(Mighty Thor as a name sucks, its just the dudes name, not a mantle). easily the best part of the movie was Christian bale as Gorr the god butcher, without going into spoilers, his story is amazing, his character is menacing and steals every scene he's in, his motivations make sense, and the prologue at the begining of the movie with him in it is great.
my main issue with the movie is its jarring changes between the funny scenes and the gorr scenes, and the other issues that come with the movies rather short runtime. i feel the transitions of feel would have been fixed with something like a mere 3 minutes more of runtime. i feel that the jane foster plotline could have been at least a little more fleshed out instead of dumped into 2 minutes at act 3. tessa thompson's valkarie was underused as well, and an already great scene at the beginning of act 3 would have been much better if she was given even a scene of her own. Gorr also should have just had more scenes, would have loved to see him more

overall, a great movie, best mcu project of phase 4 (fight me), though it could have been an amazing movie if its runtime were bumped up a bit

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great addition to the mcu, it aint perfect, but is is wildly entertaining (sometimes to much humour). Christian Bales performance really steals the show, but i wished they would have kept him on for more movies in the mcu. If you like the style from Thor Ragnarok, you will most likely enjoy this one too. Expand

Despite the fact that the film was supposed to be a comedy because of how the character has been treated lately turning him into a clown, it has drama, action and epicness... And a lot of love. The villain is well-constructed, his origin-to-end story arc is very good, though I'm sure comic book lovers will say he sucks. The scene with the empowered children was a perfect touch. Using Zeus for the issue of inclusion and progressivism was funny, not forced at all; and the thing about Korg makes sense because he's just rocks. The Jane Fonda arc... I mean, Jodie Foster... I mean, Jane Foster and what she did at the end was fine, and the scene with Thor was very emotional and deep. Taika Waititi definitely convinced me this time, he gave us a good installment.

The mid-credit scene was very interesting, let's see what happens with Thor's future, and the post-credit scene was satisfactory.

This is a perfect "Thor" Movie - Read your comic books people
[no spoilers] More proof “Critics” are no longer the arbiters of quality just harbingers of their own idiotic ideals of what their hubris thinks the movie should have been. This film is one incredible entertaining cinematic adventure. #nevertrustacritic

Tl;dr - it’s funny, well told and touching, leave your expectations or preconceived feelings at home as it will entertain you in different ways to the first. Enjoy the most pure Thor story experience you’ll find ever. Must watch. From the source material and quality of story telling this is possibly the best tale of Thor that has ever existed. Thematically, tonally, comically, and the eccentricity are Thor at his best. Waititi as a writer and director taking his second stab, no only did the source material and story justice, but made a collective work of cinematic entertainment that was just exceptional. Waititi’s uncanny ability to make the 6 y/o me say “that’s soooo cooool” is on full display for you to have an absolute blast. This epic was really a comedy at heart and had its harder hitting moments too. Come with no expectation and you’ll have a blast!

To the nay sayers - “you brought your expectations didn’t you?” Tut tut. Thinking back, to all the ground breaking earth shattering first moments that the previous film had for things that had never been done. If you come back to this film expecting the same thing, you may not understand how when you break Thor’s hammer if you do it again, it’s not going to affect you the same way. For Waititi to come back after shattering all conventions in the previous film and to find new ways to delight and inspire is incredible. This film will not give you the same feeling because the conventions have been shattered, just as the next spider man won’t if they bring Toby and Andrew back. Any one with those expectations I say leave it at home with any other unreasonable expectation that you may have. For people with tone whiplash? Are you kidding me? How long does someone need to telegraphy a moment for you to ease into it? Should the play a 15minute number to get you into the mood or should the just get down the the business of telling the story? For anyone who believes it’s over the top, CLEARLY doesn’t know Thor comics or understand the Marvel Universe. This is par for the course! If you look at this film objectively it is extraordinarily well told in its beats, the moments it creates, and the depth of journey it takes you on.

The MCU is back before us with more content that we’ve been clamoring for. This movie follows Thor as he enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Bestie Korg and ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster, to fight Gorr the God Butcher, who intends to make all of the gods extinct.

You know with these MCU movies we have to talk about the storyline and the bigger picture. First, a newbie could definitely just watch this movie and not be completely lost about what’s going on. As Korg narrates at key points in the movie, he’s able to bring us all up to speed. Secondly, I’m no comic book expert but to me this movie doesn’t move the universe along that much if at all, which is good. I feel everyone is too wrapped up in how it plays into the phases and multiverse and blah blah blah, which just causes people to not be immersed in and entertained by the product in front of them (*cough cough* alluding to what people did to the Dr. Strange movie but no one asked me, so I’ll move on). Lastly, this movie is full of heart. Thor, Jane, and Gorr will pull on your heartstrings throughout in unexpected ways. While some of their plot points weren’t fully fleshed out, I recognize that it’s hard to make these movies feel important after the emotional depth in Endgame. Nevertheless, Taika’s direction and the writing definitely tried their best to fill the movie with heart and humor. Let’s move on to the cast.

Christian Bale does his thing as Gorr. He’s so creepy in this. Bale has a way of slithering across the screen and being menacing even though he’s not necessarily physically imposing. Marvel could’ve taken this to the next level in dastardliness, but it seems like the MCU is building to an overarching Big Bad and don’t yet want to give us that Thanos-like figure. Who knows? We may have seen that Big Bad already, but the MCU hasn’t truly featured them yet. Anyway! Thor, on the other hand, while goofy and fun, campy, and still beastly, he does come off a bit too corny. And, it’s hard to say because some of the exact same moments are definitely going to be moments that people enjoy. The same goes for Korg as well. Taika does a great job voicing Korg, but at times it’s a bit much or unnecessary. The fact that he narrates a lot of the movie could be a turn off to viewers. Korg is great in small pebbles but the whole rock mound gets a bit annoying. Our friend, Jane Foster can be annoying too but her bash head Thor-ness is definitely fun to watch. Marvel definitely found a way to make Jane come into her own and not just as a Thor carbon copy, which I enjoyed. I wish I could say the same for Valkyrie. They didn’t really let my girl Tessa really shine in this movie. After Ragnarok, I think we wanted that boss chick featured again. Unfortunately, she was more of a bell and whistle than a co-star. Those are the people you come to see but there are a bunch of small characters that either melt your heart, annoy you a bit, make you laugh, or want to see more of. Srangely that mixture, actually gives a movie life. It’s just Marvel doing Marvel things making you want more.

Long story short, Thor: Love and Thunder while maybe not Ragnarok doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Marvel, Taika and Kevin Feige just continue a strong MCU/Thor Franchise. This movie will make you laugh, hold on to your seat, awe at the action, suck back thug tears and more. Thor gets a bit corny but not enough to make me say don’t see Bale’s creepy Gorr the God Butcher. Love and Thunder will make loud noise in the theaters so grab that big box of fresh popcorn and enjoy.

I think part of the issue is that you have to have expectations that are appropriate to the movie you are going to see. If you're a critic then sure... you can compare this to a Mona Lisa visual novel... but its a Marvel movie. They have fully established a set of expectations for their movies in general. If you don't like these comedy driven hero movies why would you subject yourself to 1.75 hours of them? Expand

I’ve read a lot of reviews and it looks like many either love or hate it. There are high stakes here, excellent acting and a villain very complex and compelling for the MCU, so I think it might just come down to what you’re in the mood for whether or not you’ll find any enjoyment watching it. After the last two Marvel movie entries, Spider Man and Doctor Strange, I think some movie goers where looking for something to continue the more serious tone the MCU has had lately - especially here with the heavy material that is being tackled in Love and Thunder. I enjoy the kind of humor Tika brings and I really love how well the MCU Thor character has been developed. I found the more irreverent tone and the jokes to be really refreshing. The deep loss that is at the center of all that is driving the plot forward would have been too much for me personally without the comedy. I really loved this movie and was moved many times from laughter to tears. I also really liked how the film it self seems to be referencing how the Thor movies are becoming more “worthy.” I think Marvel fans, especially people who read the comics, will really like this. Just a heads up - the baddy might be a little much for some of the younger kids, but there is a very silly yet highly empowering moment near the end of the movie for those still a bit scared of the dark. If they can stick it out some might draw inspiration from how kids make their way out of their situation. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I appreciated the story development of how love and life prevail over hate and revenge. At the end, I found the feelings Gorr had for his daughter touching (even though their relationship wasn't highly developed in the movie). A lot of movies fall flat when they try to do sentimental scenes, but for me, Thor: L&T worked. I came in with low expectations because I didn't like how the trailers looked, but I enjoyed this movie. Not as much as Ragnorok though. Expand

Best "super-absurd hero" movie, ever!

Before the Marvel title section, this movie is already delivering absurdist jokes ambiance which is much similar to the prequel, Thor: Ragnarok (2017). If you have seen that movie, yeah, overall, that's a glimpse of this movie. My POV, I'm lovin' it haha... However, this movie's absurdism is really unexpected, and somehow Taika Waititi as Director proves his skill to keep it relevant or up-to-date with our current situation. Always delivers fresh jokes, unorthodox, authentic, and related to audiences.

This movie plot is really about "love" and "thunder". Self-crisis, emptiness, and anger about love and thunder. Why thunder? That's the secret lol. The pros are audiences are directed to focus on those movie plots and absurd jokes. Very entertaining and funny coz absurdism always acts as if anything is meaningless. Magnificent story, jokes, moral value, narration, and visuals, especially the music - the most unexpected and vivid marketing. SORRY, NO SPOILER. Besides that, it seems Thor gonna be the next romantic superhero besides of Spider-Man. Romantic, mightiest, funny, and emotional are perfect descriptions of Thor's persona in the future.

The cons are too many jokes create not such a romantic love ambiance, not really about the mightiest superhero or classical "power thing", and it's really promoting the music - too many but I'm lovin' it! Lol. Lastly, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) isn't affiliated and gave important things about Marvel Cinematic Extended Universe (MCEU). This is only focusing on Thor.

BUT, it's really worth watching at the cinema! "Comedy" is something that we really need to relieve these particular chaotic moments and "superhero" is something that we need to feel energized, hopeful and not feelin' FOMO!? RN, I'm really into Taika Waititi movies coz this movie's absurdism is really beyond my imagination. Thor? Always be my most fav's Avengers.

This movie does feel like a parody at times, and it's proof positive that there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Christian Bale was absolutely amazing as Gorr. He lended the film gravitas that's lacking pretty much everywhere else. Natalie Portman also does a great job as the Mighty Thor but the seriousness of her story gets sidelined for conventional material that makes her story lack any emotional punch outside of the superficial. Overall, it does what it needs to as far as entertainment is concerned, but the real disappointment is that it could've done so much more (outside of jokes) and been a much more elevated movie. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is not terrible in the slightest but it’s not top tier MCU. Visually this movie was great, soundtrack was awesome & the action sequences were pretty nice. But now to complain. My first issue with this film was that there were too many jokes and comedic moments in scenes I felt should have been taken more seriously, for example, the Lady Sif scene. I love the new Thor atmosphere with these jokes and such but I like it to an extent when it’s mixed with serious acting behind it. Second issue was the love triangle with the hammer. It’s funny the first time but after awhile it’s old, just like that screaming Goats. Last issue I had despite his incredible acting, was Gorr’s reasoning for why he was doing all of this. I felt he should have been committed to killing Gods for being arrogant & egotistical rather than doing all that plus for his daughter. I also had a slight issue that a guy named the “GOD BUTCHER” didn’t kill any gods on screen or any main characters. It’s enjoyable for a fast paced comedy action MCU film but I’d only rewatch it for a MCU movie marathon. Expand

But I really enjoyed the journey that Taika Waititi provides in this film. I thought the villain was very good, but as always, Marvel doesn't take advantage of its antagonists, with the exception of Loki and Thanos.

One point is that disney urgently needs to improve the cgi of its movies. And don't leave it all to the new Avatar

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was the new Thor movie for the lackluster Phase 4 of the MCU, and going into this one I was incredibly hyped for it. There was so much in the trailers that hooked me in, like Christian Bale as Gorr The God Butcher, Zeus and more Gods are in the movie, and then I watched the movie, and I thought it was just good. This is definitely a shorter Marvel movie, it's only at 2 Hours long. The plot kind of **** over the trailers, as the Guardians of the Galaxy were featured heavily in the trailer and are only there for like fifteen minutes or ten minutes. The main point of this film is Thor, Jane Foster, Valkyrie, and Korg going on an adventure to the Shadow World to save Asgardian kids from Gorr. Bale as Gorr is...AMAZING. Definitely the highlight of this film for sure, as I love his entire storyline. The fight scenes are pretty rare (there's only like four of them), but I like all of them. The romance between Thor and Jane is really good, and it can be funny at times as well. Gorr ends up nearly killing Valkyrie and taking Stormbreaker, which he needs to reach Eternity to wish to kill all Gods. He makes it to Eternity for one huge fight scene where the Asgardian kids (one is Heimdall's kid) get Thor's powers and kick ass. And then the best part of the movie is Gorr turning good and dying, wishing for his dead daughter to come back, and Jane dies, the kid now being Thor's daughter. A bit of a depressing, but sweet ending. In other words I enjoyed the story, and the soundtrack backs up so many scenes, mostly Hair Metal music and I love it, with the actual soundtrack kicking ass. Overall a pretty good Marvel movie that will generate some mixed reviews, but I think it's a good sign for Phase 4 movies. Expand

This is a hard film to review. I’m not sure what it is about Thor L&T but I just didn’t find it that funny. I felt like they tried so hard to push jokes out and they often didn’t land with me. I think there were too many jokes right at the start, it became obvious that the dialogue only served for humour reasons and because that failed to land with me it took away any storytelling or narrative immersion. The film is still entertaining and it definitely gets better by the second act, even the comedy improves once ‘Jane’ is introduced into the story alongside Thor. There are great action scenes and the film definitely doesn’t feel too long. I think it’s the perfect length. The villain is the best part of the movie, Christian Bale portrays his character extremely well. I will say, it felt very clear that Natalie Portman had only been contracted for one marvel movie. Immediately we are met with her character in a terminal situation which implies she won’t be returning after the movie concludes. Maybe they could’ve made it a little more subtle.

Overall, this movie is alright. It’s funny at times and has enough action to remain entertaining and compelling, with some neat cinematography here and there, but not the greatest marvel movie I’ve ever seen.

Lately, Marvel movies haven't been reaching the quality they once did, so I wasn't expecting anything special, and that's probably why I'm not disappointed in the finale. It went by pleasantly quickly because there was a lot of action, which I thought was pretty epic in places, but there's just one catch. Story-wise, it's not such a joy anymore. There is a lot of humour. A lot. That's a classic with Marvel movies, but here there's perhaps I would say a little more of it. I generally don't like a lot of jokes in superhero movies. I prefer more serious superhero ventures, like Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, but that's beside the point. There were several times in the story where one character was speaking to tell the story and that bothered me. I don't like it much and rarely like it, but sometimes it's cool, but here I didn't like it. Then as I mentioned the humor is really over the top here, which wasn't my cup of tea either. I don't want to spoil, but story-wise it wasn't a total win either. Well it was saved for me by the aforementioned action, which I enjoyed and which Marvel can and probably always will, except for Eternals. That was pretty damn weak in my opinion and Thor: Love Like Thunder is still fine in comparison. So, for me, a good movie that although I would recommend to Thor fans, I might not after all because it gets quite the hate. It's hard to say. My friends were really disappointed with this movie. I'm satisfied though and for me it was fine. Expand

The fact is the film's strength / weaknesses have always been there: its' strange mix of irreverent humor and pathos have always been Waititi's tone in Ragnarok. Kudos of course its new interpretation of Thor, a direction that Hemsworth has championed since Ragnarok. It has made the character more of a comedic relief and hence, he is sidelined in his own movie, with other characters doing the heavy, dramatic lifting on his behalf. First off, Christian Bale is terrific in this. I don't think I've seen him chew up this much scenery since "The Fighter." There's also a set piece involving his character midway through the movie that I think really fires on all creative cylinders (visuals, choreography, performances, etc.) I only wish the rest of the film maintained the feeling of that sequence. "Love And Thunder" finds the MCU at its most tonally confused since "Iron Man 3," limping by on some truly weak character work within the titular protagonist. We're constantly told that Thor's issue is that he keeps everyone "at an arm's length" and that he's unwilling to attach to others. I find this pretty rich, considering the fact that Thor has always maintained an air of emotional availability to me. Honestly, I'd say he's probably one of the top three Avengers I'd want to hang out at a bar with. The starting point of this whole arc felt like something better suited for Black Widow or Hawkeye, not the guy who we've seen greet an old "friend from work" by screaming "yes" through an open-mouthed smile. I digress, of course, but this is really just an encapsulation of the kind of issues we're dealing with in a screenwriting sense. Overall, this isn't a bad movie. I don't even think it's the worst "Thor" movie. The humor lands 7 out of 10 times, let's say. The ending is mostly satisfying. There is, however, a lot that I think could have been hashed out in the writer's room. Expand

The adventures of Thor Odinson continues with the twenty-ninth instalment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to characters returning from 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, Jane Foster who previously appeared in 2011’s Thor and 2013’s Thor: The Dark World and absent in the previous movie, made a return in this movie with the power of Thor.

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor (Hemsworth) and the Guardians of the Galaxy received a distress signal from Sif, who fought against Gorr the God Butcher (Bale). Going their separate ways, Thor finds her where he learns that Gorr has the Necrosword which has the power to slay a God like Thor himself and his goal is to kill all Gods.

Meanwhile, Jane Foster (Portman) have been diagnose with a terminal cancer and do not much time left to live. Hoping to find a cure, she travel to New Asgard where she finds the broken Mjolnir. Later that night, Gorr and his Shadow Monster attacks New Asgard and Thor arrives in time to battle him. During the battle, Jane, who now has the power of Thor and wielding the Mjolnir, joins the battle with Thor but Gorr successfully kidnap the children of New Asgard and escape.

Thor along with Jane, Valkyrie and Korg travel to Omnipotence City to seek help from Zeus and the other Gods to help create an army to fight against Gorr before he kills more Gods and end their entire existence.

If I were to compare this movie with Thor: Ragnarok, this movie is kind of a letdown but still not too bad. For one, the pacing is not really good and I felt the movie is rushed which kind of explain why the movie is on nearly two hours. Although the plot is fine but I felt it could use some improvement. The humours in this movie is also a letdown. There are not many funny scenes in this movie like in the previous movie which is kind of disappointed.

Due to shorter runtime, some of the characters did not have enough time for character developments. For example, Gorr is supposed to be a threatening main villain in the movie where he kills Gods but the movie only shown very little of it. There are not much of screentime for him either. Jaime Alexander who reprised her role as Sif, return in this movie but she is totally underused in this movie and have very little screentime.

Despite the bad parts of the movie, the casts did a splendid performance especially Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Christian Bale. Natalie’s performance in this movie is a huge improvement and better than her performance in the first two Thor movies. It is really great to see her character again and Natalie still got it. For Christian Bale, he played a really great villain which reminds me of his role as Patrick Bateman in 2000’s American Psycho. Chris Hemsworth still plays Thor well without any sign of degrading.

This may not be the best Thor movie but at least, it is not like Thor: The Dark World. The movie is not too bad but not too good either. It is still an enjoyable and good entry into this movie franchise. Do stay back for mid-credits and post-credits scene. There is one underrated character from the comics shows up which I do not expect at all.

I expected a bit of woke, but I honestly didn't get that out of this story. And while yes, it was more humorous than even Thor: Ragnorok, it worked for me. It was very funny to me, very entertaining, gorgeous to look at, and I very enjoyable. Even the kids stuff wasn't overbearing. The real highlight was Christian Bale in the interviews for this. You don't normally get to see too much of who he really is, and that one incident (on Terminator Salvation, which I actually agree with him on, despite how he handled it), has haunted him. He's actually delightful and a breath of fresh air, because he genuinely doesn't seem to give a **** Overall I highly recommend this. I guess because it takes the piss out of the false gravitas of the MCU, it's not a favorite, but it and Ragnarok, and Infinity War are my favorite MCU movies. Too bad Waititi said he's dropping out after this. He will be missed. Expand

I liked Thor Love and Thunder a lot, it had a lot of great and even surprising scenes, but despite all that, I liked the predecessor a little bit more.

I was really amazed which figures you get to see here, which also gives a great view for the future. The antagonist was also well chosen and quite stylish. Bale does it really well too.

But here and there I was a bit overwhelmed or one or the other joke just didn't work at all. Thor 3 had made a rounder impression and ultimately entertained me even more.

But Thor delivers again and after the She-Hulk torment it was a pleasant Marvel trip again. 4/5 flashes 8/10

I enjoyed this movie. I know it is lambasted for being tone deaf at times and not finding the balance between humor and drama....but I didn't find it too bad.
While it does have a lot of comedic moments, it does know when to take itself seriously, especially towards the climax. The villian and emotional core of the movie still resonate, and I don't think it deserves the critical reception it has received.
Sure, the actual plot is very simple and it does little for the overall narrative of the MCU Phase....but so do most current MCU movies. As a stand-alone film it's funny, entertaining and does contain a genuine and heartfelt message.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the major problems I had with the movie was the comedy. Yes, the movie was funny, but it felt like it was trying to input comedy at every possible chance it got. This doesn't necessarily fit into a Thor Movie, especially when the antagonist of this film is Gorr the God Butcher. I had expected this movie to be a little bit more dark and serious than most Marvel Movies, and instead it ended up being trying to be more comedic then them all. Whenever there were any scenes with Gorr, the movie shifted to a more serious tone all of a sudden. The set pieces and designs of certain scenes looked amazing, and the movie had a bit of a nice smooth flow going. The soundtrack was phenomenal. But the ending really had me thinking, "What the Hell?" Basically, in the ending Thor recruits the help of a bunch of Asgardian Children that Gorr had kidnapped, giving them the power of Thor. this scene literally had no importance in the plot whatsoever. Its really clear it was only added there for comedic value. Gorr was significantly nerfed when compared to the comics. He was supposed to be the toughest villain Thor had ever faced. Instead, Gorr feels like another random, One Movie Antagonist, that was wasted. King Valkyrie was also underutilized. In Ragnarok, she actually had a purpose to be there. In this film, it feels like she's just there to be just a side character who helps fight the bad guy. Chris Hemsworth does an excellent job of playing Thor, and Natalie Portman was great too. Christian Bale, as is to be expected, was phenomenal. The action sequences were cool, and might as well be some of the best in the whole MCU. There were some big hiccups in CGI though, such as when Heimdall's son appears as a floating head, that looks like a filter edited into a youtube video, not exactly the quality you expect from Marvel. If it had just taken an approach similar to Ragnarok, and tried to include some more seriousness instead of as much comedy, it would be a 9/10 at least. Expand

Taika Waititi’s background as a painter can be seen throughout the film, through the use of a vibrant color scheme and specific tint isolation. This is incredibly aesthetically pleasing and, quite frankly, nothing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has shown us before. Matched with a rocking soundtrack -- Appetite for Destruction from Guns N’ Roses, Thor: Love and Thunder is quite literally an “appetite for destruction.”

Thor: Love and Thunder picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is still tagging along as one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. After all his paths have been severed from his battles with Thanos, he finds himself without a pathway. In all of his thousands of years of living, this has never been a concept that Thor has had to tackle. This puts him on a journey of self-exploration. Although, obviously in the Marvel Universe, that can only last so long when the new villain Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) comes to town. Gorr vows that “all gods will die.” Thor recruits the help of his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) who seemingly became a Thor herself. These two learn to work together to defeat Gorr and how to navigate the world while rekindling their old relationship.

Thor: Love and Thunder emphasizes the idea of “love” in the title because that’s how audiences will feel about the film’s color variations and banging soundtrack. Christian Bale completely steals the entire show as Gorr the God Butcher. In every scene he is in, your eyes are glued to his worldly-like presence on the screen. Although he is terrifying, the audience will not be able to get enough of him. Christian Bale finds a way to make this a Christian Bale film and not a Chris Hemsworth film. As much as Gorr the God Butcher’s storyline is golden, which is ironic given his black and white color scheme, other branches of the film feel unnecessary. During the film, certain plot points are used that feel somewhat like a cheap excuse to move the story forward. The characters spend a solid 30 minutes exploring something new, yet later we learn that it has no overall impact or relevance to the story. Part of the film is wasted on the focus of Zeus. It may be comedic and light-hearted in the moment, yet it almost feels like it is only introduced to help set up future Marvel projects, rather than focus on the film we are currently watching.

If the title doesn’t make it obvious, the film deals with the theme of love persevering and expresses the concept that relationships aren’t forever, but the love behind them is eternal. Following previous Marvel content Thor: Love and Thunder continues the trend of pushing PG-13 boundaries and getting darker. When I say that Christian Bale is incredibly terrifying, that is really true. Marvel does not hold back on his character, especially when a large part of his role is about abducting children. Given that, plus the barrel of intense action throughout the film, this film is not to be taken lightly. I give Thor: Love and Thunder 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. You can find Thor: Love and Thunder raining its way into theatres on July 8, 2022. So make sure to check it out! By Jude A., KIDS FIRST!
