This was.. actually really good? Outside of some questionable production choices on some of the Antonoff-ian tracks (which is a personal let down to say the least - what the hell is going on with the mix on mirrorball?) she really gels with the sound. Didn't think I'd see a Bon Iver collaboration in this lifetime nor would I have thought it'd be as good as it is. This year is full of surprises.

Arte!!! No soy su fan, pero me encantan los géneros que abordó y su voz es muy agradable. Disfruté de cada canción, las puedo escuchar una y otra vez y no me cansaría o aburriría. Gustos son gustos. Un placer auditivo.

Probably her best work yet, the way she enters the scene and just drops everything without any promo or any announcement is amazing, queen of music today and forever ‼️

For sure it is different from what we are used to from Taylor, however, the album is a masterpiece. Has the ability to transport you to a whole new scenario, where you are isolated, it is cold but you still have the warm from a stove while grooving to the songs. Besides, every story has a unique way to transmit the right emotion attached to it. Vey boring and slow. Not much lyrical maturity from her previous albums or vocal growth. The reviews have made this album out to be on Tracy Chapman or Joni Mitchel level and it really is not.

This album just defines what it means to be an artist, not just a singer. Taylor’s story telling carries the entire tracks with soft melodies but impactful imagery that makes you feel as if you’re reading an adult storybook. She’s a genius, your honor.

From a surprise release to transitioning from pop to alternative with smooth ease, Taylor Swift has surprised us all once again! This album is a great body of work that proves Swift's great songwriting abilities and that she can still create sad songs from a place of happiness just using her imagination. Folklore is truly a lyrical masterpiece that deserves all the acclaim it received.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
