I enjoyed this movie! Luckily I watched it before I saw how bad the critic reviews are. I like Jared Leto, vampire movies, and scientific experiments gone wrong. I enjoyed every second of this movie. Full disclosure, this is a terrible movie, and if you're not a fan of terribly written, stupid movies with no logic, you won't have any fun with it. But me, I absolutely loved this movie, I legitimately had a BLAST with it. The fight scenes were so messy but had a certain comicbook-esque charm to it, so while I couldn't tell you what happened in a couple of end-film scenes, I did have a lot of fun. I laughed more than a few times at how serious the tone and dialogue was (supposed to be), and how it just utterly failed at trying to be a horror drama. But, all that being said, I do think the movie succeeded in a few aspects, namely Jared Leto's acting was surprisingly spot on and he stayed in character, even through the cringe worthy lines. Matt Smith also did a surprisingly remarkable job in the movie, delivering a very entertaining over the top performance. Smith very clearly understood the kind of movie he was in and did a very good job playing that key, over the top ridiculous role. Also the movie was just very fast paced and entertaining, which worked really well for some scenes and not so much for others. My favorite scene in the movie was definitely the scene when Morbius transformed for the first time, because it felt the most like the fun, over the top gruesome movie it was supposed to be (damn pg-13 rating). Although the story here is very by the books, and the writing is downright abysmal, I had a lot of fun with this movie, and if you think it's the worst piece of s**t you've ever scene, then I get that. I just had a lot of fun with this movie, and the post credit scenes were very confusing and extremely fun at the same time.… Expand

It's a shame how Morbius ended up. I was looking forward to it. It started out fine and actually was fine for me all along, it just didn't take long for the end to come and I just stared stupidly, feeling like that was it? It’s pretty rare for me to see superhero movies with a great logical explanation for their superpower through sci-fi. This Morbius (2022) has a lil bit blown my mind with their scientific explanation and great delivery which is convincing enough to think if Morbius's superpower is possibly happening. One of the Greatest Scientists and a Nobel Prize rejector, Dr. Michael Morbius struggle to find the cure for his incurable disease for his fellow sufferer. Then, he has found the cure through bat vampire blood with great superhuman power but costing uncontrollable body and mind. Long story short, this movie is about the introduction of Morbius's superpower and most of the storyline is about controlling his superpower.

The pros are suitable pace which is not too fast or too slow, great logical explanation through a Lil bit of sci-fi, and a clear storyline through simple story explanation. My odd POV, I thought this movie a lil bit reminded me about the chars from The Twilight Saga, especially The Volturi. The Volturi char seems to have a similar appearance to Morbius through the same haircut and vampire ambiance lol. The cons are incomparable to other superhero movies and standard quality for overall including visual, ex: CGI. This movie didn’t about a superhero typical plot in which superheroes fight the villain from a threatening world. It even didn’t about fighting a very difficult or a very strong villain which makes this movie didn’t qualify enough as a superhero movie. But both of that reason is typical of Sony Spider-Man Universe like Venom movies. This is also the main reason why Morbius has been made to synchronize with Spider-Man, Venom, and upcoming movie through the different universes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) which consist of the Avengers. Overall, this movie is just good and okay. It’s worth it if didn’t expect any expectations of a superhero movie. Maybe it felt like Venom movies but tbh I’d rather choose Venom lol. Lastly, there are two post-credit and pretty important if wondered how the universe collides with the Spider-Man.… Expand

This weekend we caught the release of the long delayed Morbius. Sony vs. Marvel? What production do we have here with a Spiderman character that make his big screen debut? Yes, it's that origin story we've all been clamoring for. That tale of Dr. Michael Morbius, a biochemist with a rare blood disease, who attempts to cure his ailment using DNA from vampire bats. His experiment takes an unexpected turn causing him to be infected with vampirism. Bloodsucking hijinks ensue or something like that.

First, I'm not really sure where this will fit in the MCU universe or if it should, which is crazy considering the planning and storytelling that Kevin Feige and the MCU have done for the last 20 years. I don't know what to say, but there's an obvious imbalance between the production companies - each with their own agendas. There are so many holes or not enough explanations for portions of the movie. For example, Morbius clearly has powers but in most "powered" movies, the character takes some time to figure out how to use the powers. There were times where they hinted at the power but Morbius already figured it out without even trying. Sure, he's supposedly a genius but flying is always a struggle for every character who flies. He just gets it right away in front of a subway train about to hit him? COME ON SAHN. It's not the biggest issue but there are consistent situations throughout this movie that you have to think, "why did that happen or how did it happen so easily?"

The visual effects and editing is probably the only place where this movie truly succeeds. Morbius as an anti-hero/villain of Spider-Man's exceeds his movie in one fashion. Where Spidey has his peter tingle, the MCU has really struggled to visualize that for the fans. Here, the producers were like we have to hit a homerun with this. I agree that they knocked this echolocation/bat sense out of the park. I mean they did so well with it that they actually go to the well too many times with it.

Long story short, if this is a MCU movie... this isn't their best quality. If this is a Sonyverse movie, then this is a subpar movie that is par the course. Morbius looks good and has the bells and whistles but the substance is lacking. There's a lack of understanding where this movie fits into the MCU or the "Sonyverse". The movie is entertaining but grab a handful of popcorn and watch this movie when it eventually comes to a streaming service. Just like the delays it took for this movie to come out, viewers should delay to see this flick and save their money.… Expand

Not sure what type of weed the critics are smoking because this is One of the best Marvel Comics movies I ever seen and one of the best Super Hero origin movies ever too. Bemoaning a movie because it isn’t 3 hours long and tells the story it needs to at pace seems a weird critique. I was super excited for this movie and it more than delivered on the hype! It's everything I wanted in a live action Morbius origin story. This movie is a really great follow up to No Way Home too! I don't understand the hate it's getting. Don't listen to the haters and go see it! It is 1 hour and 50 minutes of great movie with some of the coolest after credit scenes that I have seen in a Marvel Movie in a long a while.
The special effects and action sequences were intense! The characters are memorable and interesting. The entire cast and everyone involved did a phenomenal job at bringing one of my favorite and most beloved comic book characters and his story to life on the big screen. I'm really excited to see what's in store next for Doctor Michael Morbius. I hope that Sony listens to the fans when we say we want more Morbius because Sony you are really on a role now. I can't wait for the Kraven the Hunter Film as well.… Expand

Never listen to critics. It’s got a slightly abrupt ending yes and there are some editing flaws. But apart from that the acting is great and the VFX isn’t as bad as people are claiming the one part I hate is the end credit scenes as theyNever listen to critics. Morbius was an okay movie. I enjoyed the actions, plots, and digital effects. The best part was " shorter than Batman. I mean, Batman is a three hours movie. Morbius is two hours. Thanks.

Hardcore fans feel protective about this horrible movie.
Which is sad since instead of feeling obliged to protect this terrible mess they should stand up and demand better quality movies.
I wouldnt recommend watching it even if its for free.

We are back with marvel, and marvel never goes wrong, this movie is funny and a little bit scary.

I like the part where Leto is in it, since he caries the movie on his shoulder.

This film is absolutely awful. The side characters are uninspiring and the villain is boring/forgettable. We get that your're in Jared's cult as you give this movie undeserving 10s to balance out the critic score but this movie is painfully bad.

As for Jared Leto......... Cursed! CURSED! CUUUUUURRRRRRSSSSSED! Inability to achieve in a role from a graphic novel series! I normally dunk on Leto for trying too hard in whatever role he's in, but in this film... Dude just mumbles his way through dreary dialog, with very little substance and doesn’t give the audience a reason to care about his character. And don’t even get me STARTED on the villain. Dude was cringe and not even in a fun way.

If I were to give the movie props for TWO things, it would be that the visuals were kinda cool to look at. All the "shadow dashing" was fun to watch and the fights were cool. I also like that the movie was short, and I’m not saying I’m glad the movie was short because it was bad. Like, on God yo, I’m sick of movies being 2.5 – 3 hours long, LET’S HEAR IT FOR SHORT MOVIES!!!… Expand

The CGI occassionally gets into the trippy zone where the effects are heavy warranting a better creative direction or polishing. Apart from that, this is a cbm that delivers and offers a blast for those nerds who are into the sinister six comics. The post credits scene only add to the excitement with subtle references to MCU but still largely in the Marvel universe under Sony and which I honestly think needs further world building.… Expand

What I want to say about graphics is pretty good. 1:30 is too little for the film, I didn't have time to understand much, I couldn't feel the main conflict properly. The scenes after the credits are what the director and studio bosses, I think, will report to the fans for a long time. What, how, why did Keaton move into Sony's universe??? One thing I can say for sure - we are waiting for Garfield.… Expand

CGI isnt that great.

There is a very 90s style, involving Morbius. It's not something that everyone will appreciate, but I personally found it quite amusing and able to remind me of great vampire stories from the time. A movie worth checking out.
