Gorr was no butcher, but the writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson certainly is. It seems co-writer and director Taika Waititi was unable to damage control her awful writing sufficiently.

It takes a special kind of inept to manage to make an encounter with a cosmic entity feel completely unremarkable. Gorr felt like he had no weight. Zeus was a joke. A pair of celestials just hanging out? The only silver lining I can glean from this is the hope that this was a career destroying blunder so that we may be spared further butchery.… Expand

This movie broke my heart. Everything amazing thing Taiki did in Ragnarok was ruined in this movie. There is nothing to love from this film. They ruined Thor in this movie. Making Thor a clown, childish reverts his entire arc up to this point. His whole arc revolve about maturing to be a good king. This was a weird movie. It forces comedy and it works....sometimes, but an hour in you are like enough already. Just get on with it. Crowe was good, but Waititi just got too full of himself and made into a slapstick disaster.

I love Marvel movies but this one missed the mark by a mile. Only good part was the soundtrack. Two great Thor comic stories turned into the dumbest least funny movie Marvel has made. Thor 2 seems Oscar worthy by comparison and it was bad.

Phase 4 has still yet to prove why it exists. Thor: Love and Thunder is the worst Thor movie. It’s the worst MCU movie. Congratulations Black Widow! You’re no longer the worst! For starters, the entire movie plays like an SNL skit - too long and trying too hard to be funny. It actually started of pretty good. Gorr losing his daughter is a compelling motivation and the scene of him burring her was heartbreaking. Followed up by the scene of him meeting his god only to be dismissed was perfect. The guardians with Thor, although a bit too silly was still engaging but after this, I don’t have anything positive to say.… Expand

Literally couldn't stop my eyes from rolling. MCU is officially dead. The movie is a joke. Characters behave nothing like in the other movies and I couldn't care less about Jane and her relationship. This is the absolutely the worst movie. I am starting to doubt my IQ I used to enjoy all Marvels. Taika Waititi said he wanted to make a movie to piss off fans and he really did. He could have used Jim Carrey instead of Chris Hemsworth since the film is full of Dumb & Dumber-level jokes (including grimaces).

They put in a lot of good actors (Natalie Portman, Russell Crowe, Christian Bale) and they just didn't exploit any of them. On Russell Crowe's part, amazingly, they made him do a little dance wearing a skirt. And one of the deleted scenes from the movie was Gorr The **** God Butcher doing a dance.
The last scene worthy of Thor was in Infinity War.
Marvel has become complacent with the huge success of pre-End Game movies and has started to deliver any **** as audiences watch by osmosis simply wanting to be inside the next amazing cycle.… Expand

It's so simple. You have to be a extremely bad writer/director/producer to make something so great so bad. It's also extremely unethical to take someone's life's work and change the source material with such disrespect. Then, just to make everything so much worse, you add on top of that fan baiting. Fan Baiting is done on purpose to not only stir up controversy for publicity but also serves as a barrier to real criticism and ensures that the show will succeed because if anyone has a different opinion, they will just be labeled as a "racist/sexist/transphobe/etc." and their opinion is ignored. It's a method to make everyone think you're virtuous when really you're just a horrible person spreading hate with anyone who has a different opinion than your own. You act like you're fighting fascism by spreading and using fascism. It's hypocrisy in action.… Expand
