No overthinking. Just thin skin and honest words. Outside of the songwriting, the visuals are perfectly aligned with the sonics. A diamond in sepia.

This is one of Taylor's most impressive albums - a beautiful, mysterious and cohesive work of art. And not to mention that her storytelling is so marvelous and special!

Lyrics don’t get better than this, she’s the artist of the decade. No skips at all and the intertwining stories between the songs, no one, no one is doing it like her!

`and I think you should come live with me
    and we can be pirates
then you won't have to cry
    or hide in the closet
and just like a folk song
our love will be passed on`

Just like the title suggests, these are songs that are not based on Taylor Swift’s experiences. Nevertheless, she was able to tell stories in the most vibrant (and at times darkest) ways. The character arcs that she created felt too real that the multiple songs for the same narrative were never boring. She truly is one of the greatest lyricist of our time.

I would like to start by saying that the people who are calling this album "basic" have no idea what they're talking about and are probably just some haters who can't stand the fact that Taylor Swift has a better album than their favourite artist. This album is nowhere even close to basic. So, I'd recommend not considering the reviews with a 0 rating. This album is synonymous with perfection. The beauty of the album, the lyrical versatility, the production, the vocals, the collaborations!!! This album legitimately makes you feel things you probably didn't even think you could feel.

This album is something I never knew I needed. I would 100% recommend this album to anyone who enjoys good music. In fact, this album IS good music. This album IS great music. This is the kind of quality music that should be made by more artists. Ms. Swift has gained a new fan today!

I lover her character building and sequence. She's an amazing song writer and has potential for penning a Poem or book too.
Taylor Swift is the epitome of beautiful lyricism and unparalleled charm. Her words are enticing and yet calming, she captures her listeners. No wonder this woman is discredited by the industry. Taylor swift is a literall queen in her own right. Everybody should give

The album shows how powerful the musical skills of Taylor Swift has enhanced over the years. Her songwriting is par excellence and the voice is so soothing that it can heal all the wounds whatsoever. A true work of art as usual has been delivered by Taylor Swift with her 8th album.

Seems like taylor been making the same music. I know her video now is really amazing yet the music totally the same back on her debut era. She turns her pain against scooter braun into country.

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
