This has been a pretty good over the top comedy/action flick. Some of the actors were not showing their full potential but it had a decent soundtrack and scenes. Watch it when you got nothing better to do and just want to unwind.

okay, the movie isn't perfect.

It likes to use lengthy exposition a lot in the first half of the movie and it's not the funniest movie either but I would still take it over any new marvel movie ANYDAY. The action is well choreographed andokay, the movie isn't perfect.

Better than I expected. Not a great movie, but a fun afternoon matinee that doesn't make you think. Brad Pitt has fun making fun of his pretty boy image. Best Tarantino movie not made by Tarantino. I had a blast watching it and can highly recommend it. Absurd action movie again? After Thor: Love and Thunder?

This movie is very absurd and somehow harder than Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) to understand the jokes. The director looks like wants to create a similar movie ambiance and absurd action. He may be successfully created Deadpool 2 (2018) but this movie quality is just so so than that. Jokes could be considered as pros but also cons.

The movie pros are a lot of huge casts even for cameo roles. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum look like paying their debt to Brad Pitt for his cameo role in their movie, The Lost City (2022). The movie set, costumes, and music are great.

Besides that, the movie's biggest pro is an abstract plot that is well-narrated.

Firstly, the abstract scenario is when a bunch of chars is contracted to do their own job via bullet train, a very fast train which is "bullet" as a metaphor for the train speed. Then, slowly but surely every char. Are collided in the same scenario and is forced to stay on the bullet train. The great narration is the audience is easily distracted to guess how can be all chars are related to the same scenario. A bunch of jokes are provided.

But the funny things just happen for some time. Sometimes, too many jokes and it is inappropriate which distracts emotional or intense moments. This becomes movie cons. Absurd jokes maybe could be the perfect thing for our world because there are so many bizarre and chaotic moments, but plz not too much. Even though, there were very absurd jokes which is a vivid ad for a brand that is also an unimportant story.

In my POV, movie jokes maybe a lil bit similar to Deadpool 2 (2018), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), and The Gentlemen (2019). Gentlemen's comedy and action quality are a lil bit similar to The Gentlemen (2019) which is tend to become an elegant and sophisticated fashion.

Nevertheless, this movie is fun to watch but don't expect too much. The great cast, absurd jokes, and action are refreshing. Maybe we need that to entertain and escape our minds for a lil bit from reality. As always, I didn't expect anything before watching in the cinema. Enjoy this movie or just pass it.… Expand

The White Death appeared in scenes that appeared to have been taken directly from Ghost of Tsushima due to the location in conventional Japanese shrines and homes. Tokyo scenes in the opening sequence, meanwhile, showcased Japan's cutting-edge technology cityscape and had a strong cyberpunk vibe to them. The mascots for Japan's most well-known anime are the main way that we witness more of the country's contemporary kawaii culture throughout the train travel.… Expand

Actually a very entertaining flick. A lot of bloody action mixed in with comedy relief done the right way. (take notes Waititi!) This film reminded me of the movie Snatch, which also featured Brad Pitt. If you never seen that check it out.

Let's get this out of the way. When Bullet Trains decide to be a 'kick ass' action film, with bullets, swords winging around in great set pieces, the film shines. He can set up all these whiz bang things but he is essentially 'a 2nd unit director'. Dialogue driven pieces is not his strong suit, despite the incredibly stellar casts involved. Pacing and tone was all over the place, and if the flick was tightened to 100 minutes or less, then it would have been a decent '7 or more'.… Expand

Critics definitely got this one wrong. Bullet Train has a great cast, and a solid story, and is shot well in the confines of the train which helps add to the action. I hate movies that make me strain to interpret a fast talking dialect. This film was chucked full of it. Agree with some it had it's funny moments & decent fight scenes but the overall premise was a bit much. In Bullet Train nothing matters. There are connections between the characters, some stupid and empty motives, and supposedly professional killers who are basically a joke. Everyone wants to kill each other, but nothing makes any sense. There are characters like the ones performed by Zazie Beetz, Logan Lerman and Karen Fukuhara who don't do **** except show up for a few moments, which completely wastes them and that's not even counting the cameos by Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

As I said, since nothing really matters, there's no real use in knowing how it's all going to end, and you won't even care who lives and who dies, because yes, although it's not abundant, when the violence does appear, it's more brutal than I expected, but it's still of no use, cause the violence it ain't the climax of the show, but the punchline. This film is a mind-numbing experience. All that matters is that you go on the journey and that it entertains you enough so that you don't feel ripped off once the end comes.
And it's not that I tried to make sense of a movie that warns you from the beginning that that's not its purpose, and I get it, there are movies that are just made to be fun and goofy, it's just that that's not something that satisfies me.

I was going to give it only two stars, but it earns the extra half for what its cast does well, not what the script offered them.… Expand

So far nothing to complain, the problems arise with the divertissement: we have reached the Quentinian epigones of the 3rd (de-)generation, on IMDb there are those who admit that it is not clear where the references to "Reservoir Dogs" (1992) begin and where those to "Seven Psychopaths" (2012) end. In more detail, the detractors (the critics) agree with the admirers (the audience): it is a high-speed action useful for spending time havin' fun. But while the former ask themselves: "Is it all here? The evanescence of the movie goes nowhere and the train derails", the latter bulimically thank for the additional dose of carefree entertainment. if you looking for an entertaining movie and a bit of comedy this film is for you.

Aaron Taylor Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are the standouts in the film where there are many high profile actors. Their back and forth banter is really fun. Always painful to sit through a film trying too hard to be edgy. This was excruciating. Endless yammering, garbled slathering, muddled babbling, awkward preening and sword fights. At least in Snatch he was being intentionally annoying and incomprehensible. Here he's just a mealymouthed, permastoned, mentally invalid, mouth breathing snowflake. His most autobiographical role to date. The script is hacky, the action cheesy, the acting atrocious, the direction kitschy. It's as if the filmmakers literally set out to make the worst trainwreck possible. Hell, this dumpster fire wasn't even filmed in Japan. Hollywood just doesn't know how to make interesting, original films anymore. At least it wasn't another cookiecutter superhero mcmovie, I'll give it that. I guess they're trying as best they can, can't ask any more from these bugs than that.… Expand

Good performances, lots of pointless action, and some funny lines, but not a great film. I bought the book when it first came out, but never made much progress in it. Sometimes funny, often bloody, this film has no reason to have been made. Waste of time unless you are looking for a cinema with air conditioning on a very hot day.

Terrible movie. The characters are insufferable, the humor is bad, you don't care about the story... The only redeeming thing in this movie is the cinematography and visuals, which are fun most of the time. But it's a movie, it's supposed toTerrible movie. The way they use Brad Pitt is a crime. His attempted humorous one liners just made me bury my face in my hands. The obsession with Thomas the Tank engine is just weird. The humor though is the absolute worst quality of this movie. No more than three mildly funny moments in this 'comedy' if you've got your brain switched on.… Expand

If you’ve seen the modestly amusing trailer for director David Leitch’s latest, you’ve seen all you need to see. This overlong, ridiculously convoluted train wreck (obvious pun intended) lost my interest about 20 minutes in, and I never got it back during its 2+ hour runtime. While seemingly attempting to be a playful action comedy in the spirit of movies like “Red” (2010), “Kingsman: The Secret Service” (2014) and the “Deadpool” franchise, “Bullet Train” instead comes across as gratuitous, nasty and mean-spirited, more like the “John Wick” offerings or the works of Quentin Tarantino, pictures that desperately stretch the meaning of “funny.” This cinematic mess tries way too hard to generate laughs but falls flat at virtually every juncture, failing to stick any of its landings. And that’s a huge disappointment given the stellar cast, including leading man Brad Pitt, whose comedic talents are wasted on a script that gives him precious little to work with. The result is a tedious, feeble, exhausting, tiresome attempt at a summertime thrill ride that tells a story not worthy of caring about, filled with repulsive characters, wholly improbable events and underwhelming special effects. You should watch “The Proposal” instead, because it has Sandra Bullock in it and much more of Ryan Reynolds.

Absolutely painful to watch. I turned it off half way through. I get that this isn't made for me, but come on. It is possible to make a decent movie that appeals to a broader age spectrum.

C’est en effet un vrai supplice de beauferie et d’humour très con branchouille de mes couilles, du genre qui s’écoute parler, déborde de prétention et rit à ses propres clins d’oeil fatigués et usés jusqu’à la corde… alors qu’il pète simplement au dessus de son cul de bobo peigne-cul.

Car tout ici est usé et déjà vu, alors que la non-histoire, le non-scénario tentent de nous faire croire à un film qui n’en est pas un… Rien ne tient debout dans ce merdier, rien du tout… et la connerie tous azimuts n’incite pas à l’indulgence, ni à la curiosité… Même pas la peine de finir ce film, ce serait du temps perdu ! ça ne vaut même pas un (vieux) poil de cul, cette merde.… Expand
