and go visit the Naples Archaeological Museum to get more of it to play if you like it.

Never Stop Sneakin’ is a pretty great game, provided you aren’t looking for tactical stealth game with a deep set of systems or lore. The game includes suggestions of these things, but these only operate as a means of making fun of Metal Gear Solid and nothing more. That said, what is in Never Stop Sneakin’ is fun and feels great, I just wish there were a little more variety to make it feel a little less grindy.

In the end, Scrabble/Words With Friends fans who are looking for something a bit different will really love the variety of the Abble Dabble game boards, but traditionalists would do better to stay still.

Though it starts slowly, Transformers: Earth Wars has enough strategy and robots smashing stuff to hold your attention.

In a nutshell, as long as you are willing to put up with an amazingly sharp difficulty curve, Abstract War will entertain and delight.
