its like cheaper by the dozen+the happening. goofy family and nothing happening for 2 hours... there are no coherent thoughts or themes or anything remotely interesting about this movie. its just a random mishmash of stuff. not sure whatits like cheaper by the dozen+the happening. goofy family and nothing happening for 2 hours... there are no coherent thoughts or themes or anything remotely interesting about this movie. its just a random mishmash of stuff. not sure what genre it is. i dont know anybodys name. not sure what the story's about. idk how they got don cheadle and adam driver to do this movie. not sure why its #2 on netflix. I don't usually write reviews but this movie sucked so much i had to go out of my way to save others.

I didn't read the book so I don't care if it's accurate or not. What I do care about is that the movie tries very hard at tackling some serious social issues but ultimately succeeds only in one thing... Being boring. I didn't find any of the characters appealing enough to even remotely care about them and their troubles. The overall message of the movie seems shallow and unoriginal at best. The technical side of the production is pretty good and I have nothing against the actors and such... But for anyone with more than a few brain cells alive it's going to be a repetitive snoozefest with an overplayed message about capitalism, existential fear and such. So yeah, the movie tries hard to be a lot of things but fails miserably.… Expand

It's actually kind of funny how bad this movie is. A pretentious bowl of dialog stew that the actors try to act their way out of while leaving the audience to wonder "What does any of this mean?" The kids are of course the geniuses - aIt's actually kind of funny how bad this movie is. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This has to be one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It’s like someone gave a bunch of theater kids way too much money. The dialog and monologues are delivered in such a self indulgently pretentious manner. I get that it’s supposed to be surreal, and usually I like those kind of “bits” but it was so far up its own … fill in the blank. It starts off making you think it’s a disaster movie, which turns out to be a giant McGuffin. This should have been a Broadway play, not a movie.… Expand

There are VERY few movies that actually make me physically ill. In fact, two of them are Adam Driver movies. This one gave me a really nauseous feeling. Its so very bad. Yikes.
