Finally we got the Snyder cut and it is sure as **** that it ain't no masterpiece as you would've expect from a Zack Snyder film. The movie is quite good! The movie is quite good! The meh writing by Chris Terrio and CGI is still there, but the content that was removed from the crappy final film by Joss Whedon entirely makes up for it. Additionally, that four-hour feature length is somehow pretty good to see how the film opens up and ends the story and it certainly did not disappoint a bit. All I can say is, The Snyder Cut is better than BvS: Ultimate Edition hands down especially with all the content we did not expected to see and the society we did not see in our eyes. And of course, this film is made for the fans demanded by the fans and Zack Snyder delivered it just in time.… Expand

This is so much more cohesive and enjoyable than the theatrical version. The added connective scenes that were not included in the first iteration provide so much needed emotion and continuity. Granted. there are still failings, but it was without a doubt a popcorn movie you can watch and enjoy. The heroes act more like their super-hero comic origins, painful dialogue that was wedged in was removed (though there's still bits that do not work) and two of the main characters are now able to be cared about. Cyborg is amazing now that he essentially has an origin story that humanizes him. Flash is no longer just a simpering, clumsy, awkward coward that has no real value. I will certainly watch it again and if they ever release a physical 4k edition, I'll buy it.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie. Wow. To start off, I am an absolutely huge DC fan. I am not as much into marvel and so don't enjoy those movies as much. I really enjoyed Batman vs Superman, loved Man of Steel, Suicide Squad, Aquaman, and the Wonder Woman movies. However, the theatrical Justice League... was rough. It was weird feeling, I felt like Cyborg was barely in it, and Flash was kind of just a side character. It seemed to focus very heavily on only a small subset of characters (in an already small team) and it felt wrong. On top of that, the visuals and random story that had no real backstory was just bad. Even I, a DC Fanboy, couldn't like it. But this, this is something special. The backstory on Cyborg and his conflict with himself, and his father is just so great. To see his struggle, and to see a hero have to fight against what anyone else would, the struggles of life that beat us down. And the small scene where he helps a lady who had been evicted, stuff like that is just incredibly touching. Showing us that though this is a superhero, he has a heart, and is actually incredibly people centered. Then the added content with Aquaman, and his struggle with his Atlantean nature just helps set up his character so much better. It is the kind of thing we saw in the Aquaman solo movie, and helps to set him up as a reluctant part of this team much better. The Flash, wow. Just wow. Flash is one of my all time favorite superheroes. So the theatrical release really left me disappointing. But man, this is just so great. I found myself laughing out loud when he was on screen oh so much. He had that childish Barry humor that we all love. He also seemed to be a much more ready hero than the theatrical version. In this version he seems to have been fighting crime, or at least coming to grips with his powers for a bit longer, and doesn't seem as weak/foolish. Batman. Man, Batman, or more appropriately Batfleck is my favorite Batman. I'm saying it. Everything from that AMAZING suit to just his general demeanor. To see Batman turn from something of a killer in BvS to this guy who is completely changed by Superman's death, its just grand. Batman in this movie is surprisingly the Hope of the team. Superman really changed him. His sacrifice for the world showed Batman that there was hope, and that for once he would have to go out on faith alone. Batman is just perfect. Wonder Woman. What can I say? She is perfect as always. Her character is setup really well as a protector of those around her. And not only that, she really plays better with Batman in this movie because of her unending hope. Overall I felt like she was done justice. And her combat in this movie was so amazing. She really kicks some tail. Overall the little things just set this movie over the top. Things like seeing a Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and various other characters was just so perfect. It felt like this was a real universe movie with so many heroes. I really hope that WB gets the message. We don't want more garbage, we want more of this. The Snyderverse was set-up to be this amazing cinematic vision. I hope we get more.… Expand

First things first, it is drastically different from the 2017 theatrical release, and is mostly better, too. For a whopping 4 hours of runtime, the pacing keeps up well, and time flies by fast. While the Whedon/WB version looked like a clumsy awkward mess, the Snyder Cut is a well-structured, coherent, and a truly epic spectacle. While most characters used to lack backstory or motivation, now every Justice League member has a plotline and some character development (maybe less so Wonder Woman). The Flash, while still a comic relief, is much less annoying, and is equally more powerful, showcasing some really impressive abilities. The added Knightmare scene is just flawless, Batman and Joker's tense dialogue is gripping and leaves you wanting for a Batfleck movie along with a JL sequel. Junkie XL's score is also miles ahead of Danny Elfman's self-copying forgettable garbage heard in JL 2017.

Now for the critical part. In my opinion, ZSJL retains three problems from the theatrical cut.
First, the Batman is watered down, and is not the same character we saw back in Batman v Superman. While the original Batfleck was angry, focused and visceral, this one lack self-confidence (Absolutely pathetic scene where he touches hands with Diana), his signature readiness for anything (He doesn't have a plan in the tunnel?), fighting skills (In BvS he engaged a good dozen of thugs. Now he does painfully slow roundhouses, and gets his butt kicked by a random parademon), and overall credibility (His whole suicidal aspect and the obsession to do right by Superman is not enough for my suspension of disbelief to handle). The fact that Affleck, a sorry drunk at the time, looks to be in much worse shape than in BvS, also doesn't help sell his character.
Second, the villain, Steppenwolf, is underwhelming. While more menacing and better-designed than his PS2-videogame-looking original counterpart, he is still overshadowed by Darkseid, and is nothing but a filler bad guy.
Third, Superman is overpowered compared to the rest of the League. The idea of the five of them being incapable of winning over some insignificant villain, while Superman can fly in, not even flinch after a strong hit with Steppenwolf's axe, and just own him in a couple of minutes really undermines the worth of the team.
Oh, and the bonus one - the idea that a bunch of women armed with spears and swords are seriously trying to defend an important artefact from alien invaders, and that they haven't improved their arms and technology in the last 5,000 years in the least bit, is still laughable.

There are some new downsides, too. The movie sports quite a bit of flab that could be cut down entirely, like a lot of scenes with Lois, some long exposition shots, or the Martian Manhunter scenes. He doesn't play any role in the plot whatsoever, is only thrown in there as a fanservice teaser, and even ruins a scene where Martha Kent consoles Lois, as knowing that it was actually him is kind of weird and off-putting.
There are also scenes that overdo it with violence and killing, like WW butchering a few terrorists in front of the captive children's eyes, and one of them asking if she could be like her when she grows up. I don't mind superheroes killing, but this was a bit of a stretch.

A lengthy review of a lengthy movie. Despite the flaws, I still enjoyed Zack Snyder's Justice League immensely, and more so than its predecessor. Its release is a fascinating and uplifting precedent, and I congratulate both the director and the fans on this victory. The question is what happens next? #RestoreTheSnyderVerse… Expand

The story and the crucial characters getting fleshed out to a more conceivable pattern in comparison to its 2017 counterpart is infact a lending factor to its own superiority. Hollywood can learn a thing or two from here when too many cooks in the kitchen can pose a problem for studios. The auteur strokes on the contrary enriches the movie’s soul with enough humor, optimism and story beats leading very well to a climax that connects to the viewer. The length never seems to be an issue if the viewing is managed under chapters, not to take away the merit of streaming content in binge sessions as some hardcore fans might prefer to. If the DC universe needs to thrive further, they need to take elements from this movie(cul-de-sac or not) as a reference model to their success trajectory further. Or perhaps as fans call it #RestoretheSnyderverse, if that wasn’t too much of an oversimplification. An interminable campaign by fans deserves an appreciation too.… Expand

It might as well be a brand-new film. The old JL was one of my most hated films. It was so poorly paced and badly written. I'm a little shocked to say that ZSJL is an incredible superhero film. I started at 9am, only finished at 7pm. I had to take breaks in between to absorb what was happening.

I couldn't believe how much better it is from the 2017 version. More coherent, more exciting, way better character development and surprisingly, much more emotional. Following all the rumors that all the footage for Zack Snyder's nearly completed Justice League still existed after Whedon assumed control, changed the tone, and added in his own new material a movement similar to the one that got everyone'sFollowing all the rumors that all the footage for Zack Snyder's nearly completed Justice League still existed after Whedon assumed control, changed the tone, and added in his own new material a movement similar to the one that got everyone's favorite anthropomorphic hedgehog redesigned for Sonic the Hedgehog began and WB actually let Snyder release his original vision in all its uncut 4-hour glory. Spending a lot of money on a non-canon piece of fanservice that still leaves their ultimate plans for the DCEU up in the air. The results are an improvement to be sure, but this isn't likely to be a vindication for anyone other than Snyder himself and the particularly delusional members of the fanbase who are still trying to convince everyone that the 31-minutes of footage added in the "Ultimate Edition" of Batman v Superman somehow magically fixes everything wrong with that film. That's because it reveals some uncomfortable truths about just how inherently flawed Justice League was to begin with.

Make no mistake, this isn't a super long director's cut. It's an entirely different super long movie. A lot of the scenes and of course the story are the same, but are handled in distinctive ways. Things like the moodier score and Snyder's trademark visual style give scenes and moments a darker tone. Such as how the villains look like they were pulled straight off of the cover art for a metal album. The narrative has also been greatly expanded allowing every little idea room to breathe and be fully fleshed out. We can now see exactly where exactly Snyder was intending to go with these heroes, which unfortunately comes with the tradeoff of also having clearer knowledge of the mistakes he made trying to get them there as quickly as possible.

Rather than acting as a film that works on its own while hinting at the bigger threat planned for later on down the road the way the first Avengers did for Thanos, this is essentially an overly long trailer for what might have been a pretty sweet adaptation of the Injustice video game. Nowhere is that more evident than with Steppenwolf. Who, yes, is portrayed more menacingly here, but is still uninteresting on his own and only serves to constantly remind viewers that Snyder had planned to bring Darkseid to the table at some point, likely in the very next sequel. It makes you wonder why Snyder didn't just go ahead and make that movie instead. It's not like he hadn't already cut necessary corners to get this far anyways. Which is why Flash and Cyborg get introduced and established here rather than in their own solo origin flicks; something that disrupts the flow of the story.

Speaking of those two, they really exemplify how the whole team dynamic is handled a little better here as they both play a more integral role in saving the day. So now only Batman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman are useless. Something that makes the special theme music that plays every time the Amazonian so much as looks in a different direction during a fight seem really silly after a while given how little she's actually able to do against Steppenwolf. They all still come off as inconsequential when compared to Superman though who, after hours of his peers getting slapped around, defeats the villain in a hilariously anticlimatic and one-sided beatdown that makes it hard to take the other members of the League seriously going forward because of how easily outshined they were.

I think it's time we stop demonizing Whedon for his version. Yeah, his changes and additions were bad, but it's clear now that what he had to work with wasn't all that great in the first place. Most of the flaws found in his take are still present here, only marginally more tolerable. Even now without any sort of discernable destination for it to go the DCEU is probably better off without Snyder as at least WB has the potential to salvage things and with the necessary groundwork he was either uninterested or unwilling to lay. Because while his Justice League is a better movie, it's still not a good movie. Oh, and Jared Leto's Joker is still the worst thing ever.… Expand

Zak Snyder's Justice League is a vast improvement on the original (of which I gave a 5 out of 10). The pros: The story, character development and equal screen-time to all the heroes. Steppenwolf's master plan is also far superior and thoug this film will potentially not have a sequel, it is open ended enough to make fans excited.

The cons: The runtime could have been trimmed by 20 minutes or so, as there are far too many slow scenes involving a folk song (I really don't need to see Lois get a slo-mo Starbucks order). The 4:3 aspect ratio at times can be strange at time as it was designed for IMAX, but as most people will be watching from home TVs the square viewing is a bit jarring. Overall a much better film (that unfortunately probably would have met with as much criticism if not for the original). Zak Snyder always wants to be epic, studios just try to hard to reign him in.… Expand

After Joss Whedon's nonsense, this movie was like medicine. Epic story. Zack Snyder should continue to shape the DCEU. And Snyder should be consulted in stories like Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Sin duda alguna una película altamente recomendada para disfrutarlo en casa y durante 4 horas continuas. No se recomienda a menores de edad que visualicen esta película debido a su altos contenido violento, referencias sexuales, y derramamiento de sangre, también hay que mencionar que los villanos si intimidan en esta versión.… Expand

Tratando a todos y cada uno de sus personajes como tiene que ser, aunque muchos se quejen del aspect ratio, siendo este para pantallas IMAX esta pensado con un propósito, el que en las pantallas de cine convencionales nuestros heroes se ven siempre mucho mas pequeños en un paisaje muy grande, haciendo que en el formato que Snyder eligió estos se vean mas grandes y resalten como los heroes y dioses que son al igual que un panel de comic. La cinematografia es excepcional siendo cada toma una imagen que quisieras guardar para usarla de fondo de pantalla, los efectos visuales estan muy bien hechos a pesar de que se tenia un presupuesto mucho más limitado que la película de Joss Whedon en 2017. I just watched The Snyder Cut and damn was it good. I can’t believe the junk we was given back 2017. Zack Snyder's Justice League is a slow, tiring and tedious film, due to the exaggerated development of Victor Stone (Ray Fisher) and because the director, in addition to working on the development of all the characters, their characteristics, story and motivations, preferred to make lots of long and useless scenes. To extend the film even further, he tries to have an adult tone, and ends up with free violence, unnecessary dialogue and swear words. Also, the scenes are mostly useless, as the director puts HORRIBLE special effects, like slow motion, on everything. This movie is a disgrace to the genre.… Expand

Cyborg is the one that benefits from that movie. The FX are also a good evolution. Steffenwolf is great to look at, and his armour is simply spectacular. The music is finally done by JunkieXXL, and it's one of the best part in the Cut. I like the episodes but the length made me struggle a bit. I didn't like the 4:3 format. I though it was a totally useless gimmick. The addition to the villains enrich the main villain story. The epilogue is good but we all know that those loose paths will never see the light of days. I give this movie a fair 75%. Which is by any means, a vastly superior product that Warner released in the first place.… Expand

It defied my lowered expectations. I have a rating already but when I saw that Flash scene at the end, +1. It's better. It got a lighter tone and it should be. I hope Warner Brothers give Zach Snyder the chance to complete his trilogy.

There was even a surprise or two that got me really excited.

Просто удивительно фильм полностью перемонтирован. Скажу страшное, он мне понравился даже больше последних "Мстителей". Конечно балл снял за то, что некоторые, понравившиеся лично мне, фрагменты из фильма 2017 года не вошли в фильм 2021. Ещё мне категорически не понравился формат фильма. Почему 4:3, зачем? Понимаю может это дань какому нибудь IMAX или ещё чему, хз. Но фильм будут смотреть в первую очередь дома на телеках 16:9, а может и более широком формате и всё это 4к просто теряет смысл.
Но если последние два абзаца не критичны, фильм явно удался! Концовка вообще улёт и просто кричит, просто требует продолжения! Выйдет думаю вряд ли, но ждать буду.

Just Good, nothing new, the text is still bad and the extra scenes we can see a cleary lack of direction from the Director to the actors, Dialogues are bad. Add that 1h 9f slow camera and we have a 4hour film.
