This album finds Taylor at her most creative, vulnerable, experimental and ethereal. Honest and raw, every word, melody and character arc is so carefully crafted that it plays out in the most beautiful way. This is storytelling that transcends the fate of music in modern times. Honest and raw, every word, melody and character arc is so carefully crafted that it plays out in the most beautiful way. This is storytelling that transcends the fate of music in modern times. This is songwriting that will be eternal. And this is why I see the title makes so much sense, this album and it's stories will go on and on forever. The lyrics provoke feelings of happiness and sadness, they feel like a peek at your childhood memories, hugging friends and loved ones you haven't seen in years, a nostalgia you can't quite place in your chest, an immersive love you can't quite tell how much space in your heart it takes. Longing for something that was never truly there, heartbreak, forgotten memories. Folklore feels like that and so much more.

An experience so magical, soulful, honest, real and wondrous it will survive the pass of time. Her best work so far. Thank you Taylor for pouring your heart and soul in everything you do.

Album non male, Taylor Swift cerca di uscire dal commerciale facendo questo enorme passo, avrei preferito altro però. Oltretutto album anche fuori tema estivo, lo avrei preferito in inverno, nel resto più che sufficiente.

    Bafflingly gorgeous.
Taylor stepped up once a Gaian with the perfect mix of music and lyrics. She is going to lure a totally new audience with this album. She is now the indie record that “was much cooler than her”..

The attention to detail in this album is like no other. This is my favourite album of the year. Listening to Folklore just makes me wish it was Autumn time. The songs in this album spark what the Danish call 'hygge' it just brings you a feeling of cosiness, that many other artists struggle to do.

Folklore is the album I've been waiting for Taylor Swift to make. It showcases her unmatched ability to write songs that take you to another world. There are no production frills to distract you from the core of the songs, but sonic backdrops that bring her stories to life.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
