I'm really surprised about this new album of hers. Quite wishing in the past that she'll release this alternative/indie folk genre. It shows how she is one of the greatest songwriter up to date. Congrats Taylor!

this is by far taylor's lyrically strongest album, with each song better than the last. and clearly this genre shift comes as a surprise but definitely a welcome one. special praise for making the album remotely and in such short time, although never compromising with the quality of the content. two words: love it!

And the haters gonna hate, hate... podem dizer o que for mas uma coisa é certa, Taylor Swift se empenha ao máximo pra trazer um trabalho pra ninguém botar defeitos e esse álbum é a prova disto. Incrivelmente impecável, a sonoridade, tudo!!! TAYLOR SWIFT É A INDÚSTRIA MUSICAL.

Folklore has a narrative, melody and lyricism that perfectly fits our current world, the melancholy of the melody matches the saddest summer we all ever lived, collectively.

Boring af, only good song is the one with Bon Iver. ANYBODY could make this album, and I mean any random person you pick out on a crowded street. But I'm sure the Taylor fanatics will give it a 10/10.

When you think of Taylor this is not the kind of music you expect. But I must applaud the effort for trying to make a folk album

This is Taylor's greatest album both lyrically and vocally. The whole album gives such an indie vide which suits her best in my opinion. If I could, I will give this album a 1000/10.

Folklore is an emotionally written album. It was produced beautifully and its one of the best album of this year. Kudos to Swift for making an amazing alternative album even if its her first.

This album was all I needed. Heartfelt, deep lyrics. Nothing seems rushed or forced here. The production is delightful, the strings, the harmonica, her soft voice. I can't recall liking an album so much at my first listen, it transported me to her world in every story so easily. Thank you Taylor.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
