I was beautifully surprised about this album drop, it was everything I didn’t expect from Taylor in regards to the production of the music and style. This album is Red’s big sibling, more mature, emotional, and sonically cohesive. Her talent as a storyteller really shines throughout the album.

Su mejor disco a la fecha. Es una mezcla de Speak Now+RED pero mucho más maduro. El disco es pura poesía, 100% Taylor Swift.

i’ve listened fully to the entire album, and it’s not horrible. but i was expecting more i guess. this definitely isn’t her best album, but is ok. my favourite tracks are probably epiphany and betty, because of how they sound and just lyrics behind it. i do recommend this album. but i would have to rate it between 6 or 7. i do really enjoy the alternative part. but i was hoping more of ai’ve listened fully to the entire album, and it’s not horrible. but i was expecting more i guess. this definitely isn’t her best album, but is ok. my favourite tracks are probably epiphany and betty, because of how they sound and just lyrics behind it. i do recommend this album. but i would have to rate it between 6 or 7. i do really enjoy the alternative part. but i was hoping more of a getaway car, delicate, or cruel summer type of song. a song that’s slow and calming but also has a lot of belts. those are probably taylor’s best tracks ever! songs that are slow and have a lot of belts. overall it was an OK album. The album shows a linear and repetitive sound from the artist. She needs to mature soundly and learn more solid and personal work.

This album is so different from all her others, yet at the same time, it's only comforting. Listen to this during winter, or rain, with hot cocoa. With lyrics such as "you know the greatest films of all time were never made" and "I think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending. You're not my homeland anymore, so what am I defending?" This may come as a shock to swifties whoThis album is so different from all her others, yet at the same time, it's only comforting. You're not my homeland anymore, so what am I defending?" This may come as a shock to swifties who are still in the "you need to calm down" and "I forgot you existed", because this album is more alternative. But the ballads are heartbreaking and so relatable, in the most casual way. I especially love the trilogy of songs having to do with a story about seventeen years olds- August, Betty, and Cardigan all have different points of view and are so incredible. Taylor's album sounds so different, but still so her. Expand

Just when you thought the old Taylor country-folky sound aesthetic was dead. Simply a poet and a guitar is all it takes to make an album like “folklore”. Best work yet.

Nenhum de seus albuns são iguais aos outros, ela sabe como partir de gêneros e adapta-los à ela e sua voz. Folklore é sim o Melhor Album do ano até agora, Cardigan, The Last American Dynasty, Exile, Mirrorball, This is me Trying, Epiphany, Peace e Hoax são perfeitas.... Parabéns Taylor. Expand

It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
