Taylor Swift has outdone herself this time. Each album has its own era, own sound, and this one does not disappoint. The lyrics are outstanding, the music is out of this world. She is the greatest songwriter of our generation. Instead of continuing to write about her own life, she tried story writing and it did not disappoint. Hands down, amazing!

The album isn't really made for everyone, but I personally wanted a mellow and calm Taylor Swift album and finally I got one, and I'm not disappointed in any possible way. Taylor again proves why she is one of the most intelligent songwriters of our time and proves that she doesn't need production heavy songs to shine.
Folklore as a whole is a combination of red and reputation sonically and lyrically respectively. Taylor Swift shows how she can formulate different fictional characters and make us feel what she was feeling when she wrote those characters. She also touches upon some of her past struggles and sings them melodiously like a literal, folklore. She describes every single thing in songs beautifully and maturely. Loved this album and I'll never get tired of it. Like ever (pun intended)

AMAZING! Just brilliant! It's a cohesive album with themes that she hasn't explored before. It's refreshing to see this side to her music and songwriting ability is top-notch as always

Throughout sixteen tracks, Taylor is smart enough not to let the amateur mistakes of her previous album surrender, not tiring us by hand picking mystical times that reflect with explosive ambiguity the title of that album. Perhaps the biggest impact of ‘Folklore’ is natural and organic ability to be unconventional. Perhaps the biggest impact of ‘Folklore’ is natural and organic ability to be unconventional. Boldness bubbles in each of the songs, with elegance and refinement that deserve attention, and that they certainly will have. More than that, the album is, when compared to the rest of Taylor Swift's career, the height of an artistic dominance that still has a lot to show us. Expand

Betty, exile, and august are my personal favorites right now, Cardigan which is the lead of the album comes into my top 5 which I hadn't expected at all given how poor Taylor's single choices have been. This album is just begging to be the soundtrack of a coming of age sapphic indie film. Expand

This album is RED's child... gives me 2012 feelings ♥ Exile for sure is one of the best songs of it! To be honest I'm not much fan of alternative, but everything that Taylor does is such a masterpiece, deal with it!

Un gran álbum, tarde un poco en centrarme en los nuevos géneros, pero me olvide que era Taylor, y ella nunca decepciona, sin duda uno de los mejores álbumes del año.

On once again we see Taylor reinventing himself, honestly it is one of the best jobs he has done, he has good rhythms and very good lyrics, I am speechless and the only thing left for me to do is Applaud her and I kept supporting her. She is a great composer and we are very moved by the heart, it is simply a It is a work of ART.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I hate being the person that says “I miss the old sound of this artist” because I understand that musicians have to evolve and explore their art... However, I did miss her old sound. This album blends well the ‘old Taylor’ and ‘new Taylor’ perfectly. Even when she was experimenting with pop music and the likes, her lyricism was beautiful but personally, since I’m not a big fan of western pop music (or at least the one they play on the radio nowadays), it distracted me from her beautiful storytelling; but with Folklore it was all about it. She’s an amazing songwriter and I’m in love with this album. Expand

    SPEECHLESS.

The lyricism, the whimsical journey through a story arc. This is just an incredible album.

The way these lyrics give you more than a typical tv show plot! The trio of cardigan, August and Betty - tells a crazy love triangle from each perspective! Nobody else has the talent to do THIS!

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
