Horrible movie, it literally was almost like the first one but just 2 hours longer. The use of color is used as if a brooding child had his way. The music was trying so hard to shoe horn in symbolism while failing utterly at being subtle. Almost every new scene screams of rushed cgi. This is by far my newest favorite movie to **** on. What a glorious mess. Was it better than the original? No, but it did make a few of the fight scenes better. Also.... the reach around scene.... truly comedic gold. Sadly I am laughing at the movie, not with it. Also, robot kid wins the moody brooding batman award. That isn't good character writing, its just annoying. The whole plot line is 'fleshed out' more this time around, by just extending the otherwise obvious absentee father troupe. So predictable… Expand

The Flash and Cyborg are surprise stand outs.

Joker and Batman are extreme low points and neither were convincingly written or portrayed. The tone, characterization, and score are all over the place. Similar to BvS there are random slow scenes inserted in otherwise dramatic moments that completely undercut the pacing.… Expand

It is so bad. Nothing makes sense. The choreographies in the action scenes are embarrassing, each physical decision made by the characters has the sole purpose of generating a cool shot in slow motion.

I really did not like this. It was much better than Batman vs Superman, but 4 hours was way too long and it just felt like it was droning on. Sure, characters got more exposure.... but most competent directors could do that in 2 hours. HopingI really did not like this. Zack has done it again, by which I mean forced me into a time loop where i am doomed to relive the same day I watched this film. With each loop, I wonders I am projecting the film or if the film is projecting me? i watch through my eyeballs through the television, then watch myself watching through the television. There are two me'sh looking back at the other, shrinking the aspect ratio until I am old. and squinting on the beach. Every day I try to find and fix my mistake, but I have spent a lifetime here in this dimension watching this film....… Expand

Movie just plain sucks, it's no surprise it's 4 hours long with how little respect it has with the viewers time, with all the garbage slow motion, unnecesary closeups of mundane objects, wierd musical hero introductions, and tell don't showMovie just plain sucks, it's no surprise it's 4 hours long with how little respect it has with the viewers time, with all the garbage slow motion, unnecesary closeups of mundane objects, wierd musical hero introductions, and tell don't show dialogue I stopped at the two hour mark because I was so bored that barely anything happened, and the only thing to actually happen was this amazon vs Steppenwolf fight that's extremely similar to the original movie, and some olympic gods vs Darkseid mumbo jumbo. I am definitley not planning on seeing the rest of the movie.

Also, special mention the part where a little girl asks Wonder Woman if she can be like her, and she says something like, you can be whatever you want was so cringe and dumb, I get the cringe message they were trying to send but come on, of course you can't you dumb girl, she was born with damn super powers. It was so stupid

Loved it start to finish, so glad he was given the opportunity to finish it for us. It’s bit saddening to see just how much Joss & Warner’s butchered it first time out. I am so glad I finally got to see the director's true vision. Of course that vision was a lot of crap, but I still relish the opportunity. Cyborg being given the spotlight in the film was a good choice.

Cons: Writers got fatigued 2/3 in, cringe-worthy phoned-in "banter," plenty of bad CGI for balance - especially in action shots involving super-speed dashes), militaristic characterization of heroes and plot at odds with their solo movies, bad emphasis on macguffins, in-movie acceptance of truly weird plot points (not nearly enough lampshading), flabby sequences could have used some trimming, some distracting needledrops, fan service at all-time high

All in all, I wasn't expecting a perfect movie, and what I got was slightly worse than I expected it would be, but it was weirdly fascinating and perversely self-indulgent, which I totally dig… Expand

First it illustrates the unequivocal truth that Joss Whedon is and has always been a talentless hack who has often fell backwards into something good on rare occasion.

This cut does proper justice to the characters and the story it sets out to convey. It is not perfect and it requires its own standard of "comic book movie" good, but for a contemporary comic book movie this cut is on par with Joker, Logan, Deadpool, The Dark Knight and the original Blade as Good comic book films out of the absolute scrap heap Whedon left of the film.

The film also illustrates the level of bias and worship that fans and the industry have for Disney. The original cut was bad but it was never terrible. Fans eviscerated it as if it were The Room. All while Disney super hero tent pole films are bland, uninspired, that lull you to sleep with how "awesome" they are just before they break into a classic Disney song and dance routine. OK that last bit is being facetious but honestly, give it another 5-10 years max before it becomes standard. But I digress. Fans rampaged over the original cut and it wasnt because it was bad so much as it was because it wasnt Disney.

Granted the original cut did a poor job overall, this cut shows just how good and truly epic these types of films can be. You can tell the overall product was a labor of love that was basically denied and delayed due to a tragedy. Its so good that honestly it made the limp wristed Whedon butchery so forgettable that outside of about 2-3 scenes it was like watching a whole new film

Speaking of tragedy it now looks as if there is the potential for this to ultimately be a take of greek tragedy proportions. With this cut being so good and setting up so much the question is can and will WB actually work to reunite this cast and make the proper followup film that now NEEDS to be made.

Dont get me wrong, the film has its flaws. A sizable lull in the middle being the most glaring but tbh with a run time of nearly 4 hours how could there not be a lull? Overall the pacing tends to be good but some of the exposition gets a bit long winded and could use a smidgen of refinement.Yet I would gladly sit through sporadically placed redundant lines of dialogue for the overall product we got. Also one other minor complaint... The musical cue for Wonder Woman needs to stop. I have no problem with character thematic movements but that track is quickly getting annoying with how they use it seemingly every single time she goes into fight mode out of all the movies she is in. (also Gadot is still the worst casting choice in comic book movie history) Change it up, Limit this one to only her most "epic" scene or at the very least change up the arrangement to provide some variance.

It takes some effort but its well worth the watch. Honestly I would suggest digesting the film in 3 sittings to help with that lull at the 2 hour mark. Makes it much easier to swallow this glut of content.

Definitely the most enjoyable thing released so far in 2021. Worth your time and money. This one film on its own is better than all the Avengers films assembled.… Expand

It is a long movie, but certainly doesn't feel like 4 hours. At most a 3 hour movie, even my mom stayed up with me to watch it.

The sound track is very good, my only gripe is that there is one rock song that is quite jarring to go into and out. But overall, very good.

The character, vilians and protagonist alike, are so much better and have actual purpose and emotion.

The plot actually makes sense, it's not just Stepenwolf yelling "MOTHER!", there is actual motivation and stakes in the movie.

The fight scenes are amazing, they really show the power of these characters and its all choreographed really well. It is absolutely worth a watch, if you are one of the people that just can't sit through no matter what, it's broken into parts. If you stop at the end of part 4 beggining of part 5, that's ~2H20min inot the movie and provides a good break point.… Expand

I cannot believe this was supposed to be released way back in 2017 and they chose not to. This movie is better than Whedon's 2017 version in every single aspect. EVERY SINGLE ASPECT. Every character is way more fleshed out and you canI cannot believe this was supposed to be released way back in 2017 and they chose not to. This movie is better than Whedon's 2017 version in every single aspect. EVERY SINGLE ASPECT. Every character is way more fleshed out and you can understand they're motives and why they do the things they do in this movie. This movie is surprisingly lighter in tone, much more lighter than I expected. Steppenwolf, who was so bad in the 2017 version, is so much better in ZSJL. You can understand his motives, why he's on Earth, how he came to Earth and his motives that drive him forward. Even Darkseid, who I thought would just be a small cameo, his threat looms over the movie throughout. The sad thing is, this movie will currently be compared to a completely inferior film for quite sometime since there will be a lot of people who watched both versions. It is sometimes jarring to remember how it went in the 2017 version and how it goes in ZSJL. Cyborg's entire arc is different. Joss Whedon reshot Cyborg the most, I think every single scene except maybe one. Ray Fisher did a great job and you care for Cyborg and Victor Stone. The movie actually depends on Cyborg since he drives the plot. People were a bit worried about the CGI, but man, the CGI is done so well, for Cyborg, Steppenwolf, Darkseid etc. There might be a few scenes here and there that might look a bit odd due to the green screen, but that happens usually in all big block buster superhero movies. Not as egregious as the Black Panther final fight, or the floating heads of War Machine and Banner/Hulk Buster. Every single action sequence is longer and makes so much sense with what everyone does. Every character has a shining moment. Even though it was 4 hours long, it went by so quick for me. You just want to keep watching even though the movie has 6 chapters and an Epilogue. The pacing is very well done that you never look at the time or how much time is left in the movie. Even the slow moments keep you wanting to watch it, and it is mixed well with the faster paced action moments. By the time the credits started to roll, I just wanted so much more. I want them to make more movies that continue this story. Some minor things I can complain about is some music choices during some scenes. The music didn't match with some of the scenes and wished it was done a bit better. The overall music score is better, and the Justice League theme is so catchy. Zack Snyder could have easily made this a 3 hour version and released it in 2017. I cannot believe that WB decided to force the 2 hour mandate on him. I cannot believe the decisions that WB made. They butchered this movie and the DCEU connected universe by the decisions they made in 2017. I really hope that they let Zack Snyder continue this story, because it was leading to something so interesting and good.… Expand

I really did not like this. It was much better than Batman vs Superman, but 4 hours was way too long and it just felt like it was droning on. Sure, characters got more exposure.... but most competent directors could do that in 2 hours. HopingI really did not like this. This was really frustrating. One the one hand, it's a massive improvement over the theatrical cut. On the other hand, that's not saying much. On the other hand, that's not saying much. I've seen some people say that it's a completely different movie, but after watching it, I have to disagree. The Snyder Cut is still basically the same movie.

There's a lot to like. The added scenes make some of the events that happen make more sense, the effects are a little better, most of the bad jokes are gone, Cyborg gets a lot more to do, and yes, it is a million times better than the other cut.

However, a lot of the things that I disliked in the original are still here. Apart from Cyborg, most of the characters are still pretty bland, Steppenwolf is still very uninteresting, the action is still forgettable and I'm just not emotionally engaged enough.

There's a lot added to the movie, but a lot of it seems like it's only there to set up movies that may never even happen.

Also, there's a choir singing that plays whenever Wonder Woman shows up and I hated it.

In the end, I'm really glad that Zack Snyder got to finally make the movie he wanted. I believe all filmmakers should be able to make their movies the way they want to make them. But this movie is still just Justice League but longer. It's an improvement, but being better than Justice League (2017) isn't a huge accomplishmet. Disappointing.… Expand

Did Zack Snyder reign in his worst tendencies? No. It's a bloated 4 hours with too much slow mo and a ridiculous aspect ratio for home release and an aversion to color that is comically absurd. Snyder films also have this whole pretentious angle to them where you can feel him really hamfistedly trying to make points about big ideas or issues through his superhero films. It's fine to make a point. It can be great. Captain America Civil War and James Bond Skyfall were two films that did an amazing job of being blockbusters that dealt with deeper themes. Those were good fun films too. Snyder just doesn't really seem to understand how to have fun with these characters and fails to really let any of them have a personality. That makes his pretentious statements about stuff cringey because they don't make sense. If you love his stuff? Sure, you'll love this. If you don't? You will probably like this better than the original but you're not going to watch it several times a year like you might with, say, The Dark Knight because it's just missing humanity. It makes sense that Snyder made Cyborg the main character: he's gotta be a robot because he just doesn't understand humans.… Expand

Zack Snyder's Justice League is a long, confusing and meandering fanfest that introduces more problems than it fixes. We are given more context for the backstories of characters, but they lack the emotional weight that should make us care about the characters. The movie is only dark in the sense that the colour palette mostly consists of blacks and Grey's. Steer away unless you're a die-hard Snyder fan.… Expand

I have no words for this film than to thank Zack Snyder for his vision on the justice league and providing justice for fans of Dc. It improved on the faults of the previous film. It improved on the faults of the previous film. What I personally like about the film is that it shows the team actually working together and that all of the hero's need each other to succeed. The character development was on point especially for cyborg and the flash, it made you really feel for these characters and doesn't make them seem one dimensional. I will also appreciate that they used the r rating well, with shocking gore you'd rarely see in a casual marvel film. The story really improves on connecting the dots with many plot holes the 2017 film provided. There is more lore and backstories that doesn't seem half baked and forced upon the viewer.… Expand

For example, Bruce Wayne's post-credit nightmare scene feels like a set-up for a movie we most likely will never see due to Zack Snyder's complicated relationship with Warner Bros. In fact, most of the movie feels like a prequel to a much better movie. However, one thing Zack Snyder's Justice League improves is the characters, mainly Cyborg. Cyborg was an almost insignificant character in the theatrical release of Justice League, but in Zack Snyder's cut Cyborg becomes the emotional core of the movie. This movie's focus on characters is refreshing to see and is really the best part of this movie. However, decent characters can't make up for the mountain of mediocrity that this movie truly is.… Expand
